Another non-surprise in the making.
First grade teacher Melissa Tempel, who spoke out about Waukesha Schools' decision to ban "Rainbowland" by Miley Cyrus and Dolly Parton from a spring concert, said the district's superintendent has recommended she be terminated from her job....
First of all, what happened to Tempel's purple hair? Are we seeing the "cleaned-up" version of Tempel here? If so, why?
Second: there is more to the story. No employer fires someone over a solitary incident, especially one which is an 'opinion' matter such as song lyrics. This woman has a track record of troublemaking and the District decided that enough was enough.
Finally: if you examine all the stories, not just the pity-party crap from Little Local Pravda and Channel 58 about this 'song' thing, you'll find that the music teacher was the one who blew the whistle on Tempel, not the school principal, nor anyone on the Board. If you think about that for a few moments, the picture gets a lot clearer.
Expect to see a lawsuit, and expect the District to win, thank God.
The message from the Super: the Teachers' Union no longer runs Waukesha Schools.
