A historical perspective from Exodus Ezekiel 2:
As the Lord spoke to me........I heard the one who was speaking say to me: Son of man, I am sending you to the Israelites, rebels, who have rebelled against me; they and their ancestors have revolted against me to this very day. Hard of face and obstinate of heart are they to whom I am sending you....
Nothing changed, did it?

It's EZEKIEL 2:2-4 The quotation in the Douay-Rheims translation is:
2 And the spirit entered into me after that he spoke to me, and he set me upon my feet: and I heard him speaking to me [Ezechiel (Ezeckiel) 2:2] 3 And saying: Son of man, I send thee to the children of Israel, to a rebellious people, that hath revolted from me, they, and their fathers, have transgressed my covenant even unto this day. 4 And they to whom I send thee are children of a hard face, and of an obstinate heart
