This Is Wrong Because....?????...

The fellow has strong opinions.

In a now-deleted tweet Saturday, West Virginia's Michael Folk told Hillary Clinton she "should be tried for treason, murder and crimes against the US Constitution...then hung on the Mall in Washington, DC."

Folk is a member of West Virginia's House of Delegates

Assuming she's found guilty of treason, we'd have to build a scaffold on the Mall.

Other than that, what's the problem??

(D) McCaskill Appears To Be Shady

Evidently Senator McCaskill (D-Shadyland) thinks that she's not required to tell the truth.  That's because she's a Democrat, I suppose.

Not only did she lie like Hell about "never" having met with the Russki ambassador (in fact, she had a nice black-tie DINNER with the guy)--she also didn't bother to disclose a family foundation which paid for that dinner-ticket.

Which raises another question:  why is this old prune paying large money from what amounts to a "secret" account to hobnob with the Russians??

You all recall that McCaskill also had the habit of using US taxpayer funds for political purposes and sorta-kinda "forgot" to pay almost $300 GRAND in taxes.

She's what the Democrats call 'a virtuous champion of the forgotten blue-collar man.'

Uh-huh.

Egg McMuffin Needs Support, Charlie Sykes!

(We note that Charlie has left the building.)

It should be said that Charlie was a consistent NeverTrumper--so consistent that he voted for a Deep State nobody named Evan McMullin.  There were others who did what Charlie did.

McMullin--the Deep State guy--has gone to Cocoa Puffs-land:  Tuesday night, after Trump tweeted something about Obozo not having thwarted the Russians in their effort to upend US elections, McMullin tweeted a reply:

Says America's first Russian president...

Umnnhhhh.....yah.  OK, then.

Why Yes, the Feeb Lied. Of Course!

The Finicum affair.  Turns out an FBI agent lied.  Prolly thought he was James Comey, or something.

Anthem Loves Gummint Money!

Surprise!!  A health-insurance provider loves to get taxpayer money.

So they say that the Senate bill (already a failure, by the way) will "stabilize the market."

What they really mean is "Stabilize Anthem's Checkbook."

Yah, well, $100 BILLION would stabilize my checkbook, too.

How (D) Slime Ooozes

In case you're wondering how the slime-that-is-Democrat manages to continue oozing around in Washington DC (and for that matter, Madison, WI), this is the model:

...Democrats, however, want nothing to do with the discussion about growing entitlement spending.
On Fox News Sunday, Brit Hume asked Senator Dick Durbin, D-Ill., to address Medicaid sustainability.

Durbin responded with a dodge, nevertheless, Hume persisted: "Is not Medicaid expanding at an unsustainable rate and does not something have to be done… to curb the growth of this program and others like it?"

Durbin responded, "Brit, let me tell you what is expanding at an unsustainable rate, and that is the notion that people would not have health insurance under this Republican approach."...

Durbin is one reason for the appellation "FIB."  But he's merely one of the legion infesting Congress.  And if he goes, seven more--who are worse--will take his place.

See, Paul Ryan, THIS Is How It's Done

At this point, the House Pubbies are merely watching.  They could learn something.

...Shedding his reputation as one of the Senate’s most contentious members, he has already suggested one possible middle-ground compromise: an amendment allowing insurers to offer some plans that don’t comply with Obamacare’s mandates, as long as they maintain at least one plan that does conform to the requirements. This is a clever compromise on the part of Cruz....

Notice that the truly Conservative position is enshrined in the compromise, as is the Lefty-wanker one?

Others--in the House, for instance, should learn from this.  Right, Paul Ryan??

(I know Paul's not a "conservative" by any stretch of the imagination, so he doesn't have to take this seriously.  Neither did Hillary....)

The Cuba That Obozo Loves

THIS is the Cuba that Obama loves, folks.

Over thirty members of the Ladies in White, a peaceful Catholic dissident group in Cuba, were violently arrested over the weekend for attempting to attend Sunday Mass, including leader Berta Soler....

...This weekend, the group had planned to attend the weekly Mass at their local Havana church but, according to a Diario de Cuba note denouncing the arrests, most were arrested on their way out of their homes. In Soler’s case, according to Lady in White Daisy Artiles, five uniformed Cuban police officers apprehended her while leaving the house “holding a sign demanding freedom for political prisoners.”

“They took her sign away violently and dragged her into a car,” Artiles said. “Then a mob began to yell obscenities at us...

Nothing like a Commie dictatorship in the Americas to get Obozo's jeans all aroused.

Thank you, Donald Trump, for kicking Castro in the nuts.

Is Ed Flynn Making It Up?

'Fast Eddie' Flynn, Milwaukee top cop (and a lefty), claims that concealed-carry license holders are using their carry permits (and guns) to help big-time drug dealers in Milwaukee.

Mike Crivello, the police-union guy, says "Wut???"

Flynn says he can't reveal the facts because of 'the law.'

Hmmmmm.

Serious National Security Problem in (D) House Caucus

The Daily Caller has been on this story for months.  (Fox6 Milwaukee has not; they're busy swallowing Muslim propaganda.)

It's not a complicated story.  Wasserman-Schultz hired a bunch of Pakistani citizens to run all the (D) caucus' IT functions.  ALL OF THEM.  National security?  Balderdash!!  The Pakis have administrative privileges on ALL THE IT for the Democrats.

Trump's Administration--so far--doesn't give a rotten damn.

Curious, eh?

Milwaukee "Hate Crime": More BS?

Most of us recall the incident--an older woman was attacked after praying at her mosque one day in April.

The Press (including the reliably-Lefty Channel 6) swallowed the story given by the Usual Suspect Muslim Propaganda Bunch.  (In fact, the Muslim who spread the story used to be employed by a Hamas-affiliated entity.  Hamas is a terrorist organization, folks.)

Anyhow, the police reports completely contradict the "anti-Muslim" crapola fed to us by Ted Perry's bunch of bozos.

Hey, Rob Reiner! BRING IT!

A fat and sloppy Hollywood twit wants "all-out war" on Trump.

Bring it, jackass.

