Old Yeller, Scarborough, Pelosi Agree!

Scarborough, Pelosi, and Old Yeller (Mark Levin) all agree.

Pulling out of Syria is a disaster, 'premature,' and 'a gift to Vladimir Putin.'

Levin expanded on this, suggesting that US troops would be back in the Middle East soon, and that the US armed presence in the region prevents the Russians and ISIS from attacking New York City.

Well, he was never a strategist.

However, to his credit, Levin never mentioned his client state, Israel.

Hard-Left Evers Appointments

Kittle over at MacIver puts it in one paragraph:

...As MacIver News Service first reported earlier this month, Evers liked to talk about compromise and bipartisanship following his election win, but his picks for policy advisers suggest he’s playing politics to the far left. The incoming governor has quietly assembled advisory committees packed with some of the most left-leaning people from some of the more left-wing organizations in the state. Nary a conservative to be found, of course, and even truly moderate Republicans are missing from the far left-heavy advisory committees.

The lineup includes big labor bosses, extreme environmentalists, social justice warriors, and espousers of socialism....
Hmmmm.  Does that include Craig Thompson, who will run the Dep't of Transportation?

...Thompson is well known in the Capitol for his work lobbying lawmakers as executive director of the Transportation Development Association of Wisconsin since 2007. The group, founded in 1971, represents more than 400 businesses, unions, citizen groups, local units of government and individuals. It has been a strong advocate for raising taxes and fees to improve the condition of Wisconsin's roads....
There are some who state that Wisconsin's roads are in terrible shape.  Driving on those roads would disprove that easily, of course.

The problem with the RoadBuilders Lobby is this:  you can NEVER give them enough money.  Never.  And they will be looking at your wallet for the next 4 years because their wallets are simply not fat enough.

Touring in Chicago? Think Carefully!!

Brought to us by Second City Cop.

At least four people were injured and CTA Red Line traffic was snarled as large groups of teens and young adults brought havoc to the Magnificent Mile on Saturday evening. One arrest was made.

Alderman Brian Hopkins (2nd) tweeted at 7:47 p.m. that “Water Tower Place will be closing at 8 p.m. tonight due to mob action by large crowds of juveniles.”

The latest Mag Mile mob scene began around 5 p.m. when a victim reported being battered near the Red Line station at State and Chicago. A man was arrested in connection with that attack....

You've been warned.

Oremus for Fr. Schall SJ

Fr. James Schall SJ is reportedly near the end of his earthly life.  Pray for a happy death for him.  He is one of perhaps 2 dozen Jesuits who still bear the charism of Ignatius.

Every one of his books (listed here for your convenience) is worth two or three times its price in orthodoxy, enlightenment, and "AHA!!" moments.

While you're at it, try a bunch of his essays and columns!!

They'll be around for quite a while, of course, thank God!!

A Warning to Milk-Carton Tom

The Mayor of Milwaukee is not a high-IQ kinda guy, but he's smart enough to read the signs of the times.

"According to U.S. Census estimates, Baltimore led all American cities in population loss for the last two years running. Census figures indicate the city saw more people leave its boundaries than Chicago, which also reported significant losses, even though Baltimore is only a quarter of its size."  --AP, quoted at Surber

What AP "forgot" to mention is the 2015 riots in Baltimore--and the Mayor-ette's "stand down" order issued to the police department.

Surber makes it clear--clear enough for even Tom Barrett:  when police functions cease, people get the Hell out of Dodge.

Less of St. Paul's Letter

We note that St. Paul's words are being .....ahhh.....eliminated hereabouts.

A few weeks before Advent, one of the readings at Mass was the St Paul letter containing the words "Wives, be subject to your husbands...."  The (rather young) priest skipped that part.

Today, the same quote was in the text of the 2nd reading, and was skipped again.

Different parishes, both relatively orthodox.

Not too long ago, we had priests who were man enough to read that passage and defend every jot and tittle.

Now?

You can draw your own conclusions.

The Pessimist in D.C.

It's fairly clear that the "Treehouse" author has been around Mordor on the Potomac for quite some time.  He knows how to follow the snakes through their acquaintances, friends, relatives, current- and ex-spouses, (etc.) to their home (which probably resembles this place).

While no one could accuse him of being a cockeyed optimist, it's becoming clearer that he's a deep, deep, pessimist.  His work sorta proves the old saw that ".....when you think things are really bad, they're actually far worse....." (or something to that effect.)

...Unfortunately, too few people ‘do‘ understand the scale of the problem(s). Until a significant number of more people understand the core issue(s), any discussion of a solution is essentially futile....

...The institutions of the DOJ and FBI are corrupted; not just a few people within it, but rather the entire apparatus has been weaponized, over time, by participating political members who have politicized every function within the institution.

Every level of the Department of Justice (Main Justice); every national administrative office inside the FBI; and every state office of the U.S. Attorney and field office of the FBI; is being run through the prism of politics.   Every outcome is clear evidence therein....

And most of those bastards have guns and ammo.  Not as many or as much as WE do, but enough to make things very ugly.

Leaky Border Is Murderous

Beetle O'Rourke, a rich white guy, likes the scenic vistas of the southern border.  The drug-running gangs and Chinese drug fabricators love them, too.

Beetle is just a dilettante rich kid politician.

The others?  Murderers for profit.

...More than 700,000 Americans died from drug overdoses from 1999 to 2017, about 10% of them in 2017 alone, according to a new report published by the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). In total, there were a staggering 70,237 drug overdose deaths last year, which is more deaths than all US military fatal casualties of the Vietnam War. Opioids were involved in 67.8%, or 47,600 of those deaths. Of those opioid-related overdose deaths, 59.8% of them, or 28,466, were due to synthetic opioids. ...

How much are 700,000 American lives worth, Beetle?  Nancy?  Chuckie??

Or don't you care?

The Temptation of Francis

Our Pope Francis has demonstrated that he is not comfortable with conventional (rational) thinking on matters of theology, morality, or philosophy.

Now he turns to linguistics to continue his losing streak.  He has decided that the phrase "....lead us not into temptation..." in the Our Father (Latin:  .....et ne nos inducas in tentationem...) is not a correct translation.

As with most things Francis, he's ........ahhhh...........out to lunch.  Here's a better-informed explanation of the phrase.

...To the objection that God would not “lead” us into temptation either, Father Neto replies with the obvious point that “the text does not say that God is the originator of the temptation; the devil is or men…. In this sense, Christ is led into the wilderness by the Holy Spirit ‘to be tempted by the devil’ (Mt 4:1)…” That is, he is subjected to a trial, in order to show us that trials in the form of temptations are to be expected in keeping with the revealed truth that “all who want to live a godly life in Christ Jesus will be persecuted (2 Tim 3:12),” with temptation being precisely a test of faith under persecution by the devil or his minions—a test we are able to pass if we correspond to God’s grace.

Here I would note that Saint Paul explains this quite precisely: “But God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation make also the way of escape, that ye may be able to endure it.” (1 Cor 10:13). That is, God will subject us to the trial of temptation, but will also provide us with the means to overcome it. He will not abandon us to temptation, although we may abandon ourselves by rejecting His grace. This datum of revealed truth is obviously lost on Bergoglio, who operates on the assumption that what he thinks “is Magisterium.”...

What we can say with certainty is this:  God has led us into temptation by delivering Francis to us.  The means to overcome it?  1) Prayer, and 2) study of right-thinking, rightly-ordered (those are hints!) Church teachings.  We in Southeastern Wisconsin had a foreshadowing of Francis during the reign of Rembert the Weakland of disgraceful memory.  These prescriptions work!!

Or you could just ignore him.  Letting him live in your head can lead to serious, long-term, negative effects on your sanity.

The GOVERNMENT Did It to Jesus, Ya'Know

The usual suspects, including the hilariously un-informed Ms. Occasional-Cortex, would like us to believe that the Infant Jesus was a 'refugee' at birth, thus forced into a stable and manger.

That's not the story.

In fact, the Government (Mordor on the Tiber) forced Jesus' mom and foster-dad to go to Bethlehem under penalty, to register for census.  So the Government was the direct cause of the stable/manger thing.

