"Crisis" Misses the Crisis

We've been reading Crisis' on-line essays (2 a day!) for several years.  Generally, they're on target.  Now and then, they miss the 10-ring--and in fact, they miss the 5-ring, too.

In an essay which nears Pollyanna level, Michael W Davis praises Pope Francis and has a criticism of Prof. Mahoney.  This essay is one of those which misses the 5-ring with the bullet going off to the left someplace, I guess.

...just last week, National Review’s March edition appeared on the NR website. Its cover is adorned with a cartoon of a dour-looking Francis; the lead article, “Wayward Shepherd,” was written by Assumption College professor Daniel Mahoney. After describing the Pope’s worldview as “a modish and unthinking progressivism,” Professor Mahoney goes on to say: “Let us hope that Pope Francis comes to see the need to uphold authentic continuity in the Church—fidelity to her old wisdom—and not a frenzied chasing after change for change’s sake. This is a hope that is fully in accord with the filial respect that faithful Catholics owe the Holy Father.”...

Mr. Davis does not think Prof. Mahoney will praise Pp. Francis about his exhortation on the Amazon.  Whether or not Prof. Mahoney is moved to respond, some things need be said.

For openers, Mr. Davis,  Francis I has IGNORED a very serious Dubia issued by four sober Cardinals of the Church for one thousand two hundred forty-two days as of this date.

Their Dubia raised questions as to whether Francis was transmitting 'authentic continuity of teaching--the wisdom of the Church' in matters of marriage and the Eucharist. 

Francis I has also spread confusion regarding whether Islam is "the will of God," and then had to "clarify" it in the face of licit, grave, and rational criticism from all quarters.

Pope Francis has sent mixed signals on all sorts of issues; remember "breed like rabbits"?  He decided to allow the Communists in China to--effectively--run the Church in that country, and has utterly failed to stop (much less reverse) the questionable money-handling at EVERY level of the Church in the West.  His Academy of Social Sciences invites guest speakers who are enemies of the Church and of people in general.

Mr. Davis, there is the crisis. 

Just as Prof. Mahoney suggested, filial respect demands that faithful Catholics point out the obvious and pray for the Church.........and the Pope.

Abortion IS Abortion

The traditional battle lines emerge in the pro-life camp.  And (now-) Cardinal Dolan's BFFs are still on the wrong side (!)

A group of Republicans are seeking to change the state constitution to prevent courts from keeping abortion legal, but Democrats contend the measure could outlaw some forms of birth control.

The tactic has split abortion opponents, with some saying the proposed constitutional amendment would hurt their long-term goal of outlawing abortion....

OK, so why the 'split'?  Simple.

Wisconsin Right to Life is the Bush family's kinda-sorta-mostly 'pro-life' outfit, and during his last couple of years here in Milwaukee, then-Abp. Dolan made nicey-nice with them--cutting dead Pro-Life Wisconsin, which is 100% pro-life.

Naturally, the opponents go directly to hysteria as "argument."

Sara thinks that Wisconsin is Saudi Arabia, I guess.  But she isn't alone; a much-better known name also has Dark Premonitions:

There's a reason that I used the name "Bush" in the comments above.  Wisconsin Right to Life shows you how the old-style Republicans "fought"--that is to say, not at all.  (Besides, they aren't really pro-life; they're pro-comfort.  BIG difference.)

Now if only Abp. Dolan had tried "evangelization" instead of "accomodation"...........

"Justice" Dep't Toilet Needs a Really Big Flush

It's becoming clear that the Department of "Justice" is a toilet which is clogged with feces-with-law-degrees.

Nuking the DC, NoVa, and SDNY "Justice" offices would be a good start--but only a start.  There are plenty of other shits scattered around the "Justice" toilet.  Blow them all off and start over if necessary.

Bloomberg: The Dems' Little Hitler

No matter how much he spends, MiniMike is not a Democrat-kinda-guy.  Larison mentions a few of his "NO RIGHTS FOR YOU!!" moments.

In December 2018– A report by journalist Paul Sperry says conflicted Robert Mueller withheld evidence from the court that would exonerate President Trump from the latest accusations of Russian collusion during the 2016 election.

In May 2019– Rep. Devin Nunes accused the Mueller Special Counsel of lying to the American public in their report. Nunes accused the Mueller team of lying about Joseph Misfud. Dirty cop Mueller alleged in the report that Joseph Misfud was a Russian operative. This was a lie. Misfud worked with Western operatives. He is suspected of being an FBI trainer and asset.

In August 2019– According to Mr. Mifsud’s attorneys their client was working for the CIA and was NOT a Russian operative as reported by the Mueller witch hunt team of liars....