The Failure of "R" Healthcare: Takings

Eric Erickson's analysis can be reduced to this:

...Essentially, the Senate Republicans, like their House counterparts, are conceding that the legislation must be about access to healthcare and have consequently abandoned the goal of trying to lower the costs of healthcare. As a result, the legislation does not really fix anything that Obamacare broke. It is a tinkering and tickling of Obamacare. Importantly, however, the moment the GOP passes it, the Democrats will be able to blame shift. Every Obamacare problem will still exist after this legislation is passed, but suddenly the GOP will own all those problems. Every terrible headline will suddenly be about Trumpcare, not Obamacare....

RoJo is trying to change that "costs" problem, to a limited degree; he sees the Medicaid solution that has worked in Wisconsin and wants it to be a national option.  But even RoJo has conceded the premise:  "healthcare" is a right which taxpayers will pay for no matter the cost.  Such a construct is wrong, for it eliminates charity in favor of takings (from taxpayers).

This "takings" is the soul and lifeblood of the Leviathan in Mordor-on-the-Potomac, of course.  It will never go away at the hand of politicians.  By others, maybe.

RoJo's Still Objecting!!

And that's a good thing.

Just heard him on McKenna's show; the Senate ObozoCare "replacement" sucks.  Unless--like McConnell--you like throwing Large Money at every problem (which means that McConnell retains control over your life.)

Don't like Slimy Mitch controlling your life?  Or even worse, Schumer controlling it?

Fix the Senate bill.  Thanks, Ron!!

So. Was 1776-ffd. Just a Waste of Blood?

Here's the takeaway line from a review of a book on Administrative Law (which is what you ACTUALLY have to obey in the US.)

...“Hamburger makes an impressive case that modern administrative law owes its lineage to claims of monarchical prerogative and civil law absolutism that were precisely the ideas that the American revolution was trying to reject.”...

For those of you who still believe the Civics 101 crap you studied in grade school--my sympathy.  We are far, far, beyond that stuff.

And the 'beyond' is far, far, worse than you ever imagined.  Food for thought on this 4th of July, eh?

Wiggy Takes Command!

In a week, James Wigderson will take the con of Starship Right Wisconsin.

Congratulations, we think.

Kennedy Retire? Bring It On!

A typical opinion from some superannuated prune in the WaPo.

Won't bother to fisk it--but if you're looking for WaPo/Establishment-speak, go to the second half of the vomitous blather.

Meantime, it raises the hope that Kennedy will bail and Diane Sykes will fill the slot.

Wouldn't you like to know?  And to know why??

The Feebs Sink Even Further

The FBI/Feebs issued a report on the Virginia shooting.

It is horsecrap.

Feebs claim that the shooter 'did not surveil' the park and 'had no target in mind' when he shot as many rounds as he could at Republicans who were practicing there since the shooter knew that the Republicans WERE practicing there AND he knew exactly where the place was.

Feebs as bad at reporting the events as the shooter was at shooting.

Far more at The Federalist, which characterizes the Feeb report as "bizarre."  And this is AFTER Comey left the building!

Wisconsin School Spending

Just a couple of quick facts from Sen. Lassee.

In 2008/09, the State spent $4,760,000,000 on school districts.  In 2014/15, that number became $5,091,000,000.

If you are sentient, you recognize that State spending has INCREASED in that timeframe.

Here's the thing:  in 08/09, there were 860,477 students.  In 14/15, there were only 854,359 little skulls full of mush.

Suckers.

RoJo Steps Up!

Was there ever a doubt that McConnell would screw conservatives??

...MitchCare keeps Obamacare's coverage mandates, it keeps Obamacare's costly Medicaid spending, and it keeps Obamacare's subsidies. If it passes, it will lead to endless bailouts, price increases, and debt – all blamed on Republicans and the free market....

Now for the good news:

Senators Mike Lee (R-UT), Ted Cruz (R-TX), Rand Paul (R-KY), and Ron Johnson (R-WI) aren't playing along.

Good.  McConnell is another slimy old politician who--like McCain--needs a good case of retirement.

Parish Holy Week Schedule, 1943

There is one major and several minor differences between this 1943 Holy Week schedule and those of the modern day.

The minor ones have to do with the time-of-day of the ceremonies.

The major one:  apparently during those times, people sinned, and KNEW it.  And the priest actually cared.

HT:  Jeff

Oh, HELL, No!!!!

Kass proposes a "solution" to the imminent bankruptcy of the State of Illinois.

...Since our neighboring states are doing better, taking Illinois jobs and businesses and Illinois workers and taxpaying families, they might as well just take the rest of Illinois, too, dammit.

Wisconsin can have Chicago and begin calling it "South Milwaukee."...

Nope.  HELL, No!!  Not now, not ever.

I have a better idea.  Give Chicago to California.  Or Venezuela.  They are much more compatible, and need a 'change of seasons' place to call home.
Kass suggests giving Chicago to Wisconsin and renaming it “South Milwaukee,”

Durbin-Grassley: Screwing Americans, Again

The Professor mentions Durbin-Grassley (H-1B) again, and again mentions that Durbin and Grassley are screwing US information technology workers and students.

Grassley--who also sucks at the font of Corn-A-Hole--is in serious need of retirement.

Ass'y Pubbies: "Spend!! Spend!!! Spend!!!!!"

By far one of the most ludicrous ideas to come from the mouth of Vos.

...Capitol insiders tell MacIver News that Assembly leadership is sticking to a plan to issue laptops or tablets to all high school freshman. The initiative is expected to cost $10 million, according to sources.

The Assembly rolled out the plan in September as part of its "Forward Agenda."

At the time, Assembly Speaker Robin Vos, R-Rochester, said, "Every single student should have the opportunity to have that same access to technology, be they someone who's poor in the inner city or wealthy in the suburbs." He said there would be no income threshold tied to the initiative....

All the students have equal access to pens, pencils, paper, and books, Robin.

What you're doing is giving the "rich kids" Free Stuff that they could have paid for with pocket change--and taxing the poor folks to pay for it.  Truly a Republican ideal!

So, Robin:  exactly what problem will free stuff fix?  Hmmmm????

Atheists vs. Eeeeeevil Christian Music (!)

