Weep/Wail Kenosha PBS Station. Really??

The manager of a PBS "affiliate" is worried about Trump cutting off PBS funding.

That would make things a struggle, ya'know.

... “We don’t benefit directly from federal funding, but because we’re an affiliate of Wisconsin Public Radio, it will have an impact,” said David Cole, WGTD’s general manager. “It goes back to how important it is to have these local voices, covering government, education, business, nonprofits, things that affect people directly.”...

Umnnhhhh.....

How much rent does WGTD pay to Gateway Tech for its studios, Mr. Cole?  Looks like a very nice taxpayer-paid environment you have there......all in support of 'local voices.....affecting people directly....'

Property taxes affect people directly, too.

Big Pharma Guy Dislikes Trump (!!!)

Gee.  Here's a shocker.

...Protestors in Ozaukee demonstrated against the Trump administration, its immigration policies and what they describe as executive overreach.

"We don't accept the way things are and the way things are going," said Joe Colacino, a Bayside resident who joined the protest. "We care about people. We care about human rights... As long as we're out here getting the message to some people, we'll make some people think."...

What Joe Colacino doesn't tell you is that he is a Big Pharma guy.  Has been for 30++ years.

Add 2+ 2 here, friends.

Kevin O'Leary Confirms Dad29

 Heh.

Back in January, we called Trump's Tariffs a "consumption tax."

Kevin O'Leary finally caught on.

A consumption tax is extremely middle class + lower-class- + family-friendly.

So it won't last long if the Democrats get into power.

Remember Hunga Tonga?

Don't ponder for too long.  99.44% of you purely do not remember.  But you do remember "global warming," right?

Try this for warming:

...For the first time since water vapor tracking began, the amount of water vapor in the atmosphere is pegged out at the maximum, all across the board. It is literally off the charts.

Corporate media is ignoring the most influential and dramatic climate event in modern history because you can’t legislate underwater volcanoes. They don’t pay taxes or emissions penalties. You can try to regulate underwater volcanoes, but they stubbornly won’t listen. And what’s the fun in that?

Corporate media only exists to further political ends. Since volcanoes aren’t subject to politics, why bother?...

Hunga Tonga blew its top in '22.  The aftermath in water vapor is expected to last five years or so.

Israel Demolishes Catholic Church in Gaza

Perhaps Israel mistook the Catholic churches for Iranian nuke sites?

Several people have been injured at the Holy Family Church in Gaza City, with some unconfirmed reports that it was hit by Israeli artillery shells.

Catholic Church leaders referred only to it being "struck by a raid" in a statement, but Italy's prime minister blamed Israeli forces.

The Israeli military said it was aware of the reports of damage and casualties at the church, adding that "the circumstances of the incident are under review".

Many displaced Christian families from the small local community have been living in the Roman Catholic church since the war began after their own homes were destroyed....

The rest of the story is in the Epstein files.

Imperial Judiciary?

 AOSHQ quotes the following:

Federal judge James Boasberg advised Chief Justice John Roberts and some two dozen other judges that his D.C. colleagues were “concern[ed] that the Administration would disregard rulings of federal courts leading to a constitutional crisis,” according to a memorandum obtained exclusively by The Federalist. That Judge Boasberg and his fellow D.C. District Court judges would discuss how a named Defendant in numerous pending lawsuits might respond to an adverse ruling is shocking. Equally outrageous is those judges’ clear disregard for the presumption of regularity — a presumption that requires a court to presume public officials properly discharged their official duties--quoting The Federalist.

All together now:

DEFUND

All of 'em, including Queen Hannah of Milwaukee.

"Completely and Totally Obliterated"? Nope. Or Maybe.

Once you remember that Trump is a Real Estate Developer, you understand his speech.

Partially Full-of-S**t.

Remember the "Completely and Totally Obliterated" Iranian nuclear facilities?

Yah, not so much.

One of the three nuclear enrichment sites in Iran struck by the United States last month was mostly destroyed, setting work there back significantly. But the two others were not as badly damaged and may have been degraded only to a point where nuclear enrichment could resume in the next several months if Iran wants it to, according to a recent U.S. assessment of the destruction caused by the military operation...

