Think the Polls Are Bad for Obozo? This Is Worse.

President Barack Obama was greeted with fleeting applause and extended periods of silence as he offered profuse praise to soldiers and their families during an Aug. 31 speech in Fort Bliss, Texas.

His praise for the soldiers — and for his own national-security policies — won cheers from only a small proportion of the soldiers and families in the cavernous aircraft-hanger.

The audience remains quiet even when the commander-in-chief thanked the soldiers’ families, and cited the 198 deaths of their comrades in Iraq and Afghanistan.

The audience’s reaction was so flat that the president tried twice to elicit a reaction from the crowd.
“Hey, I hear you,” he said amid silence.

The selected soldiers who were arrayed behind the president sat quietly throughout the speech.

That wasn't the worst part.  This is:

CNN and MSNBC ended their coverage of the speech before it was half-over.

Maybe he'll have better luck in New Orleans, now that he's found it necessary to show up there.

This description of the speech is pure horse manure. I just watched it and the description by Neil Munro cited in your link is a lie, pure and simple.

This was not a campaign speech so there was no over the top cheering, but the audience applauded often and many times signaled their appreciation for the president's words. The soldiers standing behind the president positively did not sit "quietly throughout the speech." The president received a warm ovation at the conclusion of his speech.

Jeez, can a Republican writer ever speak the truth?

How much of the speech did Fox cover, by the way?

Jim needs a wetnap to wipe the Obama jizz off his chin.

That's rich, when you've got a slew of left-wing Democrat supporting "fact checkers" and the media writing column after column of their creative reinterpretation of Republican speeches in order to construe a "lie."

And, despite having watched the speech, I perceive your "objectivity" the way I perceive theirs: non-existent.

their creative reinterpretation of Republican speeches

Republicans NEVER do that, right?

Interesting that facts are so biased.

And the accomplice media ended coverage before 1/2 the speech was delivered was because why, Jim. Jim?

Non, I watch MSNBC and Fox all the time. Obama, Biden, Rmoney, and Ryan are giving speeches every day. The news channels rarely cover 100% of any daily speech. They do often make them available online.

This is just a case of, once again, some people trying to make something negative about Obama out of nothing.