THEN the Government (Mordor in Jerusalem) forced Jesus' mom and dad to haul out of the country or see the baby Jesus killed, sorta like that very same Government had done to dozens of other little babies.  (And they didn't have Planned Parenthood to do it for them, either.)  That was done so that the Elite could retain their power.

So what have we learned?

We have learned:  1)  The Government is a taskmaster which doesn't really care about the difficulty or expense you encounter in obeying its (stupid) orders.  2)  The Government is perfectly willing to kill anyone, any time, any place, to preserve itself and its Elite.  3)  Elected US Representatives are fully able to be dumber than a box of rocks.

(As a matter of fact, The Government eventually managed to kill Jesus, using its power of execution to maintain acceptable relations with some other Elites who could cause trouble.)

Study these lessons, boys and girls.  You never know when you'll see another similar episode.

Federal Snoopers

The National Security Agency--a branch of Establishment, Inc.--continues to collect telephone records in the USA.

The NSA says their hoovering is only for "national security" purposes.  Swearsies!!

Well, OK, then.  See if this makes sense to you.

...data collection continues to occur on an immense scale. For instance, the lawsuit noted, the government said it collected over 534 million call detail records in 2017 even though it reported having only 40 surveillance targets....

534,000,000 call detail records for 40 'targets.'

40 'targets' plus every Trump voter and all their friends and relatives.

The America We Love

...which is not necessarily the America of Bloomberg's Wall Street, or of the sex-drugs-hippie-dippie West Coast...

...and yes, I stole this directly from Cold Fury, who stole it from (etc.)

JFK’S Secretary of State, Dean Rusk, was in France in the early 60’s when DeGaulle decided to pull out of NATO. DeGaulle said he wanted all US military out of France as soon as possible. Rusk responded, “Does that include those who are buried here?”DeGaulle did not respond. You could have heard a pin drop.

When in England, at a fairly large conference, Colin Powell was asked by the Archbishop of Canterbury if our plans for Iraq were just an example of ‘empire building’ by George Bush.

He answered by saying, “Over the years, the United States has sent many of Its fine young men and women into great peril to fight for freedom beyond our borders. The only amount of land we have ever asked for In return is enough to bury those that did not
return.”

You could have heard a pin drop.

There was a conference in France where a number of international engineers were taking part, including French and American. During a break, One of the French engineers came back into the room saying, “Have you heard the latest dumb stunt Bush has done? He has sent an aircraft carrier to Indonesia to help the tsunami victims. What does he intend to do, bomb them?”

A Boeing engineer stood up and replied quietly: “Our carriers have three hospitals on board that can treat several hundred people; they are nuclear powered and can supply emergency electrical power to shore facilities; they have three cafeterias with the capacity to feed 3,000 people three meals a day, they can produce several thousand gallons of fresh water from sea water each day, and they carry half a dozen helicopters for use in transporting victims and injured to and from their flight deck.

We have eleven such ships. How many does France have?”

You could have heard a pin drop.

A U.S. Navy admiral was attending a naval conference that included admirals from the U.S., English, Canadian, Australian and French navies at a cocktail reception. He found himself standing with a large group of officers that included personnel from most of those countries.

Everyone was chatting away in English as they sipped their drinks when a French admiral suddenly complained that, whereas Europeans learn many languages, Americans learn only English. He then asked, “Why is it that we always have to speak English in these conferences rather than speaking French?”

Without hesitating, the American admiral replied, “Maybe it’s because the Brit’s, Canadians, Aussie’s and Americans arranged it so you wouldn’t have to speak German.”

You could have heard a pin drop.

AND THIS STORY FITS RIGHT IN WITH THE ABOVE…

Robert Whiting, an elderly gentleman of 83, arrived in Paris by plane. At French customs, he took a few minutes to locate his passport in his carry on. “You have been to France before, monsieur?” the customs officer asked sarcastically. Mr. Whiting admitted that he had been to France previously.

“Then you should know enough to have your passport ready.”

The American said, “The last time I was here, I didn’t have to show it.”

“Impossible. Americans always have to show their passports on arrival in France!” The American senior gave the Frenchman a long hard look. Then he quietly explained, “Well, when I came ashore at Omaha Beach on D-Day in 1944 to help liberate this country, I couldn’t find a single Frenchmen to show a passport to.”

You could have heard a pin drop.

A Christmas Peace: Defeat the War Party

It occurs to us that since Christmas is traditionally a time of peace, Trump's decision to pull out of Syria is in accord with Tradition.

We could include the Afghanistan decision, I suppose, but that's only halfway there.  So far.

Trump's pathway to this decision begins with the question(s) he asked prior to his candidacy and throughout his Presidency:

"Why do we do this?"  "Why do we spend this?"  "Why are we there?"  "What does this do for the US?"

All very good questions,  that Mattis and The 'Stache could not answer to anyone's satisfaction.

"Why", indeed??

Lefties Awakening on Red China?

Egads!  Whatfinger points us to this article appearing in Salon, a lefty outfit.  Apparently the bloom is off the murderous 'rose' of Communist China.

Now watch as Salon wordsmiths its way out of pointing fingers at the guilty parties:

Is today’s trade conflict with China beginning to broaden into something bigger and more long-lasting? It would appear so. Much of the current backlash is a product of the West’s longstanding, but misplaced, fawning and awe over Beijing’s historically unprecedented economic advancement over the past 30 years: the naïve assumption that its growing prosperity would inevitably lead to a more open, politically liberalized country whose interests would more closely align with those of the West. As those expectations have been dashed, so too the backlash has arisen accordingly: Many now view China as both a trade cheat and a mounting global security threat, as it approaches economic parity and strategic rivalry with the West. And China’s leadership appears less well-equipped both politically and economically than its Western counterparts to deal with this rising conflict, as it metastasizes into a fully-fledged Cold War 2.0....
Salon is pretty crafty in its propaganda, eh?   First off, exactly WHO was "naive" about the Chinese Communists?

Well, how about the Globaloney Crowd:   Dick Nixon.  Bill Clinton.  Obozo the Stupid.  Both of the Bush-men.  The entire State Department Foreign Policy Establishment of Egghead Smarter-Than-You Harvard/Yale people.

I'll tell you this:  it wasn't anyone who knew what Communists are or how they work.  But Goldwater, Sobran, Sam Francis, Cdl. Mindszenty, Buchanan, the Conservative Treehouse--well, they're just Stupid, right?

Uh-huh.

Secondly, Briggs & Stratton and Chrysler found out--in the mid-1980's--that the Chinese Communists were "trade cheats."  Everybody else doing business there found out within a couple of years of start-up that the Chinese would steal everything in sight.  But they kept quiet about it because, after all, the ChiComs were very good at mercantilism (prison camps and death squads are great motivators) so US shareholders and Muckety-Mucks got rich.  (So did both the Clintons, Joe Biden's kid, and Mitch McConnell, by the way.)

Now, all of a sudden, the ChiComs are acting like Communists?

Huh.  Somebody better tell Mike Bloomberg.

The Wall Ain't Just About Illegals

Largely by-passed in the discussions of The Wall (an absolutely necessary part of US security) is this little report from Centers for Disease Control.

An in-depth analysis of 2016 U.S. drug overdose data shows that America’s overdose epidemic is spreading geographically and increasing across demographic groups. The report, from researchers at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), appears in today’s issue of MMWR.

Drug overdoses killed 63,632 Americans in 2016. Nearly two-thirds of these deaths (66%) involved a prescription or illicit opioid. Overdose deaths increased in all categories of drugs examined for men and women, people ages 15 and older, all races and ethnicities, and across all levels of urbanization.
CDC’s new analysis confirms that recent increases in drug overdose deaths are driven by continued sharp increases in deaths involving synthetic opioids other than methadone, such as illicitly manufactured fentanyl (IMF)....
The drugs largely come across the horribly un-secure southern border.

The Democrats, as usual, talk a good game about "caring for people."  However, just as with abortion, the Democrats' policies actually deliver death.

Republicans could talk about that, but they don't.  That's because they remain The Stupid Party.

