In reading an article about the Census Bureau's jiggering of the '20 Census, we encountered an error about States which lost representation; the list did not include Wisconsin.
To double-check our creaky memory (was it '10 or '20?) I went to the DuckDuckGo AI.
That was wrong:
"Wisconsin lost one congressional seat due to redistricting following the 2020 census, which reduced its representation in the U.S. House from eight to seven districts"
Yah, nope.
Wisconsin has EIGHT Districts. Spakovsky's essay:
... Due to population decreases, seven states each lost one congressional seat: California, Illinois, Michigan, New York, Ohio, Pennsylvania, and West Virginia...
Summarily: the Census Bureau is worse than AI. AI is worse than creaky memory.
So "Progress" is not all that it's cracked up to be. Remember that.
