For the time being, Yellen has backed off her SuperSnooper plot. Now, moving more than $10K through your account in any year gets IRS scrutiny. Because they can.
But there's a noticeable flavor to her retraction.

Foremost, the reporting threshold will be raised to $10,000, addressing a key concern from critics who considered $600 to be too low to merit IRS snooping.
Yellen also announced an “exemption” from the measure “for wage earners like teachers and firefighters.”...
Those two happen to be THE most Democrat-voting unions in the universe.
