You've read about this. A 5th-grader carried a BB gun into his room. Unfortunately for him, he was "in class" via Zoom or something, so the police were called. They confiscated the BB gun and laid charges against the kid for "brandishing."
The Louisiana AG intervened to drop the charges.
My question is above: What were the cops THINKING when they exercised their discretion to arrest and charge this kid?
Were they thinking "salary, pension, benefits"?
