The RoadBuilders: "The Money?? That's ALL OURS!!"

Gotta love the twisties called 'logic' by the RoadBuilder lobby here:

...Under Walker nearly $1.5 billion in general fund support was provided to the transportation fund. This underscores — proves, in fact — the inadequacy of current law transportation fund revenue....
See the hidden argument?

OK, then, here it is:  "Transportation fund" must be big enough to satisfy all the wants of the RoadBuilders.  "General fund" money must only be used for "general fund" purposes (whatever they may be) and NEVER for RoadBuilders, because if it is already in the "transportation fund" WE GET IT, NOT YOU TAXPAYER-SUCKERS, dammit!!

Sure, guys.   There's a few hundred million excess revenues in "general fund", so all the faddle spewed here about 'irresponsible Walker' is just that.  He ran a tight ship and certain Moneyed Interests don't like that at all.

Surprised?

There's more bitching!!

The repeal of gas tax indexing in 2006 has led to a 12 percent decline in the purchasing power of gas tax revenue.

*snif*

That's exactly what was supposed to happen.  In the Good Old Days, when the RoadBuilders ran everything (think Tommy Thompson), gas tax revenues were all THEIRS, no matter the amount, and--by the way--no legislator was accused of increasing taxes because no legislator ever VOTED on the rape/pillage scheme.

Now those poor babies, the RoadBuilders, have to convince the taxpayer that they MUST give them mo' money.  The taxpayers--those dirty deplorables--may not agree, of course, which is a frightening thought.

What they want is a guaran-damn-teed pile of revenue for themselves, locked into a vault that only the RoadBuilders can open.

Game on.
