In a 2016 essay by J Arthur Bloom in The American Conservative, Bloom finds a very important nugget about "critical theory": the theory is not about racism alone; rather, it is about a total war on the culture which encompasses a war on the family, Christianity, and capitalism.
The essay is about Wm. Lind, an eccentric thinker on the topic of war--he invented the term "Fourth Generation Warfare" to describe what has been going on in the US since roughly the 1950's.
What Lind found in the scribbles of the Frankfurt school (the Communists FDR imported here thankyouverymuch!) is this:
...In 1923, Lukacs and a group of German Marxist intellectuals founded a 'think tank' intended to translate Marxism from economic into cultural terms, the Institute for Social Research at Frankfurt University. [This Frankfurt school] moved to New York City in 1933 when the National Socialists came to power.
[In New York] its key figures--Theodor Adorno, Erich Fromm and Wilhelm Reigh--developed 'critical theory,' a crossing of Marx with Freud that labeled the key components of Western culture 'prejudice,' i.e., a psychological disease. The 'critical theorist' argues that to eliminate 'prejudice,' Christianity, capitalism, and the traditional 'patriarchal' family all had to be destroyed....
We've heard that 'Critical Theory' is an obscure law-school detour and debate topic. We've heard that it is all about race or that it is all about money.
But the most important part? It is all about the culture--the Christian culture. That is why elements of 'critical theory' are found in all the drooling of the LBGTQ@(XYZSJ+ crapola. The attack on the family IS an attack on the culture. The attack on private property IS an attack on the culture.
It's the CULTURE, stupid!
P.S. Read Lind's book Victoria to see where and why the "civil war" talk began.