Remember that there are 'individuals......familiar with the reports' who totally despise Trump and want him gone.  Take that into account.  Why do we say that?

...NBC News has also learned that U.S. Central Command had developed a much more comprehensive plan to strike Iran that would have involved hitting three additional sites in an operation that would have stretched for several weeks instead of a single night, according to a current U.S. official and two former U.S. officials....

Central Command is filled with brass which very much loves Israel.  We cannot say whether they are WarPigs like Sen. Graham, but it would not be a shock.

So are they?  Are they not?  Who's on first?  Is the Rapture at hand?

The answer is in the Epstein files.

Hey, TMJ4!!! Name That Joke-Judge!

As usual, the Milwaukee "nooz" refuses to name the joke-judge who set a killer free.

...TMJ4 learned Wednesday that this isn't the first time the driver has tried getting away from police.

In 2017, court records show he led New Berlin Police on a chase, reaching speeds of 90 mph. He was found guilty, and a Waukesha County Judge sentenced him to one month in jail, three months of work release, and two years probation.

In 2024, he was found guilty again of fleeing police and possessing a firearm as a felon.

A Milwaukee County Judge stayed the driver's two year prison sentence and allowed him to do a work release program for six months followed by three years probation....

The "Milwaukee County Judge" should be named.  There are two serious counts here, and one is a repeat 'fleeing police.'  Possession by felon is also very serious.  WTF?

What Joke-Judge freed this guy--who looks like he's going down for a MANSLAUGHTER count?

The "Nooz" snoozes.  Again.

Hey!! Mayor Johnson!! How About.....

Surely there is a commission, or a committee, or a blue-ribbon research group in Milwaukee that has heard of Project Exile?

Project Exile is a federal program started in Richmond, Virginia, in 1997. Project Exile shifted the prosecution of illegal technical gun possession offenses to federal court, where they carried a mandatory minimum sentence of five years in federal prison under the federal Gun Control Act of 1968, rather than in state court. Note that federal law (18 U.S. Code § 922(g) & 924) provides for a penalty of ten years in federal prison for being a "prohibited person", i.e., a convicted felon in possession of a firearm, as well as for falsifying information in order to obtain one, or furnishing a gun to a convicted felon....

As to the "exile" part:  the convicts were placed in Fed lockups 200-1000 miles from home.

Not to worry, criminals!  Milwaukee won't do it.  Didn't do it when it was first invented, hasn't done it since (about THIRTY years) and the Mayor is waaaayyy too comfy with his homies in the DA's office doing not.  one.  damn.  thing.  serious about gun crimes.

PPI Still Waiting for Tariff-Flation.....

The Producer Price Index (PPI) cannot put its finger on Tariff-Flation.

... Headline and core PPI printed cooler than expected (unchanged MoM), well below the expected +0.2% MoM (in fact it was lower than all estimates)...

Headline PPI rose 2.3% YoY (down from a revised higher 2.7% in May and below the 2.5% expected) - that is the lowest YoY print since Sept 2024...

Among the prices moving higher?  Electricity.  Why?  The Green B.S. of windmills and sun-catchers, which accounted for a 10% hike in residential electric charges in Wisconsin since January '25 (e.g.).

The PPI measure is 'wholesale' to the COL 'retail'.  Thus you will find cost-of-living increasing marginally in the next 60 days.

That's a far, far, far cry from the DOOM DOOM DOOM of the MSM projections.

But you won't hear it from them.

Artificial Intelligence? Eh, Nope.

We've mentioned that "AI" is not intelligence.  It cannot (and will not) ask "Why?"  But that's just the beginning, as mentioned here.

...[A]s sober-minded people know... artificial intelligence is not intelligent. Large language models scour pre-existing texts and are highly efficient at pattern recognition. But they entirely lack the capacity for judgment or an experience of reality allowing them to engage in those second-order reflections typical of rational entities to see if a statement corresponds in any meaningful sense with primary reality as reality presents itself for our understanding and judgment. The so-called “hallucinations” of AI are good indicators of this fact....

But yes, there is reason to be concerned.

