Shameful "Reporting" From CBS-58

 This is what passes for "reporting"?

Dozens of people came together Wednesday, April 23, to learn about how potential cuts to Medicaid could impact services for people with disabilities.

Last month, a leaked memo showed Congress is exploring cutting $8.8 trillion from Medicaid over the next 10 years......

So far, so good.  There were dozens and a serious look at Medicaid is on the table.  But that serious look will focus on fraud, waste, and abuse.

Is that what "Hands Off Medicaid" wants to retain?  Fraud, Waste, and Abuse? 

...The cuts are not certain yet, but there is fear and uncertainty over how people who need critical services will access them if they're cut. ...

The fact that the cuts are "not certain" should have been at the top of the piece, not buried in the middle.  Shameful.

...Among the proposed cuts:

• A program that provides legal representation to protect civil and human rights of people with disabilities.
• State councils that promote advocacy and leadership for people with disabilities.
• University centers that conduct national disability research and education.

As to the first two, audits will determine if they are or are not fraudulent or abusively channeling taxpayer dollars into lefty activists.  Wanna bet about the outcome? 

As to the third:  this is the reform of the current situation, where taxpayer money os going to provide first-class plane fare, club memberships, exotic travel destinations and Class A office spaces--not to actual researchers--but to college and university "administrators."  Trump's proposal is to reduce those "overhead" charges to only 15% of the grant, leaving 85% for actual research and development.

Rife should have known that and said so.  Shameful. 

...Haase told us if Medicaid programs are dismantled, it could impact her staff of 14, which in turn could impact the people they serve. ...

Yah, and IF the world ends, so will Medicaid programs.  "IF" is a very big word.  Reiff should have underscored her Sky-Is-Falling silliness.  But he didn't.  Shameful.
