CIA Director Beclowns Himself

John Brennan, the CIA Director, beclowns himself when he speaks in the stead of the NSA spooks.

...CIA Director John Brennan was among those warning that letting the authorities lapse, even for a time, will make America less safe.

Terrorists "are looking for the seams to operate within," Brennan said on CBS' "Face the Nation." "This is something that we can't afford to do right now." He bemoaned "too much political grandstanding and crusading for ideological causes that have skewed the debate on this issue" and said the terrorism-fighting tools are important to American lives....

Really?  The tools are really important?

...two lesser-known Patriot Act provisions also lapse at midnight: one, so far unused, helps track "lone wolf" terrorism suspects unconnected to a foreign power;...

That one, Mr. Brennan (& Co.), might have been really important in Boston a couple of years ago.  Or in that Army fort where a 'lone wolf' Army major shot up a bunch of soldiers. Or in Dallas, where a couple of bozo-Muzzies met their scraggly virgins a couple of weeks ago.

So, Mr. Brennan (& Co.), WTF have you been waiting for?

NPR's News Management

Like the Senior Wisconsin Righty Blogger, on occasion I listen to NPR.  Not for the pictures, silly:  for the classical music and for Prairie Home Companion.

But of course, the NPR "news" bunch intrudes.

So I'm listening to them interview a WaPo reporter about the Clinton Foundation.  NPR lady asked him 'whether any of the foreign-country donations were illegal?' given that such donations ARE illegal for political campaigns.  And of course, the Postie said 'no, there was a FORMER President and POSSIBLY a FUTURE President involved, so it was legal.'

The listener could tell that the Postie was waiting for the next logical question--that is:  "Was it germane that a sitting Secretary of State was an indirect beneficiary of these contributions?" and "are you aware of any apparent quid-pro-quos that COULD be a result of those contributions?"

But that question was not asked.

That, friends, is how the news is managed.

Powdered, Perfumed, But Still Excrement: McConnell

The Stench in D.C. emanates from McConnell's office.

...McConnell has refused to negotiate or fight vigorously to allow votes on conservative priorities, but he is willing to surrender the one impending victory against corporate welfare in order to bail out Obama from troubles with his own party! Even more troubling, at a time when McConnell has blocked conservatives from offering amendments, even those that are germane to pending legislation, he is abdicating his authority as Majority Leader to set the Senate to Cantwell next month by allowing her to file cloture on a bill reauthorizing the Ex-Im Bank.  And according to Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-SC), this non-germane bill will be attached to the eventual highway bill, which is regarded by the Washington political class as “must pass legislation.”  This will make it very difficult for conservatives to block the bill. And to top it all off, McConnell is doing all this while he claims to oppose the Export-Import Bank....

The taxpayer bailout of GM and Boeing--among others--will continue if this works as McConnell wants it to.

Ryan v. US Workers

Paul Ryan was unable to drag Mitt Romney over the top in '12.

There's a reason for that:  Ryan--like Romney--is a trade and budget squish.  Now he's flogging ObozoTrade, which will be another disaster for US workers.

Not only is he flogging it; he's lying about "surveys" on the topic--just as he lied about the "budget deal."

Trading Wales for Ways & Means, Paul?

Conservatism Well-Defined

What's a Conservative?

To be conservative, then, is to prefer the familiar to the unknown, to prefer the tried to the untried, fact to mystery, the actual to the possible, the limited to the unbounded, the near to the distant, the sufficient to the superabundant, the convenient to the perfect, present laughter to utopian bliss.  --Oakeshott

Note that this distinguishes Conservatives from typical Republicans, not to mention the dope-smoking, flea-infested, happy-clappy-plastic-banana Socialists, Communists, and Community Organizers.

Which occupy the White House, the Cabinet, and the Command Brass slots in the Pentagon, not to mention most of the academy and the East and West Coasts.

The Priest and His People

Very perceptive.

In his masterpiece “The Soul of the Apostolate”, Dom Jean-Baptiste Chautard (1858-1935), Trappist Abbot of Sept-Fons, expressed this maxim: “A holy priest coincides with a fervent populace; a fervent priest - a pious populace; a pious priest - an honest populace; an honest priest - an impious populace” (Italian version, Rome 1967, p. 64).