Yah, it's come to this.  The Usual-Suspect Atheists are threatening a lawsuit over the choice of music in a high-school 'sacred music' concert.  The concert had been held in a Catholic church--which will change to a college auditorium next year--but those EEEeeeeeevil Muuuuuusic selections....oh, my!

...Americans United Staff Attorney Ian Smith said in April that he was encouraged by the board's decision to move the concert, but would await judgment regarding what music would be performed.
The December letter pointed to songs such as "Do You Hear What I Hear?" and "O Holy Night" as being inappropriate, in addition to the venue itself.

Americans United Associate Legal Director Alex Luchenitser seconded Smith's stance Monday.
"We're pleased that the location of the concert has been changed. We just have to wait and see with respect to the content of the concert," Luchenitser said. "We're going to just keep watching and keep monitoring it."....

These cockroaches would probably burst into flames at a rendition of Mahler's Second.  Wouldn't pour water on them if it happened....

Apropos to this news item is an excerpt from one of Fred's columns (HT ColdFury):

...Democracy works better the smaller the group practicing it. In a town, people can actually understand the questions of the day. They know what matters to them. Do we build a new school, or expand the existing one? Do we want our children to recite the pledge of allegiance, or don’t we? Reenact the Battle of Antietam? Sing Christmas carols in the town square? We can decide these things. Leave us alone....

Then came The Feds.  You know what's happened since.

Pp. Francis and Hell? Or No Hell?

We're fascinated by this item, too.

...In Amoris Laetitia, Pope Francis announces: “No one can be condemned forever, because that is not the logic of the Gospel!” (297)....papal ghostwriter Archbishop Victor Manuel Fernandez is ebullient with joy because, as he declares in a 1995 article, “I rely firmly upon the truth that all are saved.” The author of Heal Me With Your Mouth: The Art of Kissing, Fernandez elsewhere rhapsodizes that extra-marital sex can express “ecstatic” charity and “Trinitarian richness.”...

Oh.

It gets more interesting, with Hegel tossed into the mix for fun.

Let us remember that another very influential Jesuit has declared that Satan is a made-up character.

So I'll be politically incorrect:  what the Hell is going on with these Beelzebubs?

The Civil War in the Church, Part VI

This had to happen sooner or later.

Four Cardinals have publicly released their letter to the Pope from April 25, 2017 unsuccessfully asking him for a private audience to discuss “confusion and disorientation” within the Church after the publication of the Pope’s April 2016 Exhortation Amoris Laetitia.

In the letter Cardinals lament the great division in the Church on basic morality as a result of the pope's exhortation.

“And so it is happening — how painful it is to see this! — that what is sin in Poland is good in Germany, that what is prohibited in the archdiocese of Philadelphia is permitted in Malta," they wrote....

It's signed by Cdls. Caffarra, Burke, Meisner, and Brandmuller, all of whom have been subject to verbal abuse by various bureaucrats who owe their pathetic 'careers' to Pp. Francis.  In the case of Burke, Pp. Francis manufactured a reason to fire him from his assignment with the Knights of Malta, too.

Prayer and fasting is recommended.

Deep State Hide-and-Seek Game Is On!

Well, well.  It appears that the Leftist elements of the Deep State are getting worried.

The National Security Council cannot hand over records relating to former National Security Adviser Susan Rice’s surveillance of Americans, because they have been moved to the Obama presidential library and may be sealed for as may as five years, conservative watchdog Judicial Watch announced Monday....

Umnnhhhh, yah.  The records are "unavailable."  And when some court demands they be turned over, there will be a fire, or flood, or something.  Those records are 'disappeared,' period.

...Incidentally, those records were moved pretty damn quickly, ain'a?  Usually, it takes Gummint six months just to FIND records....

Pubbies Won't Work for Trump? Advice for Them

It is reported (I know, it's the WaPo) that Pubbies are not answering the call from Trump to work in his administration.

...[His] volatile temperament makes them nervous. They are asking head-hunters if their reputations could suffer permanent damage, according to 27 people...WaPo quoted at HotAir

Answer:  No.  (But I don't think that's the real reason, anyway.  More on that below.)

About 30 years ago, a local company was headed up by its owner, a very bright guy, also with a "volatile temperament."  He was an engineer, and his company went through sales and marketing management people like poop through a goose.  Seriously.  Typical tenure was 6-12 months, with 4 weeks not uncommon.

The company grew despite that, largely because the products were very good.

But in the marketplace, getting fired by that clown was NOT a career-ender; in fact, it was almost a mark of pride.  Other employers didn't even bother to check references with that company; they all knew that anyone working there was going to be a short-timer, so there was no "black mark" on the resume.

Moving on:  I suspect that the REAL reason these folks won't go there is this:  Trump is not a good-little-boy "Republican".  The thrust and direction of his administration is antinomian, which good little Republicans do not understand, nor do they like.  Being antinomian is being anti-Establishment.  See what the problem is??  Besides, their "NeverTrumper" pals won't invite them to cocktail parties any more.  Imagine a lifetime without Egg McMuffin!!

Old Bag Wants to "Get Nasty". No Need to Do Anything, Liz

"You ain't seen nasty yet" says Fauxcahontas.

Actually, we've seen pictures of you, Lizzy.

So yeah.  Daddy's Day!

'Islam Pure' IS the Threat

If you've read this blog, you know this already.

...Islam is an open-ended declaration of war against non-Muslims” and those who carry out violent jihad are true Muslims who are applying exactly what their creed demands....

Which is to say that 'peaceful Muslims' are semi-Muslim.  They're like the 'raised Catholic' people who advocate for abortion, or no longer bother with Mass and the Sacraments.

The Jesuit who wrote that has a few other noteworthy comments:

...Those who fail to recognize the real threat posed by Islam are naïve and ignorant of history, he said, and unfortunately many in the Church fall into this category.

Citing a letter he wrote last August to Pope Francis, Father Boulad said that “on the pretext of openness, tolerance and Christian charity — the Catholic Church has fallen into the trap of the liberal left ideology which is destroying the West.”

“Anything that does not espouse this ideology is immediately stigmatized in the name of ‘political correctness,’” he said....

And finally, he takes a swipe at the "peace, peace" crowd:

....“[   ]  Jesus said to us: Blessed are the peacemakers, he did not say to us: Blessed are the pacifists [who say] 'Peace is peace at any cost, at any price'. Such an attitude is a pure and simple betrayal of truth,” he said....

