Had the occasion to stop in a big box (membership) store. Chatted briefly with one of the automotive-area workers about electric cars.
Opined that they won't be any kind of market force for 20 years.
His response?
He agreed, because the infrastructure won't be available. That's because--in his studied opinion--the utilities never upgraded their infrastructure, preferring to jam all that money into their "profit" column.
I am NOT making that up.
Gently reminded the poor stooge that in Wisconsin, we have a "Public Service Commission" which regulates utility profits and has a great deal to say about infrastructure upgrades.
Like all those windmills that work some of the days, and all of those sun-catchers which ALSO work some of the days, for example.