So does an impious priest coincide with fervently impious people?

Screechin' Shirley Still Squealing Like a Stuck.....

Yep.  The old bag appealed to the 7th Circuit, waving a mythical perfected title to her old job.

Koskinen Inhaled. A Lot.

The Oleaginous Smirk (John Koskinen) had this to say about the data breach at IRS:

“This is not a security breach. Our basic information is secure,

Eastasia.

This has been going on since February; many of the victims are people who use the "transcript" function to support their FAFSA applications.

So while IRS' 'basic information' is "secure," yours is not.

And the Oleaginous Smirk will retire on a fat, taxpayer-funded pension.

The Usual Suspects, The Usual Place: UW-Madison

Just in case you thought your tax dollars were being wasted on such things as pharmacy, medicine, engineering, accounting, Brit Lit, and all that trash, fear not!!

The UW-Mad will be the location for ...

An upcoming workshop scheduled to take place at the University of Wisconsin-Madison aims to teach campus radicals and socialists how to manipulate campus resources to advance their agenda.

“Undercommoning: A workshop on becoming a thief in the university,” was the exact wording of the subject line in a recent group email sent to University of Wisconsin-Madison scholars and others announcing the event, set for June 4.

One of the featured Community Organizers will be some woman from "Young, Gifted, and Black"--the bunch that tried like hell to start a riot over the shooting of a drug-crazed kid.

"....Becoming a thief in the university...." is entirely appropriate.  These people are stealing your money.

Memorial Day

Wilfred Owen's poem: "Futility"

Move him into the sun—
Gently its touch awoke him once,
At home, whispering of fields half-sown.
Always it woke him, even in France,
Until this morning and this snow.
If anything might rouse him now
The kind old sun will know.

Think how it wakes the seeds,—
Woke, once, the clays of a cold star.
Are limbs, so dear-achieved, are sides,
Full-nerved—still warm—too hard to stir?
Was it for this the clay grew tall?
—O what made fatuous sunbeams toil
To break earth’s sleep at all?

Written about one of those who had given all his tomorrows for liberty.

(R) Failure Theater No Secret to Conservatives

Gee.

The RoJo/Senselessbrenner/Ryan Express to oblivion.

...To sum up the year thus far: They caved on executive amnesty by funding DHS, they caved on the Iran deal by passing Corker’s bill, then they caved on executive amnesty again by confirming Loretta Lynch, and now they’re preparing to cave on ObamaCare subsidies if the Supreme Court ends up shooting those down in King v. Burwell. All in the name of showing 2016 voters that the GOP can govern without any new shutdowns or debt-ceiling standoffs.

Which is to say, given a choice between letting Obama implement his agenda and risking a new shutdown, the new majority will take the former every time. Maybe the base’s growing awareness of that explains why the GOP’s congressional leadership, which took power in a massive landslide last November, already has a negative job approval rating among its own rank and file:...

(Pew Poll results at the link.)

RoJo has very good reason to think he's the most endangered (R) this election.  But while he may be #1, it's a damn close race.

Paul Ryan Has Gone Wacko

There's no other way to say this.  Paul Ryan's open-borders stance has become a mania; now he's trying to ram ObozoTrade through the House.  (ObozoTrade is suspected to have open-borders and/or H1-B ramifications which will be bad for US citizen/workers.)

Don't let Ryan tell you otherwise:  Paul Ryan has NEVER READ the ObozoTrade treaty; he has no idea what's in it--and yet he's trying to rammajamma the damn thing up our asses?

"Shut Up, Bend Over, and Take It!"--Teh Gays

Part Two of the plan is already formulated.  Let's see how the Sniveling Solons cave.

...Powers has dubbed today’s intolerant purveyors of leftist causes the “the illiberal left” because, as a liberal herself, she sees them as anything but liberal about allowing a voice to those who don’t toe their rigid line. Her book catalogues and analyzes the dehumanization and demonization techniques the illiberal Left applies towards anyone who dares to veer from their rigid narratives. Their sacred cows include abortion, climate change, same-sex marriage, and second-wave feminism. Dissenters are systematically smeared and destroyed....