Heresies have consequences, people.

"Hey, Raul! Up Yours!!" --Love, Donald

There are probably some NeverTrumpers out there who got the vapors and hit the fainting-couch when The Donald invited Castro to take a long walk off a short pier.  That's to be expected of the Effete Elite.

But actual Americans are cheering.  Trump intends to cure the cancer of the Caribbean, which is a very good thing.  After all, this cancer has metastasized to Nicaragua, Argentina, and Venezuela, and is undoubtedly behind the importation of a sizeable amount of drugs and/or terrorists to the US.

And that regime has killed or imprisoned tens of thousands of its own citizens for such crimes as "being Catholic."  In that particular regard, Bernie Sanders draws inspiration from the Castro Boyzzz, as did the other demi-Communist, Obozo.  (You're a damn fool if you think that's just co-incidence.)

Maybe this push from The Donald will topple that regime.  Maybe not.  But the message is clear.  Let's hope that the Effete Elite didn't hurt themselves hitting their little couches.

Amazon/Whole Foods Derangement Syndrome

Today, Amazon announced that it would purchase Whole Foods (a/k/a "Whole Wallet").

Stock values of Kroger, WallyWorld, and some other grocer dropped in response.

Why?

Kroger and Wally sell to entirely different consumers than does Whole Foods.  They simply do not compete except, perhaps, at the very bleeding edge of the margins.  Thus, the purchase should not have an impact on Kroger/Wally traffic at all.

Perhaps the NoooooYaawk stock researchers are just a little too much caught up in NooooYaaawk.  That wouldn't surprise anyone who has paid attention to politics.

Speaking of derangement, some analysts are questioning the GM purchase of a $500 million stake in Lyft.  GM says that they are a Transportation Company or something like that, which justifies the move.  More well-grounded people think that GM makes cars and trucks, not "transportation."

They might want that $500 million back if sales keep going south.  But that's ........oh, well.

"Businesswomen" Cry Over Kamala Mouthy (D) California

Found in the local BizJournal:

Sen. Kamala Harris facing multiple interruptions from colleagues — didn’t surprise many women...

This is the Senator who is the mouthiest in the entire Senate, of course.  Not only that--she is a showboat.  Some would say that she's a bitch.

But we did not find comparable unhappiness from "businesswomen" when the very same Ms. Harris constantly interrupted a WOMAN--the Secretary of Education nominee, Betsy DeVos.

Oh, no:  the kvetch/bitch routine only runs one way, folks.

Was He A "Nut"?

Now come all the 'reflective' pieces about whether the Alexandria shooter was a "nut."

Because if he's a "nut" then all we have to do is set up a shrink-o-logical test for gun ownership and *POOF* all the gun-problems are solved.

Problem is, the guy is not a "nut."  He's a stone-cold killer, or he would not have been out there killing people.

Want to make this real?  OK.

When your basic gang-banger gets newspaper coverage for having shot a bunch of people, do you call him "nuts"?   No.

So why does the Arlington killer need a shrink?  Because he's middle-class, wears glasses, and he's white.

The gang-banger kills people because he was "dissed."  The Alexandria killer was "dissed," too.

And let's not forget that the gang-banger's family and friends say EXACTLY the same things that the Alexandria guy's family and friends say:  '....he's a nice guy, helpful, has ambitions, yadayadayada.....'

There's no case for 'psychological testing' because the guy is NOT a "nut."  He is a stone-cold killer, and like all of those, he did not start that way; he just recently got that way.  And there's no shrink on Earth that would have predicted it.

The Good Guys (Article V Signatories)

It appears that Wisconsin will join 29 other States in calling for an Article V convention.

Thank God!

Here are the Wisconsin leggies co-sponsoring the effort:

Introduced by Senators Kapenga, Craig, Darling, Harsdorf, Lasee, Marklein, Nass, Olsen, Stroebel, Testin, Tiffany and Vukmir;

cosponsored by Representatives Knodl, Bernier, August, Born, E. Brooks, Duchow, Felzkowski, Horlacher, Hutton, Jarchow, Katsma, Kerkman, Kleefisch, Kooyenga, Kremer, Krug, Kuglitsch, Kulp, Macco, Mursau, Neylon, Nygren, Petersen, Petryk, Rodriguez, Rohrkaste, Sanfelippo, Schraa, Skowronski, Snyder, Spiros, Steffen, Steineke, Summerfield, Swearingen, Thiesfeldt, Tittl, Vos, Weatherston and Wichgers...

Huzzahh!!!!!

The Donald Does His Own Wrong Thing

On occasion, The Donald screws up, badly, in the policy arena.

This is one such time.

President Donald Trump told Republican senators Tuesday that the House-passed health care bill is “mean” and urged them to craft a version that is “more generous,” congressional sources saidHotAir quoting CNN

Since it's CNN, there's very good reason to doubt the story, of course.

But let's assume it's true--which is likely, given Trump's own campaign blather on the matter.  Trump is a Social-Medicine-Single-Payer advocate, as is his daughter/advisor.

This gives McConnell and the rest of The Swamp the excuse they're looking for to grab complete control of healthcare for The Swamp.

The Donald f*&^ked it up, but good, on this one.

John Chisholm, Bridesmaid

It appears that Mr. Mueller's 'special counsel' team requires special skills.

...Mueller has selected Deputy solicitor general Michael Dreeben as one of his advisers. Dreeben is a premier criminal law expert. However, he’s considered a left-winger by people whose judgment I trust. And Preet Bharara — former US attorney of the Southern District of New York and current Trump adversary — says he’s over-the-moon about Dreeban’s selection

Dreeben does not owe his selection to investigative prowess. He’s on the team to evaluate whether the fruits of the investigation give rise to a crime.

That’s fine if Dreeben has no agenda. But if he’s anti-Trump, there’s reason to fear he will bend over backwards to spin out a theory through which Trump can be prosecuted....

Well, what about John Chisholm, Milwaukee County DA and theory-spinner extraordinaire??  Not even a mention?

Or was it that Chisholm failed in--I dunno, 90??-- courts on his gibberish-theorizing?

