Cite the Clause, Please!!

Notable quote:

...And that’s why building this international coalition has been so important because it means that the United States is not bearing all the cost. It means that we have confidence that we are not going in alone, and it is our military that is being volunteered by others to carry out missions that are important not only to us, but are important internationally.

Think that Obozo will repeat that tonight? Because if he does, someone WILL ask exactly where such 'being volunteered by others' is found in the Constitution.

I think we're moving towards 'high ...misdemeanors' here.

It's nice you're suddenly concerned with the cost of overseas adventures.

Treaties are in the Constitution. The President enters into a treaty with one or more foreign governments. The Senate confirms the treaty.

The treaty therefore becomes part of US law.

Jim, What treaty required us to attack Libya? I thought that a President who ordered an attack on a foreign power who did not directly threaten us was breaking the law? Even Sen. Obama agreed with that. Right?

Oh, that's SOOOO last year!

BTW, Obozo didn't even bother to stress the "treaty" in his gasification of last night.

Raises too many questions.

Come now, Anony, surely Dad29 was complaining about the cost of the war during the Bush years, right?

Come now, Anony, surely John Foust was not complaining about lobbing missiles at a country that posed no viable threat to the US during the Bush years, right?