... It isn’t so much that AI is failing, but that the materialist, physicalist, and reductive visions of intelligence, which guide and govern AI boosters and coders, fail as an account of consciousness and intelligence.

As Adam Frank notes, “the current discussion about consciousness has a singular fatal flaw” infecting not only AI but most of the relevant disciplines, namely, it has overlooked “our experience.” Modern science, he argues, has swiveled between two competing accounts of consciousness – physicalism or idealism – with physicalism reducing consciousness to the “physical mechanics occurring in the neurons” that (supposedly) generate consciousness itself. Idealism, on the other hand, attempts to free mind from matter and allow it a free-floating existence.

For anyone formed in the Aristotelian-Thomistic tradition, these are not, and cannot be, live options. As rational animals we are entirely animal and entirely rational; we are not two distinct substances of body and self, nor do we simply have bodies or have minds. Instead,
we are one being with two distinct principles, body and soul. And while the soul is the form and act of the body, it isn’t a distinct entity from the body, and certainly the body cannot explain its own existence, operations, or life....\

The concern?  That some (many?) will understand AI as definitive, and--worse--that they will accept te materialist-reductionism behind the cult.

Managing the News? No Doubt.

The Other McCain demonstrates why the Left loves the MSM:

...Governor Newsom — considered a leading “mainstream” contender for the Democratic Party’s 2028 presidential nomination — is supported by a corporate marijuana producer who uses foreign child labor supplied by human traffickers. How much of this would you know if you got your news from ABC, NBC, CBS, PBS or CNN? The correct answer is zero, because those outlets almost completely ignored this story....

Now look at how SeeBeeEss ran that story:

...After riots at a California marijuana farm where ICE conducted an operation arresting 200 illegal immigrants, Los Angeles correspondent Carter Evans repeated on Friday’s CBS Evening News what someone he interviewed about the matter told him, mainly that “she feels like pretty much everyone with brown skin is a target.” ...

“As for the raids in Camarillo and another nearby cannabis farm, the Department of Homeland Security claims it entered with search warrants, rescued at least ten migrant children from potential exploitation, and arrested what it described as 200 illegal aliens, while more than 500 rioters attempted to disrupt operations. The standoff lasted for hours, well into the night.”...

Yes, it's the same raid (!!)

"Journalism"?  How about "boot-licking"?

Republicans Covering Up.......

The House Rules Committee's Republican majority is covering something up.

House Republicans rejected an amendment demanding the government release all Jeffrey Epstein files on Monday, with every GOP member of the House Rules Committee except Ralph Norman and Chip Roy opposing the proposal. Norman supported the measure. Roy did not vote....

Which Republicans voted to keep you in the dark, you miserable Bible-toting gun-clutching rabble?

Virginia Foxx

Michelle Fischbach

Erin Houchin

Nicholas Langworthy

Austin Scott

H. Morgan Griffith

Brian Jack.

No doubt there are good reasons for that.  We'd love to hear them.

Ever Hear of Elbridge Colby?

Yah, that's a name that is NOT on the Epstein list, but a lot of the Fake & Ghey governments (Britain, Japan, Australia) dislike him intensely.

Awww.  That's too bad.  You can read the entire--rather short--editorial at this link, but here are the key grafs:

...To refit a meme, what did y’all think “America First” meant? Vibes? Papers? Essays? Colby needs no introduction, and his credentials need no defense. He is an intellectual star of the realist right, and perhaps the only such to hold a top position since at least the days of James Baker and the first Bush administration. He wrote the 2017 National Defense Strategy elaborating on the return of “great power competition.” As an official, he was one of the first to focus on the rise of China, and wanted to act on it instead of merely talking about it. His book is about a defense of Taiwan in extremis, The Strategy of Denial: American Defense in an Age of Great Power Conflict, in which he coined the titular strategy. (While I disagreed with some policy parts of the book, it is a logically sound doctrine in its own merit.) I know him personally and he is polite, responsive, and appreciative of disagreements, including from his critics!