NFL Attendance and Naked Strip-Teasers

Why, yes, yes indeed, I can reconcile those two items!

Some conservative news outlets have mentioned (often) that NFL attendance has been less-than-good during this season, and that the drop began with the Kaepernick Kaper.

Maybe that's when it began, but that is merely co-incidence.

Trump capitalized on that rummy's kneeling act to underline a theme of his Presidency--patriotism!!!--but Trump made his point and left that particular building.  However, attendance continues to drop.

Ahem.

Strippers know that they make lots of money when they remain clothed.  Not MUCH clothed, of course; but the money is in 'controlled exposure.'  The NFL didn't learn that, (although it's not for lack of watching strippers, we suspect.)

In the quest for MO' MONEY, football added the AFL--a bunch of new teams.  Then they merged the AFL and NFL, and subsequently added even MORE teams.  Sunday-only broadcasts (with 3 or 4 cameras) became Sunday, Monday, and then Sunday-, Sunday night-, Thursday night-, Saturday night- broadcasts with a dozen cameras and dancing-girl interviewers and 'me! me! me!!' schmucks like Joe Buck.....

And Grand Temples were built (at taxpayer expense, in most cases) for the Worship of Football Gods, a noticeable number of which were thugs, wife-beaters, drug-users, and general louts, who make a minimum wage in the high $400K range.  Some of them earn around the range of Green Bay's entire municipal budget numbers. *coughRodgerscough*

In other words, the NFL got naked in front of its audience, and the audience got bored or shocked or both, and is walking away.  At $85.00 or more for a nose-bleed seat, and with TeeVee re-runs and re-plays, who needs it?

So, NFL:  put some clothes on before you catch your death..........

The Bloomberg-Democrat-NPC Screech

Mike Bloomberg is a man of the last century, thus carrying old-style Democrat campaign scrolls in his vest-pocket.  He's influential and has lots of money, so you'll hear Bloomberg-esque incantations as 2020 approaches.  It's likely that the Children's Crusade of such intellectual heavyweights as Ocasio-Cortez and David Hogg will add a few catchy phrases written in crayon, but in the main, you'll hear what Bloomberg outlines.

Here are a few bits and pieces from his latest NPC cri de ceour which are representative of (D) wailing, followed by some observations.

...[Trump's] destructive effect on competent government in Washington...  Wrongly assumes that 'government' was 'competent' in the first place.

...one of the last remaining seasoned and respected professionals at the top of the administration announced his resignation, [Mattis] for reasons he explained in a letter that was as courteous as it was devastating. ...Mattis, a good man and true, represents the GHW/GW Bush "Imperium" school of thought.  That thinking is directly opposed to that of G. Washington (directly) and D. Eisenhower (indirectly), who were "seasoned, respected, professionals" too, IIRC.

...president’s obsession with a border wall that won’t work but will waste billions of taxpayer money....  There's nothing like "evidence-based" objections, Mike.  So maybe you have actual evidence that 'it won't work'?  Start with Israel.  You may include Paul Ryan's estate if you like.  Show your work.  Second:  "wasting billions in taxpayer money" is what government has done for at least the last 60 years.  To "competent" politicians, that's a Feature, not a Bug.  That's one reason that Trump and his voters don't like "competent" politicians, you dummy.

...Trump’s recklessly emotional and senselessly chaotic approach to the job....Yah, Mike, it's awful.  Consumer spending up, manufacturing employment up, unemployment at less-than-statistical-zero, taxes down, ObozoCare almost wiped out, straitjacket restraints on the US (read:  Paris Accords, NAFTA) gone.  Emo?  No, Mike.  It's AMERICA FIRST.  Not "Wall Street First."  See the difference?

...The president’s decision to withdraw U.S. forces from Syria, which jeopardized military success in a crucial battle and betrayed an ally as well,...   You mean like the "crucial ally" we had in South Vietnam--the one that the Democrats left for dead, you f'n hypocrite?  Or maybe you'd prefer we leave 2,200 troops directly between the Russians and the Iranians to see what crossfire looks like up close and personal?  At least Mattis suited up and was IN combat, Mike.

Mike, you quote Mattis here:  "we cannot protect our interests or serve that role effectively without maintaining strong alliances and showing respect to those allies"....  Mattis is a good man and true, but there's something he doesn't mention there, to wit:  those allies must show equal respect to the USA.  We will no longer subsidize German and French commerce and industry by paying THEIR share of defense obligations, Mike.  Maybe that's the way you like it, but the old way doesn't look "respectful" to me.

...His penchant for ignoring reality — evident in so many other areas, including climate change — apparently extends to elections....  No, Mike, the President knows that climate changes.  More important, he knows that it changes without any help from puny little mankind.  So he's not going to waste billions and billions and billions of dollars on the racketeers of Climate.  They are YOUR allies, and hey!  It's OK that you pick your friends, Mike.  However, most of us think your friends are selling very expensive snake oil.  (As to those "elections," Mike:  which body confirms judges?  Hmmmmm????)

Mike ends his rant by hinting that the stock market's dive is also a result of Orange Man Bad.  Sure.  Yup.  Of course!!  It has nothing to do with ridiculous P/E ratios, or typical cyclical up/down, or Wall Street's "pump-and-dump" fraudsters, or stock buybacks using cash which should have gone to dividends, or any of that, Mike.  It's all Orange Man Bad.  Sure.  Yup.  Of course!!

Who knew that Mike Bloomberg was actually an NPC?

Hmmmm. "Plunge Protection" Already?

There has been a "Plunge Protection" team since the late 1980's, the purpose of which was to shore up the equities markets for political purposes.

Looks like there may be a reunion of the Old Boys' Club.

U.S. President Donald Trump’s Treasury secretary called top U.S. bankers on Sunday amid an ongoing rout on Wall Street and made plans to convene a group of officials known as the “Plunge Protection Team.”

...The Treasury said in a statement that Mnuchin talked with the chief executives of Bank of America (BAC.N), Citi (C.N), Goldman Sachs (GS.N), JP Morgan Chase (JPM.N), Morgan Stanley (MS.N) and Wells Fargo (WFC.N).

“The CEOs confirmed that they have ample liquidity available for lending,” the Treasury said.
Mnuchin “also confirmed that they have not experienced any clearance or margin issues and that the markets continue to function properly,” the Treasury said....
The indexes are down, yes....but that stuff happens.

Not sure I like what I see here.....

McConnell The Lying Sack

McConnell tries to pass the buck to Trump on The Wall.

He and the MSM hope you don't know 7th-grade Civics--you know, the part that says 'Congress writes the laws.'

Sure, he's hiding something!!   That's why the first time around it was a "voice vote" rather than a roll-call.  That was when McConnell and Ryan thought they had steamrolled Trump and the CITIZENS who VOTED HIM INTO OFFICE.

Now Cryin' Ryan is out.  Just co-incidence, of course.

Furloughed Fed Whine

One of the non-essential Federal employees was interviewed by NPR outside of a D.C.-area bar and grill after the layoff notice was served.

The poor fellow said that he 'doesn't think he's respected'; that apparently 'his work is not valued'.

Hard to believe that this came from someone with a man's voice, but there you are.

Fortunately, the NPR reporter had extra cheese.

Huawei: Communist Spy Machine

Stephen Mosher, who knows his way around Red China, essays on the spy-company called Huawei.

...But Huawei, which has been specially designated as a “national champion,” has an even more important assignment from the Communist Party than simply listening in on phone conversations.
As a global leader in 5G technology, it has been tasked with installing 5G “fiber to the phone” networks in countries around the world.

In fact, “Made in China 2025” — the party’s aggressive plan to dominate the cutting-edge technologies of the 21st century — singles out Huawei as the key to achieving global 5G dominance.

Any network system installed by a company working hand-in-glove with China’s intelligence services raises the danger of not only cyber espionage, but also cyber-enabled technology theft....

Unmentioned is another extremely serious possibility:  cyber-terrorism.

"Huh??" you say.

It's been proven in real life that a malicious actor can take control of a wireless-equipped car or truck and disable the power steering and power brakes.  The car will still have steering and brakes, but it will take a LOT more effort to make them work.  It could also simply shut down the entire car.  That would make a mess of I-80, ain'a?  And that's just the ground transportation system....