THIS is why Mueller pretended to have advanced Alzheimer's during his final appearance before Congress.  In fact, the Democrats deliberately set it up so that Mueller could do his "sundown" act.

Four federal prosecutors dramatically quit the criminal case against Republican operative Roger Stone as the Department of Justice reduced their recommendation that a judge sentence the longtime ally of President Donald Trump to up to nine years in prison....

I happen to think that Stone is a jackass of the first water.

The Internal Revenue Service sent 23,994 tax refunds worth a combined $46,378,040 to “unauthorized” alien workers who all used the same address in Atlanta, Ga., in 2011, according to the Treasury Inspector General for Tax Administration (TIGTA).,,,

Any first-year auditing student knows "exception reporting" principles.  IRS doesn't waste money on those sorts of people.  Nope.

Other locations on the IG’s Top Ten list for singular addresses that were theoretically used simultaneously by thousands of unauthorized alien workers, included an address in Oxnard, Calif, where the IRS sent 2,507 refunds worth $10,395,874; an address in Raleigh, North Carolina, where the IRS sent 2,408 refunds worth $7,284,212; an address in Phoenix, Ariz., where the IRS sent 2,047 refunds worth $5,558,608; an address in Palm Beach Gardens, Fla., where the IRS sent 1,972 refunds worth $2,256,302; an address in San Jose, Calif., where the IRS sent 1,942 refunds worth $5,091,027; and an address in Arvin, Calif., where the IRS sent 1,846 refunds worth $3,298,877....

Here's a hint to IRS:  HOW MANY PEOPLE LIVE IN ONE HOUSE??  Eleven thousand??  Two thousand, five hundred??  Twenty-four thousand??

Trump's Budget. Good Stuff!!

There's a glimmer of hope here.

Therefore, the Democrats will rip this up while their heads explode.  They will be joined by a number of nominally-Republican Big Spenders/Chamber of Commerce apparatchiks. 

The White House has unveiled a $4.8 trillion budget proposal for 2021. The proposal includes $590 billion in non-defense spending and $740.5 billion in defense spending. It also lays out a plan to eliminate the federal budget deficit over the next 15 years.

The White House wants to cut funding next year at the Commerce Department, the Environmental Protection Agency, the Department of Health & Human Services, the Education Department, the USDA, the State Department and the Labor Department.

The proposal also includes several ways to reduce the costs of Medicaid and Medicare, including work requirements. The White House left a blank for a prescription drug pricing plan, which signals an openness to work with Congress....

Not likely that ALL of this will be done, but knowing Trump, SOME will get done no matter what Nancy the Ripper does.

Local Rag Still Lying About "Quid pro Quo"

We expected exactly what we got here:  the continuing lie about Sondland's testimony.

Here's the local rag's lie:

Not exactly the truth.  While Sondland may have said 'There is a quid pro quo', Sondland's testimony is different.  VERY different.  Sondland states that he PRESUMED the quid pro quo--he did not KNOW that it existed.  Further, Johnson has often said that the President forcefully denied asking for a quid pro quo--something that the J-S failed to mention.  (See image below).

Yup, Lindsey.  The "intelligence services" like those occupied by the butt-boyzzz of Comey, Holder, Brennan, and The Clap  per.

Don't forget the National Security Council, where some REMFs spread Ukrainian propaganda like fertilizer on a cornfield (and it smelled just as bad.)

The only remaining question is "How long will it take to completely bury this stuff?"

McCarthy wrinkles his nose at Trump's explicit mention of Biden.  That's so.......ahh.......distasteful..........you know.

Well, Andy, get used to it.  The President--to the roaring approval of millions of voters--is going to .............distastefully........lay bare the corrupto-crap filling every single closet in Washington, Northern Virginia, and Maryland.  

Andy does observe that the Democrats are horribly wrong on nearly everything--how could he not notice?

One other thing:  McCarthy makes a claim here....

...Biden would not have been hurt even if there had been an investigation — especially once it became clear that Trump’s own Justice Department did not suspect Biden of violating American law...

..........and that claim is wholly without evidence. 

First off, SOMEONE in the Department of Coverup (formerly "Justice") knew all about the Biden corruption(s.)  That could NOT have been a secret during the Obama Mal-Administration.  Secondly, just because nobody at the Department of Coverup SAYS there's 'no suspicion,' does not mean that there IS 'no suspicion.'  I don't trust Bob Barr--but he and Durham could have been on this for several months.  Do you REALLY think that Giuliani (and Glenn Beck) are the only people on Earth with evidence?
