All About S702 Spying on YOU

Tidbits that tell a lot about what The Government can learn about you.   Reminder:  Jim Sensenbrenner, a self-described "Conservative" voted FOR this spy system.  So did Paul Ryan, whose motives were not as pure as Senselessbrenner's were.......

...Searching the highly classified NSA database is essentially a function of filling out search boxes to identify the user-initiated search parameter and get a return on the search result.

FISA-702(16) is a search of the system returning a U.S. person (“702”); and the “16” is a check box to initiate a search based on “To and From“. Example, if you put in a date and a phone number and check “16” as the search parameter the user will get the returns on everything “To and From” that identified phone number for the specific date. Calls, texts, contacts etc. Including results for the inbound and outbound contacts.

FISA-702(17) is a search of the system returning a U.S. person (702); and the “17” is a check box to initiate a search based on everything “About” the search qualifier. Example, if you put a date and a phone number and check “17” as the search parameter the user will get the returns of everything about that phone. Calls, texts, contacts, geolocation (or gps results), account information, user, service provider etc. As a result, 702(17) can actually be used to locate where the phone (and user) was located on a specific date or sequentially over a specific period of time which is simply a matter of changing the date parameters.

And that’s just from a phone number.

Search an ip address “about” and read all data into that server; put in an email address and gain everything about that account. Or use the electronic address of a GPS enabled vehicle (about) and you can withdraw more electronic data and monitor in real time. Search a credit card number and get everything about the account including what was purchased, where, when, etc. Search a bank account number, get everything about transactions and electronic records etc....

Neat, hey!!  And they did that totes illegally, beginning with the B. Hussein Obama regime.

Only a fool would bet that Biden didn't do the same.*

Will Trump do it?  Probably not; he is an honorable man.

Will the Deep State do it without permission from Trump?*

Damn straight they will. *

*Supposedly the "about" function was removed from the system in 2016.

“Will Trump do it? Probably not; he is an honorable man.”

Straight up gaslighting on your part.

So, yes, Trump has ordered the use of S702. It fits his profile—his administration awarded contracts to the tech company Palantir, which is helping Trump develop a database of Americans’ private information, scraped from various government agencies, that is able to be used to track anyone he personally deems to be his enemy.

So why is the Trump Administration still using it?

"That’s infinitely, heck, exponentially worse."

That doesn't say what he thinks it does.

You use "think" in reference to Anony. You are far too generous in your assessment of his mental capacity, Grim.

Aside from that, we distinguish FISA/702 abuse for political purposes from generic data-scraping done by Biden allies Meta, LinkedIn, Insta, (et.al.) Oh, yes, and Palantir.

But "distinguish" presents a mental challenge for Anony which is likely insuperable.....

And--of course--the NSA database of everything on ALL US citizens still exists, just as it did during Obozo's regime, when Marc Elias and Daniel Richardson (hired by Comey for just this purpose) were using it to spy on Trump-affiliated people.

It is no surprise that Elias' former law-firm Perkins, Coie, "separated" from Elias a couple of years ago. The brown stuff will splatter all over their white shoes and shirts.

Any system or process is only as good as the overall integrity of the people who operate the system. Anything created with the very best of intentions will eventually be abused. Creation and operation are the relatively easy part. Prevention of abuse always seems to be relegated to backend operations and receives the least energy. This is not a new thing. We learn so very slowly.

And yet Trump allows the NSA database to run.

A person uses that phrase when they can’t muster up a cogent argument. Try again.