These are bad people, not merely fraudsters.  Murdering a few tens of millions of people is not moral problem for them at all.

Stephen Miller Gets It!

You have to hand it to this guy.

...White House senior policy adviser Stephen Miller summed up the president’s view during a Thursday night appearance with CNN’s Wolf Blitzer.

“This president got elected to get our foreign policy back on the right track after years of being adrift,” Miller said. “One foreign policy blunder after another in Iraq and Afghanistan and Libya hasn’t worked out for our national interest.”

“And let’s talk about Syria,” he added. “Let’s talk about the fact — ISIS is the enemy of Russia. ISIS is the enemy of Assad. ISIS is the enemy of Turkey. Are we supposed to stay in Syria for generation after generation, spilling American blood to fight the enemies of all those countries? Wolf, when did the American people sign up to be in every war in every place in every side of every conflict all over planet earth?”...

NPR found some general who claims to have 'advised' Trump in the past and who was clearly opposed to Trump's decision.  The discussion presented no compelling reason for remaining there, except the general's claim that 'we are giving the eastern half of Syria to Iran.'

Really, general?  And with 2,200 US troops we could prevent Iran's army from taking over that piece of desert?  Please!!  Explain how that works!!

Globalist Mattis Out. That's Fine.

Interesting little back-story here.

...Sixteen months ago, Mattis was riding high within a Trump Administration with a different makeup. In August 2017, he joined other top officials in getting the president to postpone carrying out his campaign promise to withdraw U.S. troops from Afghanistan.

“The game plan agreed upon at Camp David,” said a report in RealClearDefense, “was a triumph for Mattis and [then-national security adviser Lt. Gen. H.R.] McMaster...The two worked hand-in-hand with Secretary of State Rex Tillerson and Vice President Mike Pence.”...--Thos Spoehr, quoted at Greatness

Keep the troops in Afghanistan!!  Made McCain and Kaine happy, not to mention dozens of military suppliers and contractors.  Alexander the Great laughed bitterly, as did the ghosts of several British  and Russian generals.

Lt. Gen. Odom would disagree with the "luminaries" above.

The scholar, soldier and strategist whose words our government needs to consider most of all today is the late William Odom, who said presciently:

“Those who fear leaving a mess are actually helping make things worse while preventing a new strategic approach with some promise of success.”...
Mattis was noted for his questions about second- and third-stage effects of any given action, which questioning, like liquor, is a good thing when taken in moderation.  It's also a fast route to Analysis Paralysis.  It became clear that Trump wasn't going to settle for that, so Mattis resigned.

By the way, that's the same Mattis who was the Worst Possible Warmongering Appointment Ever Made by Trump, Presaging The End of the World and Death of Millions of Children and Kitties.  Remember?

The Drug-Dealer Relief Act: Wisconsin Record

If you are a raving Lefty, this bill is great.  If you are a drug dealer, this bill is great.

So which Wisconsin Congress-types voted for early release?

Sensenbrenner, Duffy, Grothman, and Ron Johnson.  There may have been more, but projectile vomit covered my screen.

This is after Duffy gave Vicki McKenna a runaround about how he had "grave reservations" about loosing more coke/meth/heroin dealers into the State.  Apparently Duffy was spraying foofoodust.

As usual, Grothman did whatever he was told by Paul Ryan.  ("Conservative"?  Don't make us laugh.)  There's no excuse for Sensenbrenner's action except--perhaps--senility.

Self-Driving Cars, Eh?

The usual idiots suspects at GM, Ford, and Chrysler are ballyhooing "self-driving" cars.  There will be no more vehicular accidents, no more car fatalities, no more property damage, and best of all, you can put on your makeup while driving to work.

See, the cars will be run by Super-Intelligent Computers!!

We all know nothing can go wrong with Super-Intelligent Computers, right?

Amazon's Super-Intelligent Computers should prove the case for self-driving cars.  No problem.

Or maybe not.

One of Amazon’s newest projects is researching ways to make Alexa a more human-like communicator for customers...

New research is making Alexa better mimic human response, Reuters reported Friday, citing people familiar with the matter....

One user, for instance, was surprised after Alexa said: “Kill your foster parents.” It’s not an isolated incident, according to Reuters....
Let's hope those foster parents were not walking near a self-driving car.

Chaos, Confusion, Mass Exodus of Top Officials

Yes, indeed.  Friends and enemies alike have no idea what will happen next.

Allies are shaken, the value of the entity drops, and Muh Russians take delight!

Business Insider reports that Tesla’s Director of Investor Relations, Aaron Chew, has departed the company meaning over 100 executives have left Elon Musk’s electric car manufacturer this year alone....

And you thought this was about Trump?

SoCal Highway Re-Named

News item sourced from Breitbart.

A five-mile section of the 134 Ventura freeway has been renamed after 44th President Barack Obama, who attended Occidental College in nearby Eagle Rock....

It is the longest highway in the world because it connects Nigeria with Indonesia.

Got Your Crying Towels Handy?

Bloomberg reports a horrible tragedy.

The richest people on Earth lost $511 billion this year after record first-half gains were obliterated by a succession of bruising market selloffs.

Global trade tensions and worries about a U.S. recession dragged markets lower at year-end, leaving the 500 people on the Bloomberg Billionaires Index with a combined net worth of $4.7 trillion as of Friday’s close. It’s only the second annual decline for the daily wealth index since its 2012 debut, and represents a sharp about-turn from the start of the year, when bullish investors helped propel the fortunes of the richest to a record $5.6 trillion....

Perhaps Paul Ryan and Mitch McConnell will devise a special welfare program for them.

Go Ahead. Make My Day

Now and then certain black-robed morons need a visual reminder.

Just a reminder, that's all.

A Christmas Present

Here's one Christmas present that most of us LOVE!!

HT:  Ace of Spades

Tommy Thompson Approves!

Well, that should settle the matter.

Tommy Thompson approves of Evers' pick for Transportation Secretary--a fellow who is a lobbyist for the RoadBuilders.

Tommy approves because there are still several hundred square inches of the State that Tommy didn't pave over while he was spending and bonding.

Picture Says 1,000 Words

This is a picture of the Apostolic Palace at night in Rome.

Until B-16 quit his job, that was the residence of the Pope.  Francis I lives elsewhere.

Yes, it's dark at and in the Apostolic Palace.

VERY dark there.

DHS' New Policy: "Catch and RETURN"!!!!

Well, now.  It's no wonder that the Democrats have gone crazy lately.

Secretary of State Mike Pompeo on Thursday predicted that a new plan to send illegal aliens back to Mexico to await the outcome of U.S. asylum applications will result in “a truly historic drop in illegal immigration,” since the prospect of being able to disappear into the U.S. will no longer be an incentive....

...Aliens crossing the southern border illegally, or arriving at a border port of entry without proper documentation and applying for asylum will be given a court date and “notice to appear” before being returned to Mexico....

...Section 235 of the Immigration and Naturalization Act of 1952 states that when an alien arrives on land from a foreign territory contiguous to the United States with a claim for asylum to be considered, “the Attorney General may return the alien to that territory pending a proceeding.”...

In combination with The Wall, this should reduce the Illegal Invasion by quite a bit.  The Democrats will always have California, which is the least-educated State in the USA; but it won't be quite so easy to capture Texas any more.

SchumerWailing warning.

Granny Brake-Lights Belling

He's on his damn "turn on your lights" hobby-horse.  He's not old enough to remember when there was only ONE rear light, in the center of the trunk, and it wasn't on too often.

No greater or lesser number of accidents then or now.

This is his fixation.

Maybe they should go back to taking calls from loose nuts.

Cong. Duffy: PAUL RYAN SCREWED US

Duffy's talking to McKenna as we type.

He makes it clear:  Paul Ryan ("leadership") has scheduled things in such a way that The Wall will be difficult to finance, partly having to do with internal (D) Party politics and partly because Ryan hates Trump and is stamping his widdle feets.

Which he can do.

