Guns = "Health" Emergency? An Old Plot

The Governor-ette of New Mexico finally did what the hard-Left has been talking about for three decades:  try to pull a gun ban using "health" as the predicate.  Although her "ban" applied only to the exercise of concealed or open carry of handguns and only in one city, "health" is the vehicle of choice.

That's not new.

The concept has been in circulation since at least the 1990's, when Dr. Steve Hargarten was yapping like a miniature Schnauzer about it while he was at Froedtert.  Little Local Pravda, (which at the time had more than 1,000 paid subscribers) flogged it has hard as possible but it went nowhere because other than monomaniacal gun-grabbers, nobody thought the idea had merit.  It was a made-up pile of bulls**t then, and remains so today.

Every once in a while, Hargarten would push the idea again, Little Local Pravda would write thundering editorials which nobody read, and it would go away again.

It's good that the Governor-ette put it into writing.  Over-reach draws a lot of critical attention, just as it will when Bai-Den declares a "climate emergency" and attempts to shut down vehicular travel and the use of fossil fuels for heating, cooling, and cooking.

By "critical attention" we mean more than a letters campaign, of course.