The main contention against Colby comes from a section of entrenched interests who claim that he disgruntled American allies. Well, so what? Apparently he was brusque to the British when they performatively mentioned sending the HMS Prince of Wales, one of their two aircraft carriers, to the Pacific; he asked whether it was too late to turn it back. The Japanese cancelled their July 2+2 meeting when he asked them to raise their defense spending, and the Australians and Japanese both were taken aback when he asked for concrete logistical plans from their militaries in case of a Chinese invasion of Taiwan. He was also one who asked for a review of weapons being sent to Ukraine, given the shortages at home. ...

Let us remember this:  The American Conservative was founded--in part--by Patrick J. Buchanan, who ran the original America First campaign.  Donald Trump's theft of that title is a compliment to Buchanan--but Trump will never acknowledge PJB's pre-eminence, and if  you know anything about the history of Buchanan (and Sobran) you will know why.

(Wondering still?  Think "Amen Corner.")

So when PJB's outfit says England, Japan, and Australia are--effectively--Fake and Ghey "warriors," you can rest assured that they are.

Can Mike Lawler (R-NY) Be Serious?

Nice to know that Rep Lawler thinks criminals should be prosecuted.

Monday on CNN’s “News Central,” Rep. Mike Lawler (R-NY) said the controversy over Jeffrey Epstein was a “colossal waste of time and effort.”

Lawler said, “Look, as I’ve said, I’m not exactly one to subscribe to conspiracy theories. So from my vantage point, if somebody committed a crime, if somebody affiliated with Jeffrey Epstein committed a crime, they should be prosecuted. In the absence of that, frankly, this seems like a colossal waste of time and effort and, frankly, a lot of nonsense. There are a lot of issues facing this country right now, a dead pedophile ain’t one of them.”...

So the "waste of time" centers only on trivia such as "Who paid Epstein" and "Why did they pay him."

Nothing to see there.  Move along.

OK, Mike:  where are the prosecutions of the kiddie-rapists?  Hmmmmmm?????

Roger Kimball Says YOU Are the Epstein Problems!!

Kimball has that Eau d'Elite odor.

...I understand that the public’s appetite for scandal is a hardy perennial. The story of who is doing what to whom—especially if the “who”s are celebrities—is calculated to give prurient interest the gratifying cover of “the public’s right to know,” not to mention an opportunity to indulge in a little tongue-clucking moral outrage....

See?  It's you prurient-interest scandal-chasing lowlife Flyover Country inhabitants who are the problem.  (And you probably have tightly-clutched guns and Bibles, too.....)

Further, you rubes, you're off into Conspiracy La-La Land.  Overactive imaginations or thyroids or sumpin'sumpin.    Trust ol' Roger because.........because.

...that brings me to the word “conspiracy.” Is the whole drama of the Jeffrey Epstein story a conspiracy, with shadowy government/business/celebrity figures pulling the strings in the background?

Or is it merely a conspiracy theory, i.e., a tale fabricated by people who want to believe in a nefarious puppet master in the background and are determined to go on believing it, evidence be damned?...

K, Roger:  what contrary "evidence" do you bring to the table?

Hint:  none.  Well, except for Hugh Hewitt, Roger's pal.  Hewitt, you see, is right.  That's evidence.

... The most difficult revelation to come out of the Epstein investigation, Hewitt notes, is that there are no revelations. The moral? It is “Time to move on! There really—really!—is nothing to see here. Spread the word if you know anyone afflicted with the malady: It is OK to walk away from the conspiracy.”...

Roger also has advice for (guess who?)  Tucker Carlson!!

...Doubtless, there will be other conspiracies coming down the pike soon. Sometimes they are real conspiracies, as in the example of Julius Caesar. Very often, however, it is just a matter of grassy-knollers hoping, praying that the Commie Lee Harvey Oswald was not the man responsible for killing JFK. Memo to that coterie: Oswald killed Kennedy. He acted alone. End of story. ...

Note well that Roger, the Cloud Person, deliberately misses the point, as does Hewitt, just as does Trump:  they hope to move the discussion to "a list" and "a suicide" rather than to the matters which are of real concern:  Who were Epstein's actual employers, and how did those employers utilize the videos to affect national policies here and in Europe?

Those are questions that Trump, Hewitt, Kimball, and hundreds of other D.C. Deep-Staters do NOT want asked, and more important, never want answered.

Screw you, Roger.

Trump Gets Ratioed On Trump Social!

