This jackassery started showing up about 2 months ago.
...Multiple street takeovers occurred throughout Milwaukee on Saturday night, leading to numerous 911 calls and raising concerns about police staffing shortages.
Videos obtained by 12 News show chaotic scenes at various intersections, including 6th and Clybourn, where someone was hit by a car, and 76th and Good Hope Road, where crowds flooded the intersection.
At Holton and Capitol, the haze of burnt rubber filled the sky....
Yes, it's the Usual Suspects.
MKE Mayor "Corvair" Johnson (unsafe at any speed) whimpers out a written statement which he probably did not write:
... "Simply looking at what is seen in this video, any person with sense can tell that these street takeovers are reckless dangerous and ripe for someone to be injured. We should continue the work that my administration started months ago to combat these events it's long overdue for an ordinance that my office championed with the Milwaukee Police Department to move forward."...
Oh, yah. making it illegal for peeps to watch--that'll do it!!
(Not to mention that any fire- or rescue- vehicle trying to get through those intersections would NOT get through; they'd have to go around, if possible, and delay the mission. Too bad, so sad.)
We have a suggestion! (Don't complain unless you have a solution!!)
Employ a .50 cal M-2 against the offending cars. Not the drivers, not the assembled crowd. Just the cars. A couple dozen rounds through the engine and transmission should do the trick.
Think someone else will bring their car to another 'street takeover' after that?
Try it. What can you lose??

Since you’re so eager, why don’t YOU give it a try, Chickenshit29?
Good idea, dad
People don’t like to lose their cars
Some of those street takeovers in Milwaukee have become rather sophisticated. They run scouts and blockers to essentially close all lanes in all directions several car lengths from the intersection. Unlucky regular stopped traffic adds an extra buffer keeping law enforcement well away from the immediate action. Scouts relay law enforcement’s flow to the scene… and the bad boys pick another direction to make their exit. Everyone left behind just claims to have been innocently caught in the traffic backup.