Soon, Paul-Within-His-Walls will be knocking down $millions as a lobbyist.

Normal citizens will be paying his healthcare and pension.

But the Widdle Boy will be gone.

"Do No Evil--Unless It Pays Big!!"

At one time, Google's watchword was 'do no evil.'

Well, things have changed, eh?

....While [Google CEO] Pichai largely avoided any major missteps in his testimony—thanks mostly to the technological illiteracy of the questioners—even Google-friendly sources couldn’t help noticing his evasiveness on one key point: the infamous proposed partnership between Google and the Chinese government to build a censored search engine in line with Chinese government ideology—a project ominously code-named “Project Dragonfly.”

Most notably, Pichai absolutely refused to rule out making such a product, instead devolving to corporate doublespeak about being “committed to engagement,” whatever that means. He also tried to downplay Project Dragonfly, characterizing it merely as an “internal product,” rather than something under serious development.....

Red China is the world's single largest market, and Google isn't going to let a few silly "ethics" and "morals" get in the way of a very, very, rich payout.

Now, as Greatness asks:  how much will it take for Google to do this to YOU?

Rule of Law? Nope. That's History.

Frankly, I don't care that Emmett Sullivan made one good ruling in his lifetime 20 years ago.

He's a jackass-in-black, like the ones in the 9th Circus and Hawaii.

I pray that he will reap the whirlwind.  Too bad; he brought it on himself.

Duffy: Build the Wall AND Free the Criminals

Duffy's right, so Ryan will squash him like a bug.

This morning, Duffy suggested that if the President wants to free the Federal criminals who sell heroin, cocaine, meth, and fentanyl, then the President must build the wall.

Substitute "Democrat low-lifes" for "President" above.

Paul-Inside-His-Walls Ryan will delete Duffy's comments from the Republican conference being held this morning.

Kashich: Double-Down Dummy

This is just funny.

John Kasich, Son of Postman, wants Elon Musk to purchase the GM plant at Lordstown since Government Motors intends to shut it down.

Yah, well, John, you dummy.....Musk can't reliably manufacture cars in the plant he already has.  And--by the way--Musk doesn't like the UAW.

I think your father should have been a Governor and YOU should be a postman.

DePere Goes Wacky

One wonders why the DePere city council (or whatever) passed this stupid thing in the first place.

A Brown County judge has determined a De Pere ordinance barring discrimination based on gender identity infringes on the religious freedom of local churches.

The ordinance, approved by the De Pere City Council last year, prohibits employers, businesses and landlords from discriminating against people based on gender identity or expression. The protections cover those who identify as transgender and gender non-binary....

DePere:  the Wokest tiny town in the USA.

Trump Voters Like Wives 1 & 2

OK, so you voted for Trump because of The Wall?

Now you know about Trump promises.  You could have asked Maples or Ivana.

On the C.R.: Gutless Senate. Surprised?

Gee.  The Senate passed another spend-spend-spend bill WITHOUT the wall.

Voice vote.  That way you can't find out if your Senator doesn't want national security.

Slick slimeballs, eh?

New Jersey Is NOT Venezuela

We note that Venezuela, a well-developed country, is now a s&^%hole.

...It is amazing that you could provoke an economic collapse in a place like Venezuela, where fertile soil and abundant rain are matched with equatorial sun; and where, on top of that, there is also a strong supply of oil wealth....--Grim's Hall

There is a former bus-driver Communist running the country, which is the immediate cause of the demolition.  But there was an antecedent cause which paved the way for this guy.

...The “Control of Arms, Munitions and Disarmament Law,” with the explicit aim to “disarm all citizens” was enacted by the Venezuelan National Assembly in 2012, under the direction of then-President Hugo Chavez. The law ended legal sale of firearms to all but government entities...
To keep the citizens in line, government-backed motorcycle gangs, known as s “collectivos,” were created. So while the citizens were unarmed, the Chavez-created “collectivos” were legally armed by the powers that be, sowing violence wherever a protest might break out. The gangs were able to “brutally subjugate opposition groups” according to the Fox News report, but they also allowed fro some plausible deniability, as they weren’t officially government forces....

So what about New Jersey?  Well, that's a different story, we're happy to report!!

The moonbats running New Jersey have cracked down on the Second Amendment right of self-defense by forbidding citizens to own a magazine that holds more than 10 rounds. A regular Glock magazine holds 17 rounds. Gun owners were given 180 days to comply; time was up on December 11....

Then, quoting Ammoland....

...[N]ot a single magazine has been turned in to any local law-enforcement agencies, according to responses obtained from Ammoland’s John Crump: “Ammoland reached out to several local police departments in New Jersey to see how they plan on enforcing the ban, and [to learn] what the turn-in numbers have been [as of December 14]. Like the New Jersey State Police, none of these departments have a concrete plan on how to proactively enforce the ban, and none had a single report of magazines being turned over.”...

Cold, dead, hands.

There are reports that Nancy Nabob and Chuck-fat Schumer have disarmament plans for the country beginning early next year.

Come and get them, girlzzzz.

Yes, The "Elite" Are Mad-Dog Mad

Not angry.  Mad, as in distemper foam-at-the-mouth-and-brain-fevered mad.

They actually believe this crap about the Russians:

"They have played on the themes of far-right conspiracy theories of the 1960s, the John Birch Society, a sideline group. These are the farthest extremes of the libertarian parties. They have amplified racism to the point where the alt-right, Steve Bannon’s own creation of gamers is now the wholly owned subsidiary of the Trump campaign and are believers in David Duke, the KKK, the neo Nazi Richard Spencer and Robert Spencer the Islamophobe to the point where they’re mainstreamed. This is how effective this information warfare campaign has been carried out. And let me tell you, this report shows how they went after to suppress the African American vote and there’s no doubt in my mind or anyone else’s in the intelligence community that doesn’t believe that it took American citizens to assist them in really getting down to where these voters were who needed to be suppressed.”

Oh, by the way, Trump was part of the conspiracy beginning around 2011.

Senator Ron Johnson believes that $4700.00 in ad-buys on Facebook and Tweeter (whatever) were enough to throw the election.

OK, then.

Evers Will Raise Taxes. Surprise!!

Evers will show up in Milwaukee to "listen" to lobbyists and Commie activists (sorry, no more room available for taxpaying subjects) about how Wisconsin should spend MO' MONEY!

Read between the lines here:

“No expectations about the bottom line,” Evers said. “Our hope is to obviously keep taxes at a reasonable level and hopefully not raise them at all, but there's lots of needs out there.”
Maybe it's just me, but "the will of the people" looks like a 66/33 (R) Assembly and a 19/14 (R) Senate.

Go piss up a rope, Tony.

Holier-Than-Thou Projection

Apparently this guy has ...ahhhh.....nasty tendencies.

“Kill yourself,” a Democrat State senator tweeted to Republican State Senate Majority Communications Director Candice Giove on Tuesday.

Democrat Kevin Parker posted the tweet in response to Giove’s complaint about his parking...

So?  A Democrat politician fantasizing about dead Republicans?   Ehhhh???

This particular Holier-Than-Thou poser is the one who proposed a new law whereby New York State will force you to give up your social-media passwords so they can "check for violent tendencies" before issuing a permit to carry.

Generally, Democrats "project" their own faults and assume that everyone has the same ones.  That's how they decide what laws and regulations must be applied to citizens (or subjects.....)  This Democrat has a 'kill' fetish.

So does Parker want a permit?

Heh.

Get Woke, Go Broke: Municipal Edition

AlGore has a G-5 to catch to get out of town fast....

...Former Vice President Al Gore hailed the city of Georgetown, Texas, for powering itself with only solar and wind energy, but now the city is losing millions on its green energy gamble.

Georgetown’s bet against fossil fuel prices cost the city-owned utility nearly $7 million this year, and prompted officials to look for a way out of their long-term contracts for solar and wind energy....
This is one of the few places which actually needs and wants a lump of coal for Christmas.

Tammy's Violent Revolutionary Pal

Well, well, well.