(As is happening to Powers while I pixellate these words.)  But you knew that, right?

Onward!!

...The American Unity Fund is a heavily funded new super-PAC looking to blanket the country with LGBT anti-discrimination laws. In effect, those laws aim to wipe out any alternative voice to the LGBT agenda. The effort is being spearheaded by billionaire hedge fund manager Paul Singer and another wealthy hedge fund manager, Tim Gill....

Gill, like him or not, has been very successful with his (State-level) Secretary of State project, electing rabid Leftists to those positions.  Believe it or not, that has had significant ramifications in many States.

...they’ve adopted the Orwellian slogan “Freedom for All Americans.” The intent of the slogan and campaign is to stir up the idea that we need a lot more anti-discrimination laws in America because there is so much bigotry and hate throughout this land of ours.

The ultimate goal of the campaign, according to The New York Times, is passage of a national LGBT anti-discrimination law. In the meantime, Singer and Gill, et al. will be pushing for ever more and ever stricter “anti-discrimination” and “anti-hate” laws in state legislatures....

300 million H8trs, so little time...

...One of the coordinators of the project, hedge fund manager Dan Loeb, told The New York Times that pushing for these laws is “critical in order to change understanding against gays.” In other words, the laws themselves are supposed to lead to a change in the public attitudes....

Old Law:  Thou Shalt Not Sodomize.  New Law:  Thou Shalt Not Speak.

....Laws intended to change how individuals think—about anything—require enforced silencing. If the “Freedom for All Americans” meme is about freedom (which it’s not), then it’s only about negative freedom. That is, freedom from “discrimination.” Freedom from “hate.” Which basically gives carte blanche to those holding power (ultimately, the state) to define and cherry pick whatever “discrimination” and “hate” may mean before granting whatever due process is left over for the accused....

Think of Eric Holder combining with the IRS to "help you understand" sodomites.

Don't think it can happen?  Look to Canada, as the linked essay does. Look to Canada, and fear.

A few posts down, I joined in criticism of Geller for her provacateurism.  It is stupid, and unnecessary.  But she has a right to do it--as the Constitution clearly says.  Should the Gill/Loeb/Singer plan become law, she, and the other 300 million H8trs, will no longer have that right.

Skeptical Believers

Scott Walker hasn't managed to convince SoCons.

Yah.  There's a reason for that.

And the "Constitutional Amendment" thing, Scott?  We all know that's merely tossing a bone.  You'll never get it past Mitch McConnell.  You know it.  We know it.  Just admit it.

Lindsey Graham's Attempt at Manhood

Lindsey Graham would like you to think he's a man, or something.

If I’m president of the United States and you’re thinking about joining al-Qaeda or ISIL [Islamic State], I’m not gonna call a judge. I’m gonna call a drone and we will kill you.  --quoted at PJMedia, from WaPo

That's the sort of crap that 5th-graders yabble on the playground.

Graham may have an excuse:  he's a professional politician, after all.

The Amtrak Disaster

Remember, now, folks:  Tommy Thompson really, really, really, loves Amtrak.

...A year 2000 assessment of Amtrak's use of taxpayer relief funds makes it clear that Amtrak wasn't, at the time, entirely sure it was actually a public transportation system and not a retirement hobby for people who like trains. Despite spending over $800 million in "capital improvement projects," Amtrak could not be sure it used any of the money for the right projects, couldn't be entirely certain that it used it for projects that were completed, and you get the sense that the GAO wrote the report in the spaces between body-wracking sobs of utter frustration.....

Yes. Well.  Tommy Thompson was appointed Chairman of Amtrak in June, 1998.  He did a helluva job as a "reform" Chairman, no??

...In 2013, Amtrak did its own audit with Ernst and Young, which was, like the GAO report, unintentionally hilarious in its content. Thanks to the brilliant minds overseeing the rail project that's supposed to move Americans from city to city in a cheap and efficient manner, we can now be sure that as recently as two years ago, Amtrak itself recognized a host of material weaknesses in its own financial management, and could not, it appears from the report, figure out how much money it had, how much money it owed, where its money went or why it had money in the first place. ...

