A Hitch in Charlie's Giddyup

Dennis Prager quoted at Ace's Place:

...Charlie brought me the manuscript of his forthcoming book arguing that everyone—Christians as well as Jews—should observe Shabbat, the Jewish Sabbath, just as he and his family had begun to do from Friday sundown to Saturday sundown....

Catholics--and following them, Christians in general--deliberately chose Sunday as the day of rest.  The old law was fulfilled in Christ and through His Resurrection, which took place on Sunday.

Perhaps Charlie didn't know that.

I was actually thinking about that idea this morning as I readied for Mass. I'd read somewhere he'd recommended putting aside the cellphone for the Sabbath. And I thought another Christian who thinks that adopting Jewish customs somehow enhances our Christian observances. It reminds me of those parishes that have passovers during Holy Week.
