Why Dimon Screeches Over 10% Credit Cards.....

Jamie Dimon is the Big Kahuna at JPMorgan Chase, a Big Kahuna Bank in New York City.

His Big Kahuna Bank issues lots of credit cards getting interest rates of anywhere between 15-30%.  That's an excellent return, to say the least.  Some would call it "Usury," but let's not get hung up there.

Dimon started screaming like a stuck pig about Trump's desire to max out credit card rates at 10%.  Dimon predicted all sorts of maladies beginning with 'some people will not get (usurious-rate) credit,' then moving to 'the economy will collapse if people cannot get credit cards,' and going apocalyptic over the Rise of the Oceans and Baking of the Plains.

Last night's "news" brought triumphant squawks from the Coiffed Ones that 'US consumers are paying the cost of tariffs according to a [Kiel] study.'

Well, that 'study' has major flaws which the Coiffed Ones will not mention.

...Their key finding is a coefficient of −0.039, with a standard error of 0.024, significant only at the 10 percent level. For non-statisticians: this means the estimate is quite noisy. With 25.6 million observations in their dataset, achieving only marginal statistical significance suggests enormous underlying variation in the data. ...

 ...The deeper flaw lies in what happens when tariffs reduce imports, which is exactly what the study says occurred. The authors report import values and volumes fell by roughly 28-33 percent. This is where their methodology breaks down....

That's because exporters stopped selling the low-priced goods.  Why?  Because they could not take the hit to margins required by both maintaining their low price AND paying the tariffs.

 Finally:

...the Kiel data only goes to HS6, a much broader category that might simply be “frozen beef.” In short, they are measuring tariffs with a ruler and prices with a yardstick.

This means when the authors assign a tariff rate to their data, they’re using an average across products that actually face quite different tariffs. Some sub-products within “frozen beef” might face 50 percent tariffs while others face 10 percent. The mismatch means their tariff variable is measured with error.

The consequence is predictable: when your key independent variable is noisy, statistical results get biased toward finding no effect. And “no effect” of tariffs on unit values is exactly what the authors interpret as “full pass-through to Americans.”  ...

He's feeling the heat of a US Attorney investigation focusing on his total non-cooperation with the Criminal Removal Unit of ICE.

Groceries AND Electricity Prices. Where's the "MSM"?

Fed "Judge" Forcing Insurrection Declaration

Here we have another "Democrats Be Democrats" story, along with 'Another black-robed DEI appointment takes the stage story.'

...[Fed judge in MN] Menendez’s order bars Homeland Security and ICE officials involved in Operation Metro Surge from “using pepper-spray or similar nonlethal munitions and crowd dispersal tools against persons who are engaging in peaceful and unobstructive protest activity.” The judge also prohibited federal agents from stopping vehicles following them, as long as those vehicles are maintaining a safe and “appropriate” distance....

To a great degree, that ruling is a big "Doh!!"  The prohibitions are utterly useless--except to lawyers who will be raking in mint (paid by taxpayers) for 'civil rights violations' which are purely a matter of judgment by on-scene officers and commanders.

 More serious:  the ruling tends to push the Government into a declaration under the Insurrection Act, bringing in the 101 Airborne or perhaps a couple of MEUs.

Note well:  the 101st was called in to counter the deliberate civil rights violations in Arkansas perpetrated by the Democrat Governor and Democrat Mayor of Little Rock.

During last night's broadcast (the 5:30 portion), Perry mentioned the story about the ICE agent in MPLS who shot and killed the insurrectionist-Barbie.  DHS issued a statement saying that 'the agent suffered from internal bleeding' as a result of getting whacked by the insurrectionist's vehicle.

Perry--in an incredible moment which betrayed his Hard Left self--remarked that 'some people disagree' on whether that agent had internal bleeding.

Yah, well, Teddy:  'some people disagree' that the Earth is round-ish, too.

This marks another giant step toward Teddy Perry's long-term visit in an asylum.  Too bad.  He makes a great Bucky Badger.

So an Administrative Warrant is sufficient for arrest of illegals who are violating the law.

 ...perhaps President Trump might compel a reluctant John Roberts to take action in a more genteel way. Quite simply, the president can organize and host a summit of the leaders of the three branches of government to discuss constitutional roles and responsibilities of the branches of government they lead, and how they constitutionally interact with each other. There should be just four attendees at the summit: President Trump, Chief Justice John Roberts, Speaker of the House Mike Johnson, and Senate Majority Leader John Thune....

The discussion will center on Article Two's first sentence, of course.

Throckmorton has ideas!!

 • Ask Roberts, Johnson and Thune their understanding of the role of federal judges, what constitutional powers they have, and why.

• Ask Roberts if he defends the rogue activism of district judges. If so, explain why. If not, advise why it is being allowed.

• Discuss what the Executive and Legislative branch “checks” on the judiciary are in our “checks and balances” system. What powers do Congress and the Executive Branch have to check rogue judges?