PJ Buchanan's Concurrence

We all know that the Democrat Party hates Trump, to the point where they are becoming a clown car over the issue.  We also know that the 'deep State' despises him, not least because he is a threat to their fat salary/benefit/retirement package.

Buchanan thinks this may not end well.

I still have a PJB tee-shirt, autographed, with the 'The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.'  Apparently Jefferson knew what he was talking about.

Screwing the Gasoline Buyers in Wisconsin

Joint Finance is reviewing ways to extract more money from Wisconsin citizens, on the pretext that Joint Finance cannot POSSIBLY reduce State spending, especially on highways.

(The RoadBuilders continue to make Leggies their bitches.....)

Anyhoo, if JFC decides to raise the gasoline tax, that will constitute a tax preference for those with electric/semi-electric cars.  In other words, the gas tax will slam gasoline-car owners, whereas electric (or even hybrid) owners will wear out the roads--but not really pay for it.

Elections are coming up soon.  Primaries!!!!

Even More Fetid Odors From Comey

Missed this part the first time around....

...When asked Thursday by Senator Susan Collins of Maine whether he shared the memos he wrote about his conversations with President Trump with anyone outside the Department of Justice, Comey answered:

“I asked a friend of mine to share the content of the memo with a reporter – didn’t do it myself for a variety of reasons – but I asked him to, because I thought that might prompt the appointment of a special counsel.

This statement is tremendously important because it completely delegitimizes Robert Mueller’s so-called independent investigation and reveals it as poisoned fruit....Newt Gingrich quoted at AmThinker

But Comey is one helluva Drama Queen, to his credit.  Or not.

Wassup in Venezuela??

Far better narrative than you'll get from any MSM source.

Hint:  the trouble is Castro!  (And you thought one was dead and the other one was too old, eh?  Stupidos!!)

Oh, yah--there's another bit-player who does no good at all:  Pp. Francis.

Sometimes it's good to have self-control.

Defining High Crimes Is Tricky, Indeed

We've heard all sorts of bs from the NeverTrumpers and Democrats lately about "obstruction of justice."  Yah, well, there's no "there" there, and I'll rely on a lefty named Derschowitz for that conclusion.

But as long as we're on the topic of Presidential criminal conduct, how about this one?

The Obama administration “systematically disbanded” law enforcement investigative units across the federal government focused on disrupting Iranian, Syrian, and Venezuelan terrorism financing networks out of concern the work could cause friction with Iranian officials and scuttle the nuclear deal with Iran, according to a former U.S. official who spent decades dismantling terrorist financial networks.  --Legal Insurrection quoting the Free Beacon
Since Obozo cannot be impeached any longer, and since "obstruction of justice" does not apply here, does that mean that Obozo is just a fine-and-dandy patriot?

Or does it mean that exiling the asshole to the South Pole is in order?

Muslims Inspiring Sympathy and Love

Which American female pop-music star wants to "love these guys" until they act like humans?

...Abdullah Al-Malla, a local media activist, has told the Kurdish news agency ARA News, that the girls were burnt alive after they refused to have sex with the fighters of the group.

“They were punished for refusing to have sex with Isis militants,” Al-Malla said.

Another eyewitness has also said that the brutal execution of the girls was carried out in an open area and in front of the hundreds of people.

The eyewitness said the girls were locked inside the cage and were set on fire in front of the public as no one could do anything for the victims
....

We're waiting for CAIR's denunciation of the actions.  But we're not holding our breath.

He says that Trump lies.  He says that Trump manipulates.  He says that Trump is a thin-skinned girly-kinda-guy.  He says that Trump is a meanie, too.

For this, Schneider wants a Pulitzer prize, or something.

Well, I'll award him the "No Sh*t, Sherlock!!" prize.  He found a politician (and a real estate developer) with character flaws!  Who mis-characterizes his actual record!!

Next thing you know, Schneider will find that the guy uses the f-word.

And to Schneider, people who 'support Trump' are blind, stupid, hobbits who 'defend' Trump by pointing to other lying, character-deficient, back-and-forthright, nasty politicians.  So those 'supporters' are no good, either, because they voted for this turd.

Grow up, Christian.  You're not going to live in the kingdom of the Saints during your stay in the valley of tears. Sorry.  So sad.

Actual adults pulled the Trump lever knowing full well that he's going to 'make deals' with policy and the national interest.  But many of those Trump voters also thought that those deals would be weighted toward their interests:  a stronger, more prosperous USA.  A USA whose judiciary and Federal agencies know their place.  A USA whose Government actually respects and serves the citizens of the USA, not just itself, its millions of employees, and whoever purchases the right regulations this year.  All of that--or even some of that--would be contrary to the direction of the last 100 years or so, and to those voters "contrary" is the right direction, indeed.  So they voted for a guy who was (and remains) NOT a member of the good-old-guys-and-gals club.  Meh.

We get it, Christian.  You don't.  You're looking for saints in the last place they'll be found.

Good luck, grasshopper.

Tucker Carlson AND Neumayr!

When both Neumayr and Carlson are singing the same tune, it's damn near conclusive.

Here's Carlson:

“[A]gain, this is not about truth or fairness, much less protecting this country from foreign threats,” he added. “It’s about toppling – let’s not lie about it – a democratically elected government that the permanent class in Washington does not like...."

"....the permanent class..."  Hmmmm.

And Neumayr:

...the American people can see that the “respectability” of a leaking, vicious, two-faced ruling class doesn’t add up to much and constitutes a much deeper vulgarity than anything Trump represents....

(I have to import another quote from Neumayr which is just delicious:

...Trump’s instincts about Comey were absolutely correct. He is the kind of ruling-class creep who takes secret notes on presidents, then leaks them to the press, all while expecting a pat on the head from the great and good for his “independence"...

Actually, "creep" isn't quite right.  Let's try 'goody-two-shoes teacher's pet.'  The kind who usually wound up with his glasses broken after getting ass-whupped in the alley behind the school. )

Anyhow:  that "ruling class/City class/permanent class" bunch which Codevilla identified (but which Pat Buchanan reified back in 1992) is not going away easily.  McConnell and the slugs surrounding him--all allies regardless of Party--and "Mr. Clean" Ryan, supported by the Crazy Aunt in the Attic Nancy--are going to drag their feet, mope and whine, and "work to the rules" (if not against the rules) to get rid of this guy Trump.