Apparently since Tommy left, things may have deteriorated.

Now comes Obozo and his gang of Very.  Intelligent.  Idiots.  You know:  Top. Men.

...it seems that the Administration itself, through it's management and budget office, recognized that even ostensibly important improvements to Amtrak weren't necessarily worth the money - or, for that matter, worth giving Amtrak the money to do them. In fact, the whole House committee he was testifying in front of was adamant that the PTC wasn't worth the cost, not surprising for, say, Republicans, who have opposed spending more money on Amtrak without the organization improving its financial oversight, but surprising as far as Democrats are concerned...

That was in 2011, when (D) and (R) congresscritters opposed Positive Track Control.  PTC was not operative on the train which took a 50 MPH curve at 100 MPH.

Don't worry.  You'll be paying for Amtrak, subsidizing its Ruling Class Riders--and its feckless, useless, Members of the Board for the next century or so.

Unless there's a revolution, of course.

The Extreme Generosity of Wisconsin Taxpayers

We note that Da Union is very unhappy about this.

....The majority of Wisconsin state employees don't pay a deductible. Under the [new] plan, they would pay $250 annually. That amount would double for families.

Annual maximum out-of-pocket payments would also increase from $500 to $1,000. Families covered by the program currently pay a maximum $1,000. That would increase to $2,000....

This is one hell of a generous health plan, far more 'rich' than almost any found in private industry, even in union shops.

Shut up, Marty Beil.

Next step for Wisconsin SHOULD be forcing removal of spouse/partners who are eligible for other health coverage but who utilize this extremely generous Wisconsin package.

Another Ruling Class Treaty?

Apparently, Mitch McConnell has decided to give Obozo whatever he wants in the Trans-Pacific Partnership, the cross-oceanic version of NAFTA.  That would continue the (R)/Ruling Class' track record of demolishing the US economy--but that's not the Ruling Class' problem.

As with NAFTA, it's your problem.

...Between 2000 and 2010, 55,000 U.S. factories closed and 5 million to 6 million manufacturing jobs disappeared. Columnist Terry Jeffrey writes that, since 1979, the year of maximum U.S. manufacturing employment, "The number of jobs in manufacturing has declined by 7,231,000 — or 37 percent."

Does the Journal regard this gutting of the greatest industrial base the world had ever seen, which gave America an independence no republic had ever known, an acceptable price of its New World Order?
...

And you'll hear the lies about "cost of labor,"--which cost, in a well-run plant, are about 5% of the cost of the goods produced.  Oh, yah, that's really significant. /sarcasm

Keep your eyes on the (R) House; watch Paul Ryan bend you over the table while he worships at the barstool of Boehner.

Remember it.

The Unjust Removal of Bp. Finn

We've all heard the "story" on Bp. Finn of Kansas City:  he tolerated a porn/pedophile.  Thus, he was canned by the Vatican.

But that's not the whole story.

Donohue explained that, “In 2010, a computer technician found disturbing crotch-shot photos of girls fully clothed on [Fr.] Ratigan’s computer; there was one naked photo of a non-sexual nature. Even though there was no complainant, a police officer and an attorney were contacted by diocesan officials.

They both agreed that the single naked photo did not constitute pornography. After Ratigan attempted suicide, he was evaluated by a psychiatrist – at the request of Finn. Ratigan was diagnosed as depressed, but was not a pedophile. Finn put restrictions on Ratigan, which he broke.

The diocese then contacted the authorities, though it had no legal mandate to do so. Finn ordered an independent investigation, even though there was no complainant. When it was found that Ratigan was again using a computer, an examination revealed hundreds of offensive photos. The vicar general, Msgr. Robert Murphy, then called the cops (Finn was out of town). A week later Ratigan was arrested.”

The article also explained that since assuming leadership in Kansas City-St. Joseph in 2005, the bishop “has been the subject of vitriol for undertaking efforts to refocus the diocese’s direction in union with the Church…Shortly after his arrival, a local newspaper circulated a derisive eight-page issue focused entirely on biasing the faithful against the bishop...”

Doesn't look like what you thought you knew, eh?