....in his professional capacity as [Joseph] Alcoff, he’s been quoted in press releases from Democratic Sens. Dianne Feinstein of California and Tammy Baldwin of Wisconsin and appeared at an event with Democratic Rep. Don Beyer of Virginia outside the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau in March and has been pictured alongside Ohio Democratic Sen. Sherrod Brown and California Democratic Rep. Maxine Waters....

OK, he's lobbying against payday loans and hangs around with the National Lawyers' Guild (a Communist front since its founding.)  So what?

...Smash Racism DC organizer Jose Martin, also known as “Chepe,” is a radical communist and Antifa leader operating in the U.S. He advocates for the violent overthrow of the government and for the murder of the rich and claims to have international involvement in left-wing movements.

Smash Racism DC is the Antifa group that protested in front of Fox News host Tucker Carlson’s house and berated Sen. Ted Cruz at a restaurant until he and his wife were forced to leave....

Yup.  He made up two 'alternative' names, one for the propaganda effort and another for breaking things and smashing people.

Tammy's pal.

Surprised?  If you are, you're even dumber than Tammy.

Orange Man? Global Warming??

This is "news."

Saturn is losing its signature rings at a "worst-case scenario" rate, said NASA scientists, and the bands could disappear completely within 100 million years.

Doesn't say Trump did it, nor global warming.

So it cannot be an emergency.

The Substance of Pp. Francis

It can't be said that this guy is a 'friendly' on Francis.

Take Bergoglio, for example. His studies amount to nothing substantial. The Jesuits over here (in Argentina) have no professors worthy of the name, the subjects were tossed about in an un-scholarly manner, the philosophy would never be properly taught (and, it would only be crassly digested Suárez in the best of cases). The theology seats had been all but captured by badly trained Jesuits who were prone to repeat the last of Teilhard’s work, or Rahner’s, when not divulging the Liberation Theology’s tenets (the Nouvelle Theologie never made it over here, few people could read French or German, and St. Thomas was all but perfectly ignored).

So what does Bergoglio know? With that sort of training, pretty much nothing. No Latin, no languages at all, for that matter. His Italian is awful, not a word of English, no French, let alone his clumsy Spanish! (I wonder what on earth he studied in Germany for a couple of months, as is reported, because, for that matter, he knows no German either. And he certainly did not earn a degree over there.)  --Jack Tollers quoted at Deus Ex Machina
Recently, Cdl Cupich came here to lecture Abp Listecki and a couple dozen other victims on "The theology of Francis' or some such foodaddle.

If the above is correct, the lecture lasted 10 minutes, max.

The Assaulting Jesuits

The Midwest Jesuit province released a list of their members who had credible accusations of sexual misconduct.  I knew a couple of those guys, and I know a couple of  homosexual Jesuits NOT listed there, too.

Anyhow, the Jesuit who is committing the most notorious assaults is not from the USA.

He's living in Rome under the name Francis I.  He's assaulting doctrine, marriage, and families.

Not to worry.  He won't be re-assigned to the Rosebud Indian Mission in South Dakota like a lot of those Jesuit priests were.  (What do the Jesuits have against the Indians, by the way?)

Trump Resigning?

It is reported that the President will not hold out for a wall.

All hail, President Mike Pence!

Ken Schetter Is Right

Several years ago we were very well-acquainted with this neighborhood.  It's still a very nice area.  Except for.....

Ken Schetter of Shetter's [sic] Automotive says the catalytic converter on a Honda on his lot was stolen overnight Sunday and it's not the first time it's happened.

In a Facebook post Monday, Schetter said:

"Arriving at our business this morning on the corner of Howell and Oklahoma, we found numerous vehicles vandalized and a few cars with catalytic converters cut out of cars. This seems to be a recurring problem
....

Well, then, Ken, what about it?

...So, FYI, we are now going to be actively HOPING we have someone come try this again. We confident that the second amendment and our concealed carry licenses will allow us to protect our property and our customers property. Please, we welcome these scumbags to return to our business. They will not be met with kindness, forgiveness, or understanding."...
Ah!!  The High-Speed Lead Solution!!  The Taxpayer-Relief Shot!!

Since it's Milwaukee, the usual busybody hens are a-clucking.

..."I adore Ken and I adore his business, I understand his frustration but as a community member guns don't solve any problems," said neighbor Carrie Sullivan....
Tell you what, Carrie:  you take the overnight guard-shift OR pay Ken's casualty-insurance bills, and Ken will keep his guns at home while he sleeps soundly.

Deal, Carrie??

Pete Hill, UW-W's Honorary LIAR

A "psychology professor" married a handsy perv (far beyond Joe Biden territory) and doesn't notice his little problem?

She's going to "teach psychology??"  She'd be far more credible if she were teaching "Stupid Wife Tricks."

Meantime, Mr. Feel-em-Up has his own problems:

[Pete] Hill, through his attorney, "vehemently denied" any wrongdoing to UW System's independent investigator.

He lies.

When he was 18, 19, 22, his actions would have been shameful and stupid but not likely prosecuted.  At his current age, they are shameful, stupid, dreadful, and pathetic.  He's not being prosecuted today, either, and he can thank God for that small favor.  He can also thank God that fathers don't shoot people like him on sight.

Send Them to Tammy's Neighborhood!

The story:

The Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agency arrested more than 6,500 illegal aliens who have been convicted of homicide and sexual offenses in Fiscal Year 2018.

Tammy doesn't want The Wall, of course.  In her alleged 'mind' the US owes all immigrants housing, food, medical care, and good jobs.

Well, then, how about we send all 6,500 of tho rapists and murderers to Madison, where Tammy lives?  Hell, put them in her neighborhood!  We know that 80+% of her neighbors voted for Tammy, so they certainly won't mind, either.  They could organize cooking and baking circles just for the murderers and rapists that Tammy so desperately wants here in the US.

I'm sure that she will see to it that they are taken care of.

"Mercy" Over "Justice" Primacy? Really??

Pp. Francis, continuing his crusade against Catholic doctrine, came up with a strange one.

...“Even in the Papal States, this inhuman form of punishment has been resorted to, ignoring the primacy of mercy over justice.”...

Catholics are hardly alone in teaching that God is the Perfection of Mercy AND Justice.  There is no 'primacy' in that equality.  It is conceded that mere humans, such as Pp. Francis, cannot understand this; it is mysterious.

As Taylor Marshall has demonstrated (and he's hardly alone on this; see Ed Feser for another take), capital punishment was enshrined in the Old Testament and is affirmed in the New; St Paul conceded that the State had the authority FROM GOD to execute Paul himself for certain transgressions.

That "from God" trips another question.  We know that marriage is also "from God", right?  Does it seem to you that Francis has a problem with that which is "from God"?  He's loosey-goosey on adultery, and now doesn't seem to care much for justice.  He's pushing "synodality", which as Cdl. Burke reminds us, is another indisputable doctrine directly from the lips of Jesus.

What is it with this guy??

Hmmmmmm???

The Suicide Sermon

This is represented to be the sermon preached in the case of an 18-year-old suicide in Michigan.

It did not meet the desires of the Mommy or Daddy of the suicide, who were looking for a lot more ObamaRainbowsPixieDust and a lot less doctrine.

Even then, this can hardly be considered Mean or Cruel.  Except by a hysterical Mommy who missed every single Catholic Doctrine class ever given and caused her husband to make a fool of himself during Mass.

My heart goes out to you, Mr. & Mrs. [REDACTED], and to you [REDACTED]'s siblings [REDACTED], to Grandma [REDACTED] [REDACATED]'s many aunts & uncles & cousins.

It is with great difficulty that I stand before you knowing the pain and anguish you are going through. But I am aware, as well, that I am only a humble, unworthy mouthpiece. I ask God to use my words to bring the light, comfort and healing you need. Is there any hope to offer in this moment? Must we
only speak of our profound grief, our indescribable sorrow, even our anger and confusion at how such
a thing could have happened? Is there any word from God that might break into our darkness like a ray of light? Yes, yes, a thousand times.

If we Christians are right in believing that salvation belongs to Jesus Christ, that it does not come from us--and that our hand cannot stop what God allows for us, then yes, there is hope in eternity even for those who take their own lives.