The Donald completely mis-read his voters.

Defended Blondi (accompanied by all his typical bluster and bullsh*t) and got bodied.

Hard to read the public if the public is the Oval Office hangers-on, puffers, and camp followers, eh, Donald??

"Dramatic" Layoffs at State Department?

As usual, the "nooz" takes dictation from the Left and/or Deep State, fails to ask questions.

...Layoff notices are going out to more than 1,300 employees of the U.S. State Department Friday.

The firings are part of a dramatic reorganization and a push by the Trump administration to drastically downsize the federal government....

And of course, this will "endanger" the US.

Really?

Looking at State Department documents, it appears the department went from 57,340 total employees in 2007 to 72,895 in 2015 to 80,214 in 2024. So it grew by nearly 23,000 employees before the 'devastating' cut of 1,300....

Maybe the "reporter" on this story has not yet graduated from high school.

That's about the only excuse for this crap.

Hey, Blondi!! What About THIS??

Our No-See-Em Ms. Bondi has another project that is waaaayyyyy overdue.

Investigators and journalists appear to remain at a loss as to what motivated 20-year-old Thomas Crooks to allegedly try to kill Donald Trump as the first anniversary of the assassination attempt on then-former president and candidate Donald Trump approaches on July 13....

CBS and other sources tell us that he was 'focused on grades', was a 99-percentile SAT scorer, and he kept to himself.  It seems that nobody knew why he tried to assassinate Trump.  Following the shooting, his home was 'scrubbed' clean and his parents refused to talk to anyone except, perhaps, investigators.  If you believe Blondi's peeps, they did not provide any info about 'motive.'

Perhaps there are clues.

...he began using an encrypted email service and a virtual private network while focusing more on news, explosives, and ammo.

That summer, Crooks had bought a rifle from his dad for $500 and signed up for a membership at a local shooting range, the network reported, apparently using it to shoot more than three dozen times....

The FBI has had his phone(s) for a year.

Is Apple refusing to unlock them?

The Mussolini-Hegelian State of the US

Thanks to Claremont and the AOSHQ, we have another essay by the great Angelo Codevilla, and it contains a warning against what is now operative in the US, as well as against what could be.  Warning:  if you like your Congress-critter, do not read this.

...Hegel, as well as the positivist and Progressive movements, had argued for the sovereignty of expert administrators. Fascist Italy was the first country in which the elected legislature gave up its essential powers to the executive, thus abandoning the principle, first enshrined in the Declaration of Independence and the U.S. Constitution, by which people are rightly governed only through laws made by elected representatives. By the outbreak of World War II, most Western countries’ legislatures—the U.S. Congress included—had granted the executive something like “full powers,” each by its own path, thus establishing the modern administrative state....

That would make Wilson an ur-Hegelian here, and Roosevelt his most significant disciple and implementer.

...After Franklin Roosevelt’s inauguration in 1933, Mussolini’s enthusiasm for likening the New Deal to fascism’s political-economic order was tempered only by the need not to give additional ammunition to FDR’s domestic opponents, who were saying precisely that. Yet, ab initio, he made clear that “the spirit of [FDR’s program] resembles fascism’s since, having recognized that the state is responsible for the people’s economic well-being, it no longer allows economic forces to run according to their own nature.” Mussolini also published a glowing review of U.S. Agriculture Secretary (eventually Vice President) Henry Wallace’s 1934 book, New Frontiers. Fascists rejoiced that FDR had forsaken liberal for corporativist principles, and that the world’s most powerful country, the country most admired by Italians, had taken the trail they had blazed....

Note carefully Codevilla's clause "....the US Congress included..."

Congress deliberately gave away its legislative powers during (and following) the Roosevelt imperial rule.  The reason?  Re-election.  The members of Congress, then and now, were popinjays, showboats, drunks, womanizers........in brief, Not Serious People. (Yes, there are exceptions.) To them, responsibility was a burden they would not bear--so they licensed the Fascist-Hegelian State to rule in their stead.  Then they could proceed on their merry way with silly proposals designed to embarrass the other party, plenty of in-secret and not-for-the-record votes in committees, and "laws" full of language which begged for "interpretation" by malign parties.