Maybe a few more primary-ings will do the trick.  That's better than the other method of cleaning house.

What Tommy Thompson Taught Scott Walker

"BOND IT!!"  --T. Thompson, large-scale Spender

In the opinion of the estimable George Mitchell, Walker's "Bond It!!" program for highways is not the right thing to do.  Mitchell is part of the camp which believes that raising the gas tax, or registration fees, (or something 'raised') is the right course of action.

But way down in his essay is a telling snippet:

Some legislators say, in effect, “enough.” They believe the state either needs to live within its means or it needs new revenue.

George kinda-sorta disguises it, but he allows that LESS SPENDING ON ROADS might be a solution, too.

We agree with that.

Owen is on the same page.

IT'S THE SPENDING, STUPID!!!

Clearly, the "leadership" in Wisconsin Pubbie circles has not yet absorbed the real meaning of Trump's victory.  Here (and we're looking at you, Scott Walker), it's still 'spend money, it's election season.'

Owen is right:  some stupidity costs political careers.

What Classical Liberalism Has Wrought

I use the term "classical liberalism" to distinguish from the tawdry-slut "left/liberalism" which has captured the (D) Party, having oozed forth from under even more leftist rocks and shoals.

Not that classical liberalism has been all that wonderful.  Here we have a snitch from a review of T.S. Eliot's Christianity and Culture:

...Eliot clearly is engaged in an intellectual pursuit, explaining and defining key terms in our public discourse. But this puts him no less, and perhaps more, at odds with contemporary standards of intellectual life than if he were merely seeking converts. His central point in this essay is that Britain’s (and by extension America’s) society is neutral, rather than Christian, precisely because the formal profession of Christianity is tolerated, while the structures and aims appropriate to a Christian society are not even considered. While “a society has ceased to be Christian when religious practices have been abandoned,” it also has ceased to be Christian “when behaviour ceases to be regulated by reference to Christian principle, and when in effect prosperity in this world for the individual or for the group has become the sole conscious aim” (CC, 9–10).

This is not to say that ours has become a pagan society. In saying that ours is a neutral society, Eliot also is pointing out that it remains Christian, though only in vestigial form. Liberalism, the ideology dominant in the West, has emptied out (some might say “secularized”) our society, dissolving many of its religiously grounded structures and aims. Liberalism has done much to neutralize Christianity, but claims the labels “benign” and “tolerant” because it has put nothing in Christianity’s place....

But as we all know, nature abhors a vacuum.  The 'nothingness' resulting from liberalism's evacuation of Christian principles will be filled with something.  Eliot has an idea:

Liberalism can prepare the way for that which is its own negative: the artificial, mechanized or brutalised control which is a desperate remedy for its chaos.
Albeit by a different means, that's what happened to Russia in the 1920's.  It's also what happened to Germany--again, by different means--in the early 1930's.

It's not as though Eliot is the first to propose this.  Many political theorists hold that a dictatorship will follow a democracy.  Now since the US is not, strictly speaking, a 'democracy,' we can all hope that the progress into dictatorship is not a natural result.

He sums it this way:

Unless we can find a pattern into which all problems of life can have their place, we are only likely to go on complicating chaos. So long, for instance, as we consider finance, industry, trade, agriculture merely as competing interests to be reconciled from time to time as best they may, so long as we consider “education” as a good in itself of which everyone has a right to the utmost, without any ideal of the good life for society or for the individual, we shall move from one uneasy compromise to another. (CC, 50)
(We should add that "the good life" is NOT sex, drugs, and rock'n'roll, nor wealth.)

But rather than 'hope,' it seems that Eliot would have us pray.  Not a bad idea.

National Security? Vetting? Huh??

During WWII, workers at the Hanford Site (atomic bomb stuff) were not allowed to talk to one another on the busses which took them back and forth from the town to the Site.

Read that again:  they were not allowed to talk on the bus, period.  That for fear that someone could assemble parts A, B, and C from conversations and spill the beans on the project.

And that was to co-workers.  Talk at home?  You're in Federal detention immediately, isolated, and no niceties of 'trial' until the war is over.

Compare to today, where some chunky blondie ex-USAF enlistee--at the age of 25--can access, print, and mail "secure" "secret" documents despite a social-media trail which is HIGHLY questionable.

Pardon me for asking, but WTF is the matter with NSA?

Trump vs. All of Washington

Until proven otherwise, we'll go along with this theory:

Impeachment is merely a tactic aimed at one man. The broader strategic aim is to stymie and sabotage THE AGENDA. PDT will not be impeached, but if he can be smeared as illegitimate, then everything he wants to do will be made out to be against the will of the people because he "stole" the presidency.

And since the GOP-e is in league with the Dems and the Deep State bureaucracy, this is why everything is being slow-walked and stonewalled.

No one thought he would win. Now that he has, they are scrambling like mad to make every excuse imaginable why the Repeal can't go forward, or Tax Reform or The Wall or you-name-it. The Dems claim fraud/collusion, the GOP-e claims process/rules bullshit, the Deep State Leviathan leaks and sabotages. And the press reports PDT as an insane failure. ...JJS at AOSHQ

Just yesterday, over lunch, a friend accused me of being in the tank for Trump.  That's not true, as the Cruz campaign will be happy to attest (and they're looking for more as we type this!)  But it IS true that Trump has followed the agenda I had set out for him--so far--with only minor objectionable matters.

They don't like his style and Comey--the little girl--cried Big Tears that Trump said mean things about him.  Suck it up, buttercups.  Trump is there for a reason:  to shake your little Club until it falls down.  Maybe Cruz would have phrased it differently, and it's possible that he would have folded.  But at this time, Trump is doing what he was elected to do.

Get the Hell out of the way.

Small Towns v. The Atheists: Two Stories

As we mentioned a couple of weeks ago, the atheists in Madistan have sent the City of Oconomowoc a letter promising lawsuit if the City does not remove a couple of 'the churches welcome you' signs.

So far, Oconomowoc officials have been very, very, quiet.  There is a technical question about whether the signs rest on City land or not.