Having said that, I think that we must not call what is bad good, what is wrong
right. Because we are Christians, we must say what we know is the truth –that taking
your own life is against God who made us and against everyone who loves us.
Our lives are not our own. They are not ours to do with as we please.God gave us life, and
we are to be good stewards of that gift for as long as God permits. The finality of suicide makes this all the worse. You cannot make things right again. Neither can [REDACTED].
(PDF plays havoc with Blogger.  Read the rest at the link.)

Frankly, that sermon is jam-packed with sympathy and encouragement.  Kudos to Fr. LaCuesta!!

The RoadBuilders KILL POLAR BEARS!!!

You may have differences with the RoadBuilder lobby because they really, really, really, like taking your money and stuffing it into their pockets, preferably with sneaky little "self-increasing" gasoline taxes.

(Never mind the fact that many Wisconsin highways are deserted for most of the day; see Hy 151 southwest of Madistan and Hy 26 south of Jefferson).  But I digress.

The REAL objection to the RoadBuilders?

Concrete is the most widely used man-made material in existence. It is second only to water as the most-consumed resource on the planet.

But, while cement - the key ingredient in concrete - has shaped much of our built environment, it also has a massive carbon footprint.

Cement is the source of about 8% of the world's carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions, according to think tank Chatham House.

If the cement industry were a country, it would be the third largest emitter in the world - behind China and the US. It contributes more CO2 than aviation fuel (2.5%) and is not far behind the global agriculture business (12%).
They kill baby seals, polar bears, and kittens!!!

V. D. Hanson Goes Ballistic. He's Right.

Little more need be said, and it certainly cannot be said better than how Hanson does it.

....The globalist alone knows how global warming threatens us and how the ignorant masses must sacrifice to cool things down, how nationalism supposedly causes world wars, how sexism, racism, and homophobia have warped Western, but non-necessarily non-Western, society, and how human nature can be modified to avoid these pathologies through greater coercion, more relevant social education, improved material conditions, and greater secular ecumenicalism—a far better religion than calcified Christendom. The Western consumer—fat, “lazy,” played out—surely does not need any more affluence or income. His nation, therefore, can afford to subsidize, through his superfluous lifestyle, far nobler international crusades for mankind.

The nation-state then is passé. Transnational organizations, the larger and more powerful the better, tame mindless Western chauvinism, while enhancing and making invaluable alternative post-Western paradigms. The Secretary-General of the United Nations, the chief executive officer of the World Bank, the Secretary-General of NATO, the Director-General of the World Trade Organization, a Nobel Peace Prize Laureate, the President of the Council of Foreign Relations, the president of CNN Worldwide, all these are certainly to be listened to in a way an elected senator from Kansas, the nuts who stirred up the gilets jaunes, the unhinged Poles and Bulgarians who wanted to build fences on their borders, or renegade British MPs pushing for Brexit should not be....

There's a breaking point coming soon.

It is NOT co-incidence that the Elite Globalist Cabal is ripping the "Rule of Law" to shreds in the US with its unhinged, maniacal prosecutions of Trump-people and patriots (like Mike Flynn), nor that the current Pope is ripping the Roman Catholic Church to shreds with contradictions of established doctrine (see the 'death penalty' e.g.)

If you look at the financing for all of this demolition (completed, in-process, or attempted), you'll find that it comes from .......ahhh........suspicious.........sources, ALL of which are card-carrying anti-Catholic (ergo, anti-Christian) sources, no matter that some claim to be 'Christian' or "Catholic."

It's not what they say.  It's what they do that counts.

"News"? It's Just Entertainment TeeVee

The local SeeBeeEss outlet managed to run another dark-toned/dark-voiced story on The Shutdown.

It's the End of the World as we Know It, ya'know, and they're going to pound this thing until we all understand that Orange Man Kills Kittens, Children, and Others of Whatever Stripe, then Serves Them Up for Christmas Dinner at Mar-a-Lago.

Yah, right, OK.

It's not a "shutdown."  It's really a partial eclipse; 80% of Mordor on the Potomac continues to occupy your businesses and homes, oppress your initiative, and line its pockets with your earnings.  And when the 20% (classified as 'non-essential') return to their task, they get ALL the salary that they lost.

It's really a Christmas bonus:  no work, all pay!!

But the Masses need Entertainment.  So the Dark Voices will continue to bray:  Orange Man Bad!!  Orange Man Bad!!!  Orange Man Bad!!

Hey, NFL!! I Have a Suggestion for Halftime!!!

It is reported that the NFL is scratching to find a music act to fill halftime at the Super Bowl.

Question:  what actual football fan gives a flying fart about "half-time acts"?

It seems that this "act" stuff was dreamed up by some NFL poohbah's wife.  That's nice.

Maybe the NFL should consider hiring the Hallmark Channel to produce their half-time entertainment  and REALLY alienate the remaining football fans.

"Statement Released by Lawyers": I Smell Rotting Corpses

Some guy who does NOT deserve the title "father" dragged his 7-year-old daughter through a desert and did not feed her, nor give her water, for seven days or so.

She arrives here (illegally, of course) and her body finally gives up.

Now some lawyers release a statement accusing Border Patrol of negligent homicide.

Some lawyers are perfectly happy to find rotting corpses.  It's their natural habitat.

Go National, Lose Your Seat

There have been a lot of rumbles about how Walker could have lost the race.

Norquist has some thoughts on OTHER races which might apply here, too, but as usual, there are a lot of reasons, not just one or two.

Grover Norquist, founder of Americans for Tax Reform, said that President Trump was not to blame for many Republicans losing their seats to Democrats.

He singled out Rep. Dana Rohrabacher, R-Calif., who last month lost the Orange County seat he had held since 1989.

“Trump is not the reason Dana Rohrabacher didn’t do any work,” Grover Norquist told the Washington Examiner editorial board. “Dana hasn’t done any work since before he could spell 'Trump' in that seat.”

Norquist, a veteran conservative activist, linked Rohrabacher, who will cease being the representative for California's 48th Congressional District next month, to other Republicans who concentrated on building a national image rather than focusing on their districts...

Hmmmmm.

Soros, Obozo, and Pp. Francis

Interesting little item here.

The writer begins by questioning the Aussie Gummint's trial of Cdl. George Pell.  This trial was about allegations of abuse dating back quite some time.  But that's not the controversy.  The controversy is that Australia declared that the trial (and its result) be kept secret.

Huh?  Secret?

Well, we all know that Pell was found guilty and intends to appeal.

But maybe abusing boys was not Pell's real crime.

See, good ol' George Soros apparently has tossed more than a few bucks into the Vatican's lap and those bucks were not reported on the Vatican balance sheet.  The money was discovered by Pell--but suddenly (!!) there were accusations (!!) back in Australia and Pell had to leave Rome. (!!_

You'll find it curious, too, that the Vatican's auditor had been wiretapped and suddenly the Vatican's outside audit firm stopped work at the direction of Cdl. Parolin, the Secretary of State (#2 most powerful man in Rome.)

Hmmmm.

Meantime, it's also revealed that the NSA (under Obama) has been tapping the phones of a lot of Catholic heavyweights, including Pp. Benedict and (ta-da!!) Cdl. Bergoglio (now Pp. Francis.)

Well.  We know that Soros has to be very pleased with Francis' yappaflappa about 'taking in refugees' (no matter how many of your citizens they kill) and "borderless world" and the Menace of Warming, etc., etc., ad nauseam.

Think all that money may have had something to do with all this?

If not, then think again.

UW-Whitewater Chancellor Fired

We Normies got word a couple hours ago that the Chancellor(ette) of UW-Whitewater, whose husband was a GrabAss Master, has been canned.

The cause has not been announced, but we'd suggest "Gross Stupidity."

Abortion, Inc. vs. Little Sisters--AGAIN!

You already KNOW which appeals-court has ruled that the Little Sisters of the Poor must (again) pay for abortion and birth-control.

So that SCOTUS thing?  To California, Washington, Pennsylvania, and Massachusetts, that means nothing.

And The Enlightened Ones wonder why there's anger out here in flyover country.

The Reality of the Clintons

Ah, the good old days.