Not.  Serious.  People.

Congressmen knew:  no one elects bureaucrats, therefore no one can UN-elect them.  Given the hiring practices of Government, our Bureaucrat rulers are legacy twits with Big Name College education, homogenous social backgrounds, and--of course--a deep and abiding belief that Government Experts Know Best.  That's because they ARE the Government Experts, you see?

As a backstop, they have the Ultimate Power:  they can say "Nope" to anything.

Mussolini's organization of society is also echoed here.

...Socioeconomic organization was fascism’s defining feature. Only employers’ and employees’ organizations approved by the government were allowed. They represented and collected dues from any and all in their category and territory, whether these had signed up with them or not. In 1925 these had agreed “voluntarily” to recognize each other as “exclusive representatives,” to subordinate interactions at the local level to central organizations, and to draw up procedures for their cooperation under government supervision. The Law of Corporations of April 3, 1926, codified this political-economic order. No longer would corporations be responsible to owners. Thenceforth, they would answer to higher duties as defined in the law. As Mussolini put it, “In a world of social and economic interdependence…the watchword must be cooperation or misery.” “Labor and capital have the same rights and duties. Both must cooperate, and their disputes are regulated by law and decided by courts, which punish any violation.” This resulted in the orderly servicing of interest groups, fascism’s daily preoccupation....

Wonder no longer how DEI and CRT became the regnant corporate/labor union philosophy, friends.  The Statists made it clear:  you can cooperate and implement Our Plan or you can die on the vine.  Thus we have FLSA, EPA, EEOC, ERISA, OSHA, and swarms of  Fed, State, and local agencies created to "help workers" but more importantly, to beat into submission private organizations using their Unions to assist; and if the Union got uppity?  Ask Jimmy Hoffa.

...The view that the New Deal was “fascism without the billy clubs” was well-nigh universal among FDR’s opponents on the Left (e.g. Norman Thomas), as well as on the Right (Herbert Hoover). It could hardly have been otherwise since the essence of the National Industrial Recovery Act—the involuntary inclusion of all participants in categories of economic activity and their subjection to government-dictated prices, wages, and working conditions—was at least as detailed as those in fascism’s corporate law. The U.S. government had brushed aside the Supreme Court’s objections to the National Recovery Administration in A.L.A. Schechter Poultry Corp. v. United States (1935). By 1942, in Wickard v. Filburn (still “good law” today), the Court approved regulation of all manner of enterprise with reasoning stricter than any Mussolini had used in 1926. Today, by the same token, Senator and 2020 presidential candidate Elizabeth Warren’s proposed “Accountable Capitalism Act” would also force corporations to enroll into a legal scheme in which the government would force them to service various stakeholders as government regulators would decide from time to time. Such tools are far more powerful than billy clubs....

Warren's proposal is only a matter of degree, not of substance, of course.  The substance was baked into the cake decades ago.

(The Managerial-Fascist State bred its own Security State apparatus, too.  And when the job is too dirty for the FBI, the CIA steps in.  Don't cross them--no matter your position--or else.  Ask JFK.  Or Reagan.  Or Trump.  The latter two were near-misses, but warnings to them and to all the rest of us, like the J6 prisoners.)

Little-known factoid:  By whose language are today's Conservatives decried as "Fascist"?

...Stalin elaborated the doctrine of “social fascism” which, verbiage aside, meant that Communists should consider all to the right of them—essentially all who were not under Communist discipline—as “fascists.”...

Teodor Adorno (a Communist) adapted Stalin's thought with his ooogledy-booogeldy "scientific analysis" in The Authoritarian Personality.

If you were vaguely suspicious of the multitudes of "People's This" and "Community Thats" throwing the Fascist-bomb around, you now know their source.  If you are surprised, you are stupid.

Sad to say, Trump's crusade to reverse Communist- or Communist-inspired programs and crusades along with their millions of bureaucrat enforcers (America First!!) also uses the very same bureaucracies.  Congress, the Not Serious People agglomeration,  is perfectly fine with that, as Doing Nothing generally assures re-election.

The common thread here is the mal-feasance and/or non-feasance of Congress.

Get it?
