It's fairly easy to get lost in the tall grass of trade agreements, because there is a lot of treaty language which is easy to gloss over and misunderstand. That can lead to conclusions which are not correct.
So when someone talks about "Canadian" steel, it's important to note this: Canada has ONE operating steel mill which produces steel for automotive manufacturers only. All the rest of "Canadian" steel is actually from Communist China; Canada merely serves as a 'fence' to get ChiCom steel into the US.
Similarly, "Mexican" aluminum is actually from Communist China, and Mexico is the 'fence' getting it into the US market.
Gov. Walker is concerned about Trump's tariffs. OK. Is Gov. Walker saying that ChiCom manipulations of currency, slave labor, environmental and safety concerns (etc.) something that he, Gov. Walker, commends?? Does Gov. Walker think that national security concerns about steel and aluminum production are suddenly inoperative?
Really?
