"National Divorce"? Even Grim Talks About It

Well, he doesn't actually "talk."  He posts on his blog.

Grim is not an outspoken opponent of the FedGov, so this is a bit of a surprise.

...Yet there can come a point at which that thing, however impossible to consider, is no longer avoidable. The ship is going to sink, and nothing can save it now.

I think all this talk about a 'national divorce' is close to that category. Not for ordinary people; many and almost most of us not only can think about it, we can see the value of it. ...

Hmmmm.

Apparently the possibility is attractive to a helluvalot of people:

...we’re almost certainly talking about somewhere between 100 and 150 million Americans who think it’s entirely possible the country may need to be split into red/blue sections or alternately, who expect a civil war to crank up.  --Grim quoting Culturcidal substack...
MTG brought it up.  She is the Congresswoman representing a good friend of mine.

Grim observes--correctly--that FedGov people absolutely do not want it to happen (DOH), so their tactic is simply NOT to talk about it, nor countenance much, if any, discussion.  But then there's this:

...At some point if trends continue, the decision will be made without the government... in spite of the government... to put an end to the government. That does not necessarily entail violence. The government in Washington may continue to meet, but it will no longer rule because people will no longer obey -- and no power exists that can compel 330 million people to obey a power they no longer recognize....

True.  But love of the FedGov exists in lots of big cities.  Not hard to see it if you look at the 2020 election map with red/blue counties.  So not ALL 330 million will disobey.

But there will be angst plus a bunch of sturm und drang.
