Two monster dumb comments from a "Prince of the Church" running his yap at Catholic U of America.

There is NO SUCH THING as a "new.....tradition."  That's a contradiction in terms.

But it gets better!

  ...There's a book, a liturgical history book by the author [Theodor] Klauser, and he said that two hundred years after Trent, there were still places that were celebrating the pre-Tridentine Mass....

That's because Trent specifically allowed such celebrations if they were "immemorial custom" (like the Tridentine Mass is.) 

The Cardinal claims a Ph.D. in "Liturgy."

Yah, well, WE claim a Ph.D. in Quantum Physics.  And I know as much about that as the Cardinal does about liturgy and--for that matter--the English language.