The Problem With Pammy Geller

Pammy Geller is a fanatic.  Fanatics--as they desperately attempt to get attention for their cause--are not helpful.

...violence could have been expected, which was almost certainly the point. Geller and her associates “have the right to go there, but again, it’s stupid, it accomplishes nothing,” said Bill O’Reilly, whose brand of pop-conservative opinionating has kept him in the top seed of prime-time cable talk shows since he joined Fox News in 1996. “You don’t fish for [terrorists] by putting people in danger.”

O’Reilly was chatting with Laura Ingraham, the sharp-tongued doyenne of right-wing talk radio. Ingraham is the pillar of truth or a priestess of hate, depending on the eye of the beholder, but numbers don’t lie—she has successfully made a name for herself in a male-dominated field in which hosts generally hew to the hard-line orthodoxy on immigration, terrorism, and religion.

But when it comes to Geller’s stunt in Garland, Ingraham seemed to be calling for a time out: “The idea that this is going to be beneficial to us—and I come to it from a Catholic Christian conservative perspective—to rile an entire faith this way … to do what was done at this (contest) … it not only doesn’t accomplish anything, but I think it could actually make things worse for us.”

“Us” in this case means those who have made it their agenda to expose radical Islam as a tool of oppression and terror against non-believers....

I've stayed away from the Geller/Islam thing because I think her stunt was stupid.  It still IS stupid, and the point was made well in the above-excerpted essay.

The End of Cash?

This kind of stuff has been running around the interwebs for a couple of weeks.

...Monetary policy, whether in the form of “conventional” methods such as the micromanagement of policy rates or so-called “unconventional” measures such as QE, has proven utterly ineffective when it comes to both “smoothing out” the business cycle and reigniting economic growth in the wake of severe downturns....

...a sane person might be tempted to call it a day on the monetary experiments, especially considering that at this point, the limits have been reached....

...But not so fast, say folks like Citi’s Willem Buiter and economist Ken Rogoff: the world could always ban cash because if you eliminate physical currency and force people to use a debit card linked to a government controlled bank account for all transactions, you can effectively centrally plan everything. Consumers not spending? No problem. Just tax their excess account balance. Economy overheating? Again, no problem. Raise the interest paid on account holdings to encourage people to stop spending. So with Citi, Harvard, and Denmark all onboard, we bring you the latest call for a cashless society, this time from German economist and member of the German Council Of Economic Experts Peter Bofinger....

When cash is outlawed, only outlaws will have cash!!

And yah, it will be interesting to see them try this; "alternative cash"--aside from gold/silver--is a neat package of brass, lead, and powder suitable for use on East Coast economists and Central Government slime.

No Judge--But a Warrant, Anyway

Think the Fourth Amendment is still in force?  You haven't met the Administrative State.

...The EEOC charged Trinity with violating the Americans with Disabilities Act, and demanded information about all its employees who had used up their Family Medical Leave time and were terminated.

Trinity argued that Hasan's firing did not justify the burdensome and expensive process of complying with the EEOC's administrative subpoena for such other terminations of employees, plus those were irrelevant to Hasan's case.

Under the non-existent Fourth Amendment standards that have developed for these warrants issued unilaterally by bureaucrats, a federal court in Indiana rolled over for the EEOC.

The message to all employers: firing one employee opens you up to a judge-less warrant from the federal government
....

That "DISOBEY" movement becomes a lot more attractive every single day.

The VA: Time to Re-Org It?

It emerges that the VA is far more than a killer of veterans.  It is also out of control (just like IRS and EPA.)

...Frye, deputy assistant secretary for acquisition and logistics, first brought to light problems of abuse back in March. He decided to air the information publicly after his 35-page memorandum to VA Secretary Robert McDonald went completely unanswered.

The sum total of the chaos amounts to at least $6 billion in wasted funds spent in violation of federal contracting rules,...

(McDonald, ex-CEO of Procter & Gamble, has proven to be a useless barnacle, by the way.)

In the real world, this would call for a "re-org," whereby all the mid- and upper-level management is fired and replaced by outsiders who are competent and ruthless in pursuit of excellence.

