The REAL GM Dipsticks

 It's actually hard to believe that GM did this.

 General Motors is removing one of the most basic tools under the hood of its new trucks: The oil dipstick. No pulling it out. No wiping it clean. No physically checking your oil yourself. Instead, GM says newer engine hardware made it difficult to package a traditional dipstick, so engineers replaced it with an electronic oil-level sensor that lets drivers check their oil from inside the cab. But it was the way they explained it that really set people off. “We were able to delete the dipstick…” Delete the dipstick. Replace it with electronics.

Trust the sensor....

Sure.  Because sensor-warning lights NEVER give you a false flag.  Sensors NEVER fail.
