Authority, Legitimacy, and the Present Crisis

Serious American thinkers on the current crisis should pay attention to the essay written at this link by Mark Wauck at his 'meaning in history' blogsite.

He begins with definitions of the terms 'authority' and 'legitimacy.'  These are concepts which must be clearly understood in the discussion because they should be the occasion for and basis of serious action as we proceed through the next few years.  I would suggest that the concept of 'authority' must be correctly understood long before the concept of 'legitimacy' can be discussed--and the 'authority' does not begin in D.C.

It's not a discussion of "Trump/No-Trump" in the election; it's far wider than that, although the Fraudlection and some prior events (the riots last summer) are the occasion for what may become the most momentous five years in American history after the Revolution and the Civil War.

It's that serious.