Of course, D.C. is not the real world, and (frankly), Obozo and the Obozoids could care less.

"Spengler" Thinks Well

"Spengler" (David Goldman) thinks cogently on foreign policy.  No surprise:  he also thinks Ted Cruz gets it far better than the Warmonger Crowd of Kristol and Krauthammer.

...Sixteen years of George W. Bush and Barack Obama will leave the next president with a different world: a new Sino-Russian entente directed against the US, and chaos in most of the Middle East. Both are the consequence of foreign policy utopianism.  We destroyed the century-long balance of power in Iraq and Syria by forcing majority rule in Iraq, and stood godfather to a perpetual Sunni-Shi’ite civil war. We tried to flip Ukraine to the West, and Putin allied with China. We have scored nothing but own-goals. We are spending a trillion and a half dollar on the Edsel of the air, the F-35, and have allowed China to narrow the technology gap that once made the United States the dominant superpower.

The foreign policy establishment of both parties agrees that it is America’s mission to remake the world in its own image, although the liberal Wilsonian and the neo-conservative Republican versions of this utopia have minor differences. We need a president arrogant enough to ignore the whole pack of them, just like Reagan did. That requires arrogance more than any other quality....

Indeed.  Leaving a Bush/Obozo world to your children would be tantamount to imposing the death penalty on them.  While the Aborto-Culture would approve, actual Americans will not.

Amtrak: Bloodsucker v. FCC Bloodsucker. Deaths Ensue

Let's get one thing straight:  there is a Republican who loves the daylights out of Amtrak.  His name is Tommy Thompson.  Yah, "Mr. Common Man."

With that as prelude, let's examine Amtrak a bit more closely.

...Here’s an update for those who live in the DC-New York-Boston “Acela Corridor.” Outside that area, Amtrak passenger trains are usually distant and are generally known for being dirty, having really bad food, being chronically, unbelievably late on their schedules, still being pretty expensive, and generally being a far less attractive option than driving or flying.

So it’s no surprise that most of the country views Amtrak as a white elephant that is not worth their tax dollars. It’s almost as if the federal government doesn’t exist to serve the needs of the DC-to-Boston corridor....

Yah.  This is "let them eat cake" in neon.

[The MFM] view[s] this, not as evidence of Amtrak’s failure to serve most of the country, but as the country’s failure to serve Amtrak.

The Ruling Class wants its perks.

Serve them up, suckers.

And, as pointed out by Cold Fury, the Amtrak story gets .....yup......worse!

...Amtrak had installed the “Positive Train Control” system on the track where a speeding train fatally crashed Tuesday, but the system was not switched on....

And that is because:

...Amtrak informed the committee it has encountered delays turning the PTC on throughout its system because of the need to get the bandwidths required to upgrade the radios to a higher MHz, which improves reliability.

Yup.  FCC won't give them the bandwidth they need.  Until, maybe, next year.

Rubio: 'We Are the Savior of the World'

Marco Rubio has gone the full Neo-Con

(Let's hope your kids like active participation in war.)

...it’s the strategic belief in American morality and its link to foreign policy that drives the neoconservative movement.

Rubio hit all those notes: lofty words, with a measured tone—citing JFK and Pope Pius the 12th.
“America plays a part on the world stage for which there is no understudy,” Rubio said. He went around the world, criticising the regimes of the so-called Islamic State, Iran, Russia, China, Syria and North Korea. “Mankind remains afflicted, and… its destiny still largely remains in our hands.”

...Rubio said he would “advance the rights of the vulnerable—including women and the religious minorities that are so often persecuted—so that the afflicted people of the world know the truth: the American people hear their cries, see their suffering and most of all, desire their freedom.”...

Whirled Peas for dinner, brought to you by Marco and the US military-industrial complex.

RoJo: Man, or Mouse?

This graf pretty much sums up the problem that Ron Johnson will have next year.

...For decades now, the largest political gap in this nation has not been the gap between Republicans and Democrats, nor even that between conservatives and liberals – it has been the gap between the Washington Ruling Class on the one hand, and the rest of us who pay for them on the other. And no issue provides a contrast as stark as Congress’ special exemption. When Republicans on Capitol Hill don’t get that, and won’t act to overturn the special exemption, they provide fuel to fire the anger of those who insist there’s no difference between Republicans and Democrats. That’s not a good place to be as a crucial presidential election kicks into gear....

