Russia sells about 30% of the fertilizer used in the US and the percentage is far greater in other countries. Ukraine and Russia together produce about 13% of the food-calories consumed worldwide. And let's not forget that there are serious drought conditions in the Midwest and West of the USA.
Meantime, the Bidenš¤” Administration has been busy with more handouts, specifically to farmers.
The Biden administration announced on Wednesday that it would expand a program that pays farmers to leave land fallow, part of a broader, government-wide effort to cut greenhouse gas emissions in half by 2030. The new initiative will incentivize farmers to take land out of production by raising rental rates and incentive payments. ...
