Minor point of order - U-6 (and U-5/U-4) have been around only since 1994. With that said, before the POR (Pelosi-Obama-Reid) Economy drove it up to 11.9% in October 2008, the highest it was was 11.8% in January 1994. Of course, it hasn't been below 15.0% since January 2009.
A better measure of how "historic" the POR Economy has been is the U-1 unemployment (those unemployed at least 15 weeks; stats on that have been kept since 1948. Prior to the POR Economy, the high was 4.2% (set December 1982 through March 1983). The POR Economy busted through that in May 2009, and hasn't been below 5.1% since June 2009.
Hell Steve, didn't know you GOP guys cared that much about U-6.
Since it's you Dem types driving people to drink instead of even try to work, there's more than the usual bit of interest.
