These results are terrible.
The percentage of students who scored “proficient” or better dropped in every subject area statewide, according to an analysis by the USA TODAY NETWORK-Wisconsin:
- English: 39% of test-takers were proficient or better, a 6% drop from 2019.
- Math: 39% of test-takers were proficient or better, a 12% drop from 2019.
- Social studies: 49% of test-takers were proficient or better, a 3% drop from 2019.
- Science: 52% of test-takers were proficient or better, a 4% drop from 2019.
"Proficient" is "at grade-level." Don't let the term confuse you (which is the intent.) And reading those scores the right way tells us that SIXTY-ONE percent were less-than-grade level in English and Math; FIFTY-ONE percent were less-than-grade level in Social Studies, and FORTY-EIGHT percent were less-than-grade level in Science.
Your local School Board will tell you that it's due to terrorist mama bears, of course.
You'll be *SHOCKED* to learn that there'a a lot of RRRAAAAAAAAACISM!!! in those tests and results, too.
Yup. That's the ticket!!
