The columnist here is a retired FEEB who has a serious case of TDS. But the surveys he presents are....ahh.....interesting.......in that Chinese Curse sort of way. The good news? Violence isn't in the cards soon. (But don't let your ammo supplies run down like the Pentagon's!)
...I listened to Pape discussing his idea with Mario Nawfal yesterday. The basic idea—based, he says, on five years of research—is that approval for political violence among Americans of all political stripes has soared in the last few years. His surveys, he says, show that no less than 30% of Americans of both Left and Right approve of political violence. Not fringe types, but ordinary seeming Americans. ...
But the stats he cites in the column do not reflect "all" stripes. Instead, he cites from:
... a survey that was conducted by The Center for Strategic Politics survey on Sept. 3 and Sept. 8-10 among 683 Democratic voters nationwide.....
K. So Lefties. You know them: the Peace and Love Bunch.
...Nearly six in 10 Democrats said they would react positively if military leaders removed President Donald Trump from power, while 55% said the same about Trump dying in his sleep.
Forty-three percent said they would feel “very positive” about the military scenario, while 16% said they would feel “somewhat positive,” bringing the total positive response to 59%. Twenty-eight percent said they would feel negatively, and 13% said they would feel neither positively nor negatively. ...
IOW, 'have someone else do the dirty work--like the Generals, or God. But hey! We're fine with Trump being dead!'
Now look at the cross-tabs tables in the column. What's noticeable?
Old. White. Just like you see at those silly March-A-Rounds and Sign-Wavings.
Maybe they would pound Trump-ists with their canes? Signs? Walkers??
Violence is not the answer, of course--and based on what he presented, it won't be.
