The City of Milwaukee is putting on a not-really-fantasy dog-and-pony show, requiring the Fire Department, Cop Shop, and Library System to put out budgets with 10%-20% reductions in spending.
The Good Old Days of handing city unions anything they wanted in pensions and health benefits--which began under Henry Maier and got worse every year since--are gone, baby, gone. The Police Union's deals were horrible for taxpayers, but AFSCME wasn't far behind.
The City's most prominent Communist, Marina Dimitrijevic, blames the State's taxpayers for this.