I had a subscription to The American Spectator when the Clinton series ran (roughly 1994.)

Due to the content I had to keep those copies where my children couldn't find them.

The links in this essay will be eye-opening for the younger folks who read this blog; there IS a reason that we couldn't vote for the wrinkled bitch that "married" Bill.

Clickbait TeeVee

Here you thought 'clickbait' was just for the intertubes.

Wrong, bucko!!

Now there's some underwear outfit running TeeVee ads featuring a young, attractive couple standing around in the kitchen wearing ..........underwear.

Just like all of us do, every day.

Between that and the miscegenation craze (BMO is the latest on that wagon) one wonders if The TeeVee Twits are trying to drive us all back to printed stuff.  Like, say, Brave New World, or A Day in the Life, or On Being Human.

For Review: First Inaugural

Ace's Overnight thread included this excellent address.

Chief Justice Roberts, President Carter, President Clinton, President Bush, President Obama, fellow Americans, and people of the world: thank you.We, the citizens of America, are now joined in a great national effort to rebuild our country and to restore its promise for all of our people.

Together, we will determine the course of America and the world for years to come.

We will face challenges. We will confront hardships. But we will get the job done.

Every four years, we gather on these steps to carry out the orderly and peaceful transfer of power, and we are grateful to President Obama and First Lady Michelle Obama for their gracious aid throughout this transition. They have been magnificent.

Today’s ceremony, however, has very special meaning. Because today we are not merely transferring power from one Administration to another, or from one party to another – but we are transferring power from Washington, D.C. and giving it back to you, the American People.

For too long, a small group in our nation’s Capital has reaped the rewards of government while the people have borne the cost.

Washington flourished – but the people did not share in its wealth.

Politicians prospered – but the jobs left, and the factories closed.

The establishment protected itself, but not the citizens of our country.

Their victories have not been your victories; their triumphs have not been your triumphs; and while they celebrated in our nation’s Capital, there was little to celebrate for struggling families all across our land.

That all changes – starting right here, and right now, because this moment is your moment: it belongs to you.

It belongs to everyone gathered here today and everyone watching all across America.

This is your day. This is your celebration.

And this, the United States of America, is your country.

What truly matters is not which party controls our government, but whether our government is controlled by the people.

January 20th 2017, will be remembered as the day the people became the rulers of this nation again.

The forgotten men and women of our country will be forgotten no longer.

Everyone is listening to you now.

You came by the tens of millions to become part of a historic movement the likes of which the world has never seen before.

At the center of this movement is a crucial conviction: that a nation exists to serve its citizens.

Americans want great schools for their children, safe neighborhoods for their families, and good jobs for themselves.

These are the just and reasonable demands of a righteous public.

But for too many of our citizens, a different reality exists: Mothers and children trapped in poverty in our inner cities; rusted-out factories scattered like tombstones across the landscape of our nation; an education system, flush with cash, but which leaves our young and beautiful students deprived of knowledge; and the crime and gangs and drugs that have stolen too many lives and robbed our country of so much unrealized potential.

This American carnage stops right here and stops right now.

We are one nation – and their pain is our pain. Their dreams are our dreams; and their success will be our success. We share one heart, one home, and one glorious destiny.

The oath of office I take today is an oath of allegiance to all Americans.

For many decades, we’ve enriched foreign industry at the expense of American industry;

Subsidized the armies of other countries while allowing for the very sad depletion of our military;

We’ve defended other nation’s borders while refusing to defend our own;

And spent trillions of dollars overseas while America’s infrastructure has fallen into disrepair and decay.

We’ve made other countries rich while the wealth, strength, and confidence of our country has disappeared over the horizon.

One by one, the factories shuttered and left our shores, with not even a thought about the millions upon millions of American workers left behind.

The wealth of our middle class has been ripped from their homes and then redistributed across the entire world.

But that is the past. And now we are looking only to the future.

We assembled here today are issuing a new decree to be heard in every city, in every foreign capital, and in every hall of power.

From this day forward, a new vision will govern our land.

From this moment on, it’s going to be America First.

Every decision on trade, on taxes, on immigration, on foreign affairs, will be made to benefit American workers and American families.

We must protect our borders from the ravages of other countries making our products, stealing our companies, and destroying our jobs. Protection will lead to great prosperity and strength.

I will fight for you with every breath in my body – and I will never, ever let you down.

America will start winning again, winning like never before.

We will bring back our jobs. We will bring back our borders. We will bring back our wealth. And we will bring back our dreams.

We will build new roads, and highways, and bridges, and airports, and tunnels, and railways all across our wonderful nation.

We will get our people off of welfare and back to work – rebuilding our country with American hands and American labor.

We will follow two simple rules: Buy American and Hire American.

We will seek friendship and goodwill with the nations of the world – but we do so with the understanding that it is the right of all nations to put their own interests first.

We do not seek to impose our way of life on anyone, but rather to let it shine as an example for everyone to follow.

We will reinforce old alliances and form new ones – and unite the civilized world against Radical Islamic Terrorism, which we will eradicate completely from the face of the Earth.

At the bedrock of our politics will be a total allegiance to the United States of America, and through our loyalty to our country, we will rediscover our loyalty to each other.

When you open your heart to patriotism, there is no room for prejudice.

The Bible tells us, “how good and pleasant it is when God’s people live together in unity.”

We must speak our minds openly, debate our disagreements honestly, but always pursue solidarity.

When America is united, America is totally unstoppable.

There should be no fear – we are protected, and we will always be protected.

We will be protected by the great men and women of our military and law enforcement and, most importantly, we are protected by God.

Finally, we must think big and dream even bigger.

In America, we understand that a nation is only living as long as it is striving.

We will no longer accept politicians who are all talk and no action – constantly complaining but never doing anything about it.

The time for empty talk is over.

Now arrives the hour of action.

Do not let anyone tell you it cannot be done. No challenge can match the heart and fight and spirit of America.

We will not fail. Our country will thrive and prosper again.

We stand at the birth of a new millennium, ready to unlock the mysteries of space, to free the Earth from the miseries of disease, and to harness the energies, industries and technologies of tomorrow.

A new national pride will stir our souls, lift our sights, and heal our divisions.

It is time to remember that old wisdom our soldiers will never forget: that whether we are black or brown or white, we all bleed the same red blood of patriots, we all enjoy the same glorious freedoms, and we all salute the same great American Flag.

And whether a child is born in the urban sprawl of Detroit or the windswept plains of Nebraska, they look up at the same night sky, they fill their heart with the same dreams, and they are infused with the breath of life by the same almighty Creator.

So to all Americans, in every city near and far, small and large, from mountain to mountain, and from ocean to ocean, hear these words:

You will never be ignored again.

Your voice, your hopes, and your dreams, will define our American destiny. And your courage and goodness and love will forever guide us along the way.

Together, We Will Make America Strong Again.

We Will Make America Wealthy Again.

We Will Make America Proud Again.

We Will Make America Safe Again.

And, Yes, Together, We Will Make America Great Again. Thank you, God Bless You, And God Bless America

There are some right here in Wisconsin who think this guy is a "wannabe dictator" and that his ideas must be fought and buried.

Well.  We'll see just who gets buried.

Poem for the Present Day?

Mundabor brings us a little offering from Kipling.

It was not part of their blood, It came to them very late, With long arrears to make good, When the Saxon began to hate. They were not easily moved, They were icy — willing to wait Till every count should be proved, Ere the Saxon began to hate. Their voices were even and low. Their eyes were level and straight. There was neither sign nor show When the Saxon began to hate. It was not preached to the crowd. It was not taught by the state. No man spoke it aloud When the Saxon began to hate. It was not suddently bred. It will not swiftly abate. Through the chilled years ahead, When Time shall count from the date That the Saxon began to hate.
Earlier today, a talk-show hostess asked whether things are going so badly in this world that they will simply come apart soon.  That was after she noticed a story about Road-Rage-With-Shooting in Germantown, WI.--a most unlikely spot for such stuff.

We are assured that 'things will come apart,' of course.  But we never want it to be on our watch.

And we never want to be the Saxon, but it's darn difficult to maintain an even temper some days.
