Waukesha County DA Brad Schimel made a decision about prosecuting a weapons violation which leaves a few questions un-answered.
For example: what about carrying a loaded and UN-cased handgun on your car's passenger seat?
What does the cop do when he stops someone for Not Wearing a Seatbelt (almost a crime in the Nanny State) and walks up to the car and sees that big black H&K .45 sitting there?
The loaded gun is "openly carried"--it's in plain view-- meaning that it's not subject to the 'cased, un-loaded' proviso of the concealed-weapon law, right?
This should be interesting.

Don't know about ya'll, but that's legal in Georgia with a permit. (Both open and concealed carry are regulated by our carry permit.) In fact, I once got out of a speeding ticket because the cop walked up and failed to notice the openly displayed .44 Magnum revolver sitting next to me until I pointed it out to him. He was so flummoxed, he completely forgot how to handle the ticket-issuing process correctly.
