For the first time since at least 1966, the number of government jobs in our state has overtaken the number of manufacturing jobs, and it's been quite a rapid change.
| JANUARY | NOVEMBER | difference |
MANUFACTURING | 464,700 | 435,800 | -28,900 |
GOVERNMENT | 417,500 | 438,200 | 20,700 |
difference | 47,200 | -2,400 |
|
The manufacturing industry has been the backbone of our economy for generations, and we need to refocus state government so that its aim is to help the manufacturing sector, not simply grow the size of government.
Wow.Just wow.

And the surprise is? If you remember, the jobs shown as saved or created via the stimulus plan proposal showed a disproportionate number of govt employees added. Given that The Won has no idea how to create or save a private sector job, it stands to reason that govt. jobs have grown quickly
I suspect that that growth has more to do with Doyle and the counties, cities, schools than with The Won.
After all, there was no Porkulus money floating around in November, to speak of...
