...Spain’s National Police Corps said in a statement that two men have been arrested
on suspicion of assault and perpetrating offences against fundamental
rights (‘hate crime’) after attacking the students at a bar in Murcia.
The incident took place in the early hours of the morning a few days
ago when a group of students wearing San Antonio Catholic University of
Murcia (UCAM) shirts were approached by individuals who took issue with
their attire....
...After taking statements from the witnesses and hearing descriptions of
their assailants, detectives were able to identify the two men, who were
aged 19 and 28 and already known to police from their background and
membership of “ultra-left groups”, reports regional newspaper La Verdad....
The Spanish University separated itself from places like Marquette U, too:
...In a statement announcing the institution would be putting its full support behind the students who were attacked....(etc.)
Franco led Spain's attack on the Communists which were infesting the country. A number of US leftists (and useful idiot fellow-travelers) went to Spain to fight against Franco. Fortunately, Franco's forces prevailed--but apparently didn't mop up all the vermin.
