"Streiff" at RedState posts a mid-length rant about Putin Bad (also Orban Bad). He can't bring himself to say "Zelenskiy Good" because the enormity of that lie is obvious to 4-year-olds.
But there's something far more important than Streiff's opinions on Putin and Orban: other than the Military-Industrial Complex and Big (Reconstruction & Reconstruction Financing) Money, almost nobody in the USA gives a rotten damn about the present, past, or future of Ukraine.
Somehow, in that entire screed, "Streiff" manages to forget that very important fact.

I’ve met Streiff. He’s a good guy, but Cold War era; probably his anti-Soviet youth colors his analysis somewhat.
That said, mostly this is analysis of why Russian peace proposals so far aren’t going anywhere. It’s surely true that continuing US and EU support for the war is the main reason Ukraine feels that it can continue. However, he raises some other good points about where the offers aren’t acceptable (and to both parties: he’s right that Putin hasn’t tried to sell his own public on accepting anything but victory).
Small world, indeed!
He's right.
So what? (That was MY point.)
I grew up during the Cold War. Looking back--and at the geopolitics which are clear today--one wonders how much of the "RUSSIARUSSIARUSSIA" screeching was valid. Hard to believe that Krushchev's generals would advise him to invade the USA, or to nuke us, given the likely consequences of either move.
Would he invade Germany & France, Italy, and Spain? Maybe; but to what end?