• Should there be more balance in the application of checks and balances? Courts are very aggressive about checking other branches’ powers. Why are there no checks being imposed on the judiciary?

• Ask Roberts his opinion on judges who are routinely overruled. Is repeatedly being overruled by appellate courts a sufficient reason for impeachment?

And most importantly…

• How will Chief Justice Roberts respond if/when Trump announces that rogue federal judges have no constitutional authority to manage the executive Branch, and Trump will no longer comply with their rulings....

There is not enough time to run all the obnoxious, unjustified, or just plain obstreperous "rulings" through the appellate process, and--frankly--the more the Rogue Gang plays its silly game, the more the Common Man in this country grows impatient--and angry--with them.

Something that Roberts should consider for a nice three-day weekend.  MLK weekend will do. 

Colombia Caves to Trump

Was It the VZ Oil? Only Partially

When Trump arrested the dictator(s) of Venezuela, he mentioned the petroleum in that country.  He mentioned a lot of other things, too.  The oil is nice, and will be used to pay debts to US oil companies and to support the citizens of VZ, even though the regime has nearly ruined the oilfields over the last 20 years.

But petroleum is NOT the only reason.  Not by a long shot.

VZ is also a hemispheric center for the development and manufacture of Iranian drones.  It is also a center for drug transportation. VZ was also preparing to invade and conquer a portion of Guyana which just so happens to be sitting on a massive reserve of petroleum.

Most important?  The VZ Government imprisoned its own people in a mini-Gulag. * 

Will the petroleum output of VZ grow and become a staple of that country's income?  Maybe.  But Trump is playing for far higher stakes, the most important of which is the liberty of the citizens of Venezuela.

Yes, the public schools in Minneapolis have been cancelled for tomorrow (Friday) including after-school activities.

Channel 12 Censors MSP Shooting Video

Anyone who pays attention to the news knows that the ABC affiliate in Minneapolis (Channel 5) had video of the shooting (go to 5:00 in this post) from an excellent angle.  It was above the ground and from the front of the car, unlike the home video used by the Leftists.

So why didn't Channel 12--another ABC affiliate--use that video?

Maybe they didn't want you to see it, as it showed the woman's attempt to run over the ICE agent very clearly.

It's not what they tell you.  It's also what they DON'T tell you.

A woman in Minneapolis chose to defy police orders and attempted to run over a Federal agent with her SUV.

The agent reacted by fatally shooting her before she attempted another murder.

So, the Paid-On-Call "demonstrators" showed up--all 80 of them--in downtown Milwaukee, complete with the Most Usual Suspect, Christine Neumann-Ortiz from the CPUSA front called Voces de la Frontera.  The pay is usually $50.00/hour; not bad for a bored AWFL.

There is no good reason for the U.S. to 'live' in a neighborhood with a monster crook only a few doors away.  None.  Especially when that guy kills off our children, arranges the rapes and murders of other citizens, and actively seeks to undermine our Government.

So Trump made a choice, just like most of us did.

Bud Selig Was Right

We have zero love for Bud Selig; even Charlie Sykes figured out the scam.

Although the Little Communists of Milwaukee WILL not say it, their hero--Maduro--was a monster.

Trump to Dump NGOs

It's not hard to find motives for the anti-America First bunch.  

It's the money, honey.

First, Trump cut off USAID.

Now, Trump dumps NGOs.

 ...NGOs, .....  will no longer receive the funds slated for foreign countries. The money will go directly to the countries.

The Trump administration is changing how and where the U.S. government delivers health aid worldwide.

Secretary of State Marco Rubio said the United States would negotiate agreements to deliver aid in new ways. The State Department will focus on the Western Hemisphere and the Asia Pacific.

Rubio’s new approach aims to end “a culture of dependency among recipient countries,” he said.

In the coming months, the State Department plans to negotiate new bilateral agreements with countries to deliver health aid in ways that eliminate nongovernmental organizations....

NGOs were also conduits for kickbacks to friendly US politicians on both sides of the aisle.

Channel 58's Honest Reporting

Channel 58 ran a reasonanbly honest story about the Venezuelan frou-frou.  Unlike the others, they actually counted the pathetic crowd (80+ in their telling) and the anchor led with a clear reference to the Venezuelans who were happy about the event.

80 Communists Screech!!

About 80 (or less) of the local Communist Party gang showed up for the cameras.  We say "Communist Party" because that's the reality behind the screen-names "People for Socialism and Liberation" and "Freedom Road Socialist".

As usual, the protesters were mostly old white hippies and paid-on-call Rent-a-Mob types, with a P.A. system and a one-person drum-line.

Impressive!!

Someone admitted to being a special guest of Maduro in Venezuela on a "peace mission" there.  Next stop Cuba, sweetie??

At least the protesters saved a few bucks, as they re-used their "No Blood for Oil" signs from the good old days' Iraq protests.  They needed the savings given the "affordability crisis" they have since Trump cut off their NGO/USAID funds.
