Here's Robin Vos in a podcast answering a question about spending $390 MILLION to 'improve'* American Family Field.
...if for some reason we do not have the Brewers in Wisconsin all of those player salaries that generate dollars for the State of Wisconsin go away." ...
That's true, of course.
But the headline on Little Local Pravda's web-page says '........Wisconsin coffers will take a hit.'
"Take a hit"--when used by normal non-propagandist people--connotes serious damage.
What would the State lose from player income taxes if pro baseball were to go away?
About $12 million.
*The 'improvements' would have nothing to do with baseball. Newer, better, kitchens and bar lounges are on the docket, and they're there only to 'keep up with the other teams.'
