It appears that the Elmbrook Schools--once considered one of the 'Top 5' Districts in Wisconsin--is having a slow-motion meltdown.
Internal (but public) documents show that academic achievement has been deteriorating for 2 years. In addition, the District's State scores show a down-trend extending 1 year before the Chinese Cooties troubles. In other words, standards were slipping before the pandemic made things even worse.
Then a couple of years ago, a Brookfield Central HS teacher distributed a VERY graphic sex-survey to her classes and results were discussed in the classroom. The Superintendent did ........not much at all.
The District awarded Hayat Pharmacy a 'partner of the year' award, then Hayat paid a $2 MILLION settlement to the US for fraud. (They avoided a guilty plea with the settlement.)
Think that's all?
A ceramics teacher at Brookfield Central (yes, they have one) signed her district emails with a link to an LBGTQ site. Oh, it's a dandy!
...the site in question was for the LGBT Life Center, which is an advocacy group that primarily serves Americans living with HIV/AIDS. However, the site also includes an “Understanding Pronouns” guide — which is what Grimm specifically had linked — as well as resources relating to hormone therapy — and yes, sex toys.
Several parents who spoke to the Caller noted that Grimm’s email signature is a blatant violation of district policy. More specifically, the district stipulates that “at no time can staff members use technology resources to use, access, store or transmit inappropriate content.” It appears that many parents and area residents appear to consider hormone therapy and sex toys to be inappropriate content.
“How does a ceramics teacher think that hotlinking her signature to explicit sex sites is appropriate for students at Brookfield Central High School,” a concerned taxpayer lamented to Vicki McKenna, a Wisconsin-based radio personality. “What does any of this have to do with ceramics…what the hell is going on at Brookfield HS?’...
The Superintendent of this District, a fellow named Hansen, is, like Iago, a very ambitious fellow who has counted on the area's State Senator, Dale Kooyenga, for support in the past. Kooyenga may want to re-evaluate his friendship soon.
The Elmbrook Board of Education should be asking some very tough questions of Superintendent Hansen soon. You can bet Hansen will be composing very facile answers; one hopes the Board doesn't roll over too easily.
Homework question: What are "Furries"? Apparently Elmbrook District knows.
