NYSlimes Admits Child Poverty Fact #1

Hell must have frozen over while we were busy with Covid.

A New York Times opinion writer is calling out liberals, whom he says ignore one specific factor contributing to child poverty....

...We are often reluctant to acknowledge one of the significant drivers of child poverty — the widespread breakdown of family — for fear that to do so would be patronizing or racist. It’s an issue largely for working-class whites, Blacks and Hispanics, albeit most prevalent among African Americans. But just as you can’t have a serious conversation about poverty without discussing race, you also can’t engage unless you consider single-parent households....--quoted at Breitbart

Doh.

The Rockford Institute's Allen Carlson published a newsletter, The Family in America.  Every month Carlson would produce solid statistical evidence that single-parent households had a poverty problem (with the exception being those families where the father died prematurely.)

That was in the '70's and early '80's.

Think it took Kristof this long to catch up with Carlson?

Or do you suppose that this is some sort of shimmy-shimmy-shake for even more Statism?

Hmmmmm.
