Assuming that number is accurate, Israel is now very barely north of 0.5%. Well, no, not quite because the population has grown by 300,000 since the war began; so, less than zero percent. Indeed the total population is up from 12.5 million to 14.3 million over the last decade.
This is a point I keep making, but it’s important. Israel is extremely effective and efficient. If they’re not making a dent in the population it’s because they don’t want to. They are fighting a serious war, in densely populated urban terrain, but they’re clearly not attempting a genocide. What they are trying to do is less clear, except that they are ripping out the tunnel network, which involves very widespread destruction of buildings. The physical devastation is tremendous, although comparable to WWII era urban battlegrounds like Dresden or Tokyo, the latter of which suffered more than Hiroshima or Nagasaki. Dresden lost the least: 25,000 in a few days.
And the Christian communities get destroyed in the process. ( for many in Israel this is an added bonus. ***** Not our friends**** ). And the worse is we get to pay for this destructions via our own tax dollars
