Quinn Hillyer Goes Off the Rails

We shouldn't be surprised; Quinn Hillyer is a Deep State apparatchik and always has been.  So when he shows up with half the story (in print), it fits his M.O.

No matter what a jury decides about the legal fate of Kyle Rittenhouse, who killed two people during last year’s riots in Kenosha, Wisconsin, nobody should treat Rittenhouse like a victim or an avatar of justice.

Rittenhouse is at clear moral fault for the two deaths. He went into Kenosha that night expecting trouble, and he grievously exacerbated the trouble he found....

Actually, Quinn, Rittenhouse 'showed up' to help clean up Kenosha and lend First Aid to anyone who got hurt.  The fact that he was armed was a matter of prudence.  Further, the criminal justice system mirrors standard moral teaching on self-defense.  Your "theology" apparently comes from Associated Press.  Like they say, Quinn:  "Check your sources."

Here's Aquinas on the subject:   

 “if a man, in self-defense, uses more than necessary violence, it will be unlawful: whereas if he repel force with moderation his defense will be lawful, because according to the jurists (Cap. Significasti.  De Homicid. volunt. vel casual.), ‘it is lawful to repel force by force, provided one does not exceed the limits of a blameless defense.’  Nor is it necessary for salvation that a man omit the act of moderate self-defense in order to avoid killing the other man, since one is bound to take more care of one’s life than of another’s.

In point of fact, Kyle's act of self-defense--which BEGAN with him RUNNING AWAY, remember--used 'moderation,' by that fact alone.  But when faced with an imminent threat of death and assaulted by individuals wielding deadly weapons, he did NOT use 'more than necessary force.'   

Now let's get down to the real business here.

When the riots began, the Kenosha Mayor ran into his basement, curled up in the fetal position, and told his police department to do the same.  For 3++ nights of riots, looting, and burning, there was ZERO law enforcement.  ZERO.

Now you, Quinn, may not believe in 'property rights,' nor in 'civil order.'  But Kyle and his associates do.  If you recall the Preamble to the Constitution, it does, too.  Let me help you, Quinn!

We the People of the United States, in Order to form a more perfect Union, establish Justice, insure domestic Tranquility, provide for the common defence, promote the general Welfare, and secure the Blessings of Liberty to ourselves and our Posterity, do ordain and establish this Constitution for the United States of America.

"....establish Justice, insure domestic Tranquility, ......common defense.......general welfare...."

Every one of those was totally ignored by Kenosha's Mayor Antaramian.   Every.  Single.  One.  The Governor of Wisconsin did exactly the same for a week or so.  That's not just me.  That's the position of a Democrat Presidential candidate, too.

But not Kyle and his band of brothers.  

This is the micro-version of the Invasion at the Border.  The President and his cabal are arguably committing treason by effectively dissolving the "Union" which is only possible with borders, remember? 

You wrinkle your wine-sniffing nose at Rittenhouse?  What would you say to those who held the Boston Tea Party?  Or those who joined Washington's army, knowing that they "went .... expecting trouble, and ...grievously exacerbated the trouble [they] found?

Quinn, your Patty-Cake Conservatism is no longer useful, and your moral compass needs serious adjustment.  Go back to Louisiana and please just keep quiet.
