The Pope recently remarked that 'there were no such problems [sexual abuse] in my Archdiocese'.
Well, maybe that's not true. LifeSite reviews a long article in Der Spiegel and sheds light on the question.
....As the Spiegel further explains, “during Bergoglio's time as
cardinal, many of the abuse victims in Buenos Aires [the former
episcopal seat of Jorge Bergoglio] had turned to him for help; nobody
was permitted access to him.” Julieta Añazco and other victims now
demand a civil legal process against their abusers. There are currently
62 trials going on against Argentine priests. As the Spiegel
says “the number of their victims could be in the thousands.” As Añazco
says, “it is difficult for us, because nobody believes us. We wish to
reach the Pope, but he is not interested in us.” ....
The Holy Francis is right: there's a lot of clericalism going on. It went on in his own Archdiocese of Buenos Aires and it's going on now in Rome. HH is writing the book on it. Suggested title: "How Perverts, Bishops, Cardinals, and I, Jorge, Demolished the Church"

We are all complicit in the heresies and evils of Jorge Bergoglio. HIs wickedness and perfidy are of our making - because for decades we sat back, comfortable, while the perverts, the effeminate, the pedearasts, the heretics, the homopredators, the pedophiles, the sodorapists, and the ennbling clergy sashayed around in the vestments that were their dresses, and took over the earthly power in Jesus's church. We were comfortable because they let us believe, and we believed, that either what we were doing was not sin or was not such a bad sin. We were the willing frogs in the evil hellish cauldrons of the devil's minions, Jorge and his cohorts. If Jorge is a heretic, we are heretics. If Uncle Ted is a criminal, we are criminals. If Cupich and Mahony and McElroy and Dolan and Siller and DiNardo and OMalley and all those taking part in the homococaine orgies in thh Vatican with the male prostitutes paid for with the faithful's money and all those who engaged in or raped innocent boys trafficed via the Jorge/Vera connection and____ . . . not enough time or space to list them all . . .if all these are not to inherit the kingdom, then we are not to inherit the kingdom. If all these criminal priests, predator bishops, archbishops and cardinals abd their shuttlers and enablers are to be indicted and convicted, under RICO and state criminal laws, then we are all convicted. We are all guilty as charged. May God have mercy on us all. Guy McClung, TExas
Sorry, pal.
I'm no heretic, and neither are millions of other Catholics. You could take a course in remedial Theology; it would be good for you.
I know you are correct. It is just that I see myself and so many others having sit still and quiet all these decades, in essence letting all this unfold, without lifting a hand or saying a word. I may not be the one who sowed the wind, but I didn;t complain about the whirlwinds until too late. Guy Mcclung, Texas
Mr. McClung, I and virtually all Catholics (except, apparently, for many in the hierarchy, the Vatican, and in the clergy) knew nothing of these evils that were being perpetrated and tolerated in the Church.
Therefore, we have NO culpability for them.
You likely are like the rest of us. And one cannot be blameworthy for non-culpable ignorance.
Now, we are aware. And now we Catholics are fighting and praying for the Church to be purged of these evils.
So, no, only those who knowingly acted and failed to act deserve to be called guilty before the Most Holy Trinity.
This is a very good time to review your basic combat training. It's just amazing what one buttstroke to the head will do in adjusting the attitude of coverup-artist bishops.
