Reality Check actually checks reality--and guess what? Kamala is full of s**t.
Vice President Kamala Harris thinks she’s come up with quite the devastating talking point for her White House run by lambasting her rival Donald Trump for the tariff hikes he’s proposed or suggested during his own campaign: These measures, she’s argued, among to a “Trump sales tax” that will further raise the cost of living for inflation-weary Americans.
Yet what she hasn’t, or won’t, admit is that her own administration has just imposed – not proposed – what by her standards are clearly “Biden sales taxes” or “Biden-Harris sales taxes” on a considerable amount of imports....
Must have been a long time ago, right? She can't remember everything.
...The announcements came on September 13 – that is, not so long ago. They not only boosted duties on on Chinese exports of electric vehicles, batteries, and battery parts (which have attracted considerable attention). But, attracting much less attention, they also increased Trump administration levies on the following products: facemasks, lithium-ion non-electrical vehicle batteries, medical gloves, natural graphite, other critical minerals, permanent magnets, semiconductors, ship-to-shore cranes (used in ports), solar cells, steel and aluminum products, and syringes and needles....
Oh.
So she imposed a "tax" on us for batteries, medical globes, syringes, needles, and medical gloves.
Glad those taxes aren't for anything important.