But Oconomowoc's principal concern is not where the signs rest.  Nope.  It's 'Who Will Pay' for the city's defense.  It seems that the City's insurer has a great deal to say about whether Oconomowoc will tell the atheists to stick the signs where the sun never shines.

Should the City choose to rely on its insurer's dictates, the City will be pathetic.  Period.

Meantime, in Missouri:

...It was way back in 1930 when the good people of Neosho, Missouri, installed a giant, lighted cross in the Big Spring Park....the town received a letter from an out-of-town group of atheists, agnostics and freethinkers. They demanded the cross be removed from public property.

..."The cross is not going to go anywhere," Mayor Ben Baker told me. "We are taking a stand. It's the best thing to do, and it's the right thing to do."

And the city council agreed with the mayor — voting unanimously to protect the cross....

This is what's called 'doing the right thing.'  Thank you, Neosho, MO.

Duly Noted: "Rude" Crown Moves to California

At one point, rude-and-crude was defined by male inhabitants of New York City.

Now it's bitchezzz from California.

(Rumor has it that this one wants to be President some day, just like Hillary.)

Hillary's Cotton Fields

There may never again be a story as vile as the story of The Clintons.

...the first-person passage describes how Clinton “enforced rules strictly and sent back to prison any inmate who broke a rule.” The inmates, who Clinton said were typically “African American men in their thirties who had already served twelve to eighteen years of their sentences,” worked on the [Arkansas Governor's mansion] grounds without compensation....

The inmates were better off than Hillary's Secret Service personnel--who could NOT get away from her by breaking a rule.

The Voces de la Frontera Scam

This woman Neuman-Ortiz, is a low-level scam artist who's been playing the system for years.

People who pay attention to her are asking to be humiliated, as Ms. Torres found out.  That's why the workforce at the pizza company tossed Neuman-Ortiz to the curb.  They have pride--and have kept it.

More RyanWhine Coming Up! NOT!!!

****See the COMBOX for the IMPORTANT UPDATE, and hope that the linked source never reports on an atomic war.****

Count on it--in the next few weeks, Paul Ryan or his apologists will be whining away on some local radio station.

...House Republicans will have to re-vote on their bill to repeal and replace Obamacare.

The Senate Budget Committee announced late Tuesday afternoon that the American Health Care Act (AHCA) complies with the Senate’s budget “reconciliation” rules, which means that the House will have to vote once more on their proposal...

Paul Ryan--the Speaker of the House and a certified member of the In-Crowd/Establishment/Gooey GoodShoes Club--told us that a re-vote would NOT BE NECESSARY.

One does not have to be a leaker to undermine a President.

NSA Leaker Indicted. Story Is Odd

There's something odd about this story.

...The highly classified intelligence document, published Monday by The Intercept, describes how Russia managed to infiltrate America’s voting infrastructure using a spear-phishing email scheme that targeted local government officials and employees....

Etc., etc., etc.   You can make up your own mind about the threat-level exposed in that story (and the credibility thereof, too.)

So then you get the next story, all about The Leaker:

The 25-year-old woman who stole “Top Secret” documents from the National Security Agency and leaked them to The Intercept appears to be a supporter of Bernie Sanders and other progressive icons, such as Bill Maher and Michael Moore....

Now here's a really, really, strange excerpt:

...On Feb. 14, a day after Winner took her Top Secret job at Pluribus, Winner posted a photo outside of the Atlanta offices of Georgia Sen. David Perdue.

Winner wrote that she had a 30-minute private meeting with the Republican lawmaker.

She said they discussed “my concerns regarding climate change and what the state of Georgia is doing to reduce dependency on fossil fuels.”...

THIRTY MINUTES with a sitting U S Senator?  On Georgia's fossil fuel situation?

Really?

Vlad the Doctor

Putin thinks ME-Again needs medication for her hysteria over Russians.

Forty years ago the prescription would have been a bit different.

Will The Graveyard of Empires Claim the US, Too?

"We've always been at war with Eastasia."

When Orwell wrote the line, he must have been thinking about Afghanistan.  He didn't know that he would be quoting any random US citizen in the year 2017--but he didn't have to know that.  Afghanistan is called 'The Graveyard of Empires' for a very good reason.

Now The Donald is thinking of slamming several thousand more US troops into that graveyard and extending the longest war the US has ever fought by a few more years, at the cost of $4 million/soldier/year.

Really?

To keep poppies from financing Mad Muslims?  Poppies or no, the Mad Muzzies have managed to carry out their war on the Crusaders very well, if only fitfully--so far.

Here's a thought for PDT: draft 'em and send the 9th and 4th Circuit Courts to Afghanistan,  Then implement the travel/immigration bans.  When the 4th and 9th forces win the war in The Graveyard, revoke the ban and bring those troops home.

Victory all around!

Jebby Superior General: 'No Satan'!

Sometimes it's very difficult to keep up with the Jebbies and their .....ahhh......dumbass remarks.

In an interview with Spanish newspaper El Mundo, Fr Arturo Sosa said: “Christians believe that we are made in the image and likeness of God, and God is free, but He always chooses to do good because He is all goodness.

We have formed symbolic figures such as the devil to express evil.
...quoted at Rorate

Other Jebbies, thank God, are far more reliable.  Take, e.g., Fr. John Hardon, in whose Pocket Catholic Dictionary we find this:

"The dominant feature of this [OT, NT, and Church] teaching is that a personal, malign force is active in the world, attempting to pervert the design of God."

'Symbol' is not 'person.'

'Superior General' is not orthodox.

Viktor Orban vs. George Soros

Just so you all understand it correctly, Soros and his ilk (the MSM) are slandering the Prime Minister of Hungary, Viktor Orban.

And as you might suspect, that's because Orban prefers Right Order to Soros-ism.

"Corn Mill"? How About "ETHANOL Plant"?

Yesterday only one local news outlet referred to the Cambria ethanol plant as an 'ethanol plant.'

Now that outlet has joined all the others, and the scene of a fatal explosion is a "corn mill."

Fascinating play on language, no?  Can't have "ethanol" connected to fatalities and life-altering injuries, can we?

May God comfort the families of the living and deceased victims.

TEOTWAWKI Now!