The stink of McConnell (et. al.) is all over RoJo.  What makes him better than any (D)?

The Hospital Racketeers

This post reminded me of something.

The post describes the workers' comp/hospital racket in Michigan.

Not materially different from the racketeering of the health "insurance"/hospital game in Wisconsin, where a particular service covered by health insurance is billed out at about HALF the "list price" for the same service if one is NOT covered.  The insurer provides those numbers for you.

You're supposed to be grateful, or something.

Coupled with that is the recent announcement that Aurora Health's profits have jumped TWO HUNDRED TWENTY PERCENT since ObozoCare.  They're raking it in on Medicaid and ObozoCare members.

Don't expect a decrease in overall rates, folks.

Memo to Judiciary

A most useful note from Cicero:

True law is right reason in agreement with nature; it is of universal application, unchanging and everlasting; it summons to duty by its commands, and averts from wrong-doing by its prohibitions.

Think they'll pay attention?

RoJo's Failure Theater

We all know that Sen. Ron Johnson has completely succumbed to ObozoCare.

But he thinks we're all stupid.

...A couple of weeks ago I posted on the pathetic attempt by Wisconsin Sen. Ron Johnson (R-WI) to save Obamacare subsidies should the Supreme Court rule them illegal. His strategy is to float a bill that looks like a repeal of Obamacare but with the odd exception of funding subsidies to people who purchased insurance via federal exchanges. Why, you might ask, would a bill that purports to kill off Obamacare fund subsidies to a program it ended? Because everyone knows that the bill that goes to Obama will have had anything objectionable stripped out. The GOP can claim to have voted, yet again, to end Obamacare while, in fact, funding it....

ObozoCare MUST have the individual mandate, which RoJo supports.  The company mandate?  Not so much.  So......let the suckers in Wisconsin think RoJo's doing their will, while--in fact--he's doing exactly what Obozo wants.

Sure like to know what sort of pictures Obozo has in his Opp Research file.

Jokers to the Left, Liars to the Right, Stuck in the Middle...

Face it.  Elections do NOT matter, Ron Johnson's half-wit statement aside.  (He voted twice to confirm Eric Holder's female clone--and claimed that "elections matter" after the 2014 (R) landslide.)

Yah.

Now comes the (R) Congress' "balanced budgets."

Liars.

...why would Republican budgets assume $2 trillion in bogus revenue?

If the Republican budgets accounted fairly for the revenue lost through their policy assumptions, those budgets would never balance. On a static basis, the extension of the “tax extenders” takes the Senate and House budgets from balance to deficits of $81 billion and $64 billion, respectively, in the 10th year. These deficits more than double when the loss of tax revenue from Obamacare is factored in. To highlight the extent of this gimmick, the total projected deficits under these budgets increase by more than 124 percent after accounting for the loss of Obamacare and the loss of revenue through tax extenders. These budgets balance in name only.

We can answer the question above:  Republican Ruling Class members think you are stupid.

Maybe you are.  You elected a bunch of liars.

When You Wish Upon a Star....

...makes no difference who you are/  Anytime the Man desires/  You lose your job.

Fate is kind/ She brings to those who love/ The sweet fulfillment of/ Their secret longing...

(Which is to train your replacement and go on unemployment for life)

Like a bolt out of the blue/ Suddenly it comes to you/ When you wish upon a star/ You lose Your JOB!

Steve King Gets It. Grothmann, Sensenbrenner MIA

Since our Blackrobe Class has issued a number of inane rulings, we should take away their toys.

Congressman Steve King, R-IA, introduced the Restrain the Judges on Marriage Act of 2015, which would strip all federal courts of the right to change state laws on marriage.

Yup.

Not ONE Wisconsin delegate has co-sponsored.  But some will yap all day long about being "conservative" and that "the Gummint has too much power."

Spell them H-Y-P-O-C-R-I-T-E-S instead of "Grothmann" and "Sensenbrenner."