Apocalypse!  End Times!!  Four Horsemen!!!! Clouds With Lightning!

The End Of The World As We Know It!!!

The US is out of Paris Accord.

Will Wiggy and Charlie approve?????

Fr. Rutler, Pp Bergoglio, Church Music

If you don't have one or more of Fr. Rutler's books, you're missing a lot.

He packs so much into this one solitary paragraph.....

...Our Lord promised that the Holy Spirit would lead into all truth. This activates the intellect and does not replace it. Enthusiasm is not spiritual zeal if it asks reason to move over so that emotion might take its place. The Enthusiasm that Dr. Sumner abjured displaced the Logos with the Ego. That of course is an old story, elegantly and eloquently documented in the masterwork of Monsignor Ronald Knox, Enthusiasm. While not unsympathetic toward the noble integrity of John Wesley, he holds up the spiritist movements from the second century Montanists to the latter day Quakers, Jansenists, and Quietists as examples of how people go to extremes to confuse themselves emotionally with the Holy Spirit....

*Cough* READ BETWEEN THE LINES, whether you're an advocate of Bergoglianism or of simple-stupid "music" for Mass.

Then repent, and get straight with the Logos.

The Comical Scribbling of Never-Trump Types

Wiggy is a genuinely likeable guy who remains a NeverTrumper, like his (also likeable) boss Charlie Sykes.

But only Wiggy writes stuff which assumes that the reader never took Civics 101--you know, the stuff on how the FedGov works.  (I'll not comment on Wiggy's Nancy Pelosi imitation, yelling "RUSSIANS!!!!" earlier in his screed.)

...As a result of Trump’s character flaws, lack of self-discipline, and inexperience, the only lasting positive impact of a Trump presidency may be the appointment of Neil Gorsuch to the Supreme Court. Everything else, the executive orders, the relief from federal regulations, can be undone as easily as they were done.

We do not have health care reform yet. We don’t have an increase yet in military spending. We do not even have Trump’s wall on the border or his federal stimulus “infrastructure” plan. We don’t even have a tax reform plan, largely because of Trump’s incompetence.

The Trump Administration doesn’t even have a full team in Washington, which is probably the cause of so many of the leaks bedeviling the White House. Instead, Trump is still replacing personnel that should’ve been in place when he took the oath of office....

Oh, my oh my oh my!  You could run out of fingers counting the egregious errors, but let's start with stuff on which we agree!  The Donald does have character flaws, he does NOT have Gummint experience, and Gorsuch will (we certainly hope) last quite a while on SCOTUS.

In the cases of regs un-done by EO (and many of the EO's), so what?  Perhaps Wiggy doesn't know this, but laws are regularly un-done by succeeding Congresses, too.  And--as I recall--the President proposes a budget, but Congress disposes.  This is the place for a Speaker and Majority Leader with balls, but that's not the hand Trump was dealt, Wiggy.  Call your friend Paul (behind-the-walls) Ryan.

Oh--should Trump write the tax reform plan for Ryan, too?  Wasn't that the reform which could not be accomplished until Ryan and McConnell (and RoJo) shitcan ObozoCare?  Didn't Ryan, RoJo and McConnell have FOUR FULL YEARS to write the legislation dumping ObozoCare into the landfill?

So sorry to take up your time with trivia like ya'know, Constitutional matters, Wiggy....

Yes, he has his faults, and I'll hit him every time he shows one.

Stop whining.

Yes, Nixon Was An Asshat

In case there was any doubt .....

It seems that Tricky Dick--aided and abetted by Kissinger and the Very Model of RINO Gerry Ford--signed some scrap-paper document which could be called 'the treaty of treaties.'

Under its terms, all that Constitutional folderol about "two-thirds of the Senate" is voided.

Fortunately, it is not necessary to nuke our way out of this; all we have to do is un-pass the law.

Watch Ryan and McConnell cringe as though they were witches faced with a crucifix.....

Another Demonstration of Black-Robed Idiocy

The Kenosha schools have been told they must let a little girl use the boys' room and showers.   By implication, Kenosha must also allow boys to use the girls' potties and showers, of course.

They were told this by three black-robed boobs who are--undoubtedly--very proud of their decision.

Do they really expect some sort of respect and admiration from normal people?

The science community has a few things to say about The Idiocy.

  • The belief that sexual orientation is an innate, biologically fixed human property – that people are “born that way” – is not supported by scientific evidence.
  • The belief that gender identity is an innate, fixed human property independent of biological sex – so that a person might be a ‘man trapped in a woman’s body’ or ‘a woman trapped in a man’s body’ – is not supported by scientific evidence.
  • Only a minority of children who express gender-atypical thoughts or behaviour will continue to do so into adolescence or adulthood. There is no evidence that all such children should be encouraged to become transgender, much less subjected to hormone treatments or surgery.
  • Non-heterosexual and transgender people have higher rates of mental health problems (anxiety, depression, suicide), as well as behavioral and social problems (substance abuse, intimate partner violence), than the general population. Discrimination alone does not account for the entire disparity.
IOW, the Seventh panel ignores scientific truth to arrive at a political decision, just as SCOTUS did with its Queer "Marriage" infamy.

Well, folks, politics change.

Stuff You Don't Really Need

From this list

Cialis (Eli Lilly), Velveeta, Jeep, Marriott, AARP, Cisco, Experian/"Free" Credit Report, Progressive (MaryJane) Insurance.

We'll repeat:  they all make stuff you really do not need. Especially Rachel Maddow.

Elon Musk Stamps His Widdle Feets

Musk is--arguably--the best player in the energy regulation/tit-sucking game.  If there's a way he can extract cash from the Feds or others (like GM, Ford, et al) by manipulating energy regulations, he's found it and used it.

Trump may explode Musk's little game, so Musk is stamping his widdle feets.

Elon Musk is threatening to resign from President Donald Trump’s business advisory panel if he extracts Americans from the Paris Climate Agreement which indirectly subsidizes Musk’s multiple billion-dollar business projects....

It's likely that the US will continue as a going operation without the benefit of Mr. Musk's advice.

The question is this:  whether Musk's operations will continue as 'going' without the benefit of US energy regulation schemes.  I think it would be fun to find out, don't you?
