Wisconsin: Another Article V State!!

Went through the State Senate yesterday!

Republican lawmakers finished their drive Tuesday to make Wisconsin the latest state to call for a convention of states to add a balanced budget amendment to the U.S. Constitution, driving a resolution demanding the meeting through the Senate despite Democrats' warnings that they could destroy the document.

The Assembly adopted the resolution in June. The Senate's approval solidified the resolution as the state's official position. Resolutions don't need the governor's signature, but Republican Gov. Scott Walker tweeted Tuesday that he supports the call for a convention....

Paul Ryan won't actively oppose it until another 2-3 States get on the bandwagon--but then he'll be a screaming banshee from Hell opposing it.

Maybe he'll pick up some of his lines from these esteemed nose-pickers:

...Sen. Fred Risser said the convention might craft amendments outlawing abortion. Sen. Jon Erpenbach said delegates might outlaw the media and strip rights from women and minorities....

Can't find a downside in Risser's "fear."  Can't find a downside in 'outlawing the media', either.  If the media doesn't bother with the truth, may as well not have them around.

USCCB: Wasting More Oxygen

To no one's surprise, the USCCB has "solutions" to murderers of the nutbag, gang-banger, or Moslem persuasion.  Let's read their thoughts!

...our leaders must engage in a real debate about needed measures to save lives and make our communities safer.  The USCCB continues to urge a total ban on assault weapons, which we supported when the ban passed in 1994 and when Congress failed to renew it in 2004.
In addition, the bishops have supported:
  • Measures that control the sale and use of firearms, such as universal background checks for all gun purchases;
  • Limitations on civilian access to high-capacity weapons and ammunition magazines;
  • A federal law to criminalize gun trafficking;
  • Improved access to mental health care for those who may be prone to violence;
  • Regulations and limitations on the purchasing of handguns; and
  • Measures that make guns safer, such as locks that prevent children and anyone other than the owner from using the gun without permission and supervision.
While acknowledging the Second Amendment of the U.S. Constitution and related jurisprudence, we live in a fallen world with daily advances in modern technology. Some weapons are increasingly capable of easily causing mass murder when used with an evil purpose. Society must recognize that the common good requires reasonable steps to limit access to such firearms by those who would intend to use them in that way.”...

A comprehensive fisking of this gaggle of inanities would take waaaayyyyy too long.  So I've red-highlighted a few for quick hits.

"assault weapons...."  Please define "assault weapon."  Do not include appearance items as part of the definition.  Do not exclude commonly-used hunting rifles through your definition.

"...all gun purchases...."  Since "all" may include father-to-son or neighbor-to-neighbor, or friend-to-friend transactions, defend that particular genre of transaction.

"....high-capacity weapons and ...magazines"  Leaving aside the asinine formulation 'high-capacity weapon,' define 'high-capacity magazine.'  Given that defending a home invasion by several criminals will require more than 10 rounds, defend your position.

"...regulations and limitations on the purchase of handguns..."  What do you suggest?  Handgun purchases (through dealers) are already heavily regulated.  What is the meaning of your term "limitations?"  Limits by person?  By caliber of weapon?  Months of the year?

"...locks....anyone other than the owner..."  When fail-safe 'locking' devices are available, right?  You'd hate to see a woman fumbling with a lock while her children are being killed, right?

"....Second Amendment and related jurisprudence....."  Nice of you to reference that.  Please distinguish the Second Amendment from the God-given right (and duty) of self-defense.   Make your distinctions clear and comprehensible.  Reconcile your position with that of St Thomas Aquinas.

When you've finished, Excellencies, hand in your paper.  We'll get back to you.

Government: One Incompetent Boob After Another

So this Texas nut-case atheist murderer obtained weapons and several hundred rounds.

Because the U S Air Force failed to notify the Feebs of his conviction for domestic abuse.

AND because the nuthouse to which he was involuntarily committed ALSO failed to notify the Feebs about that little matter.  The nuthouse was a state-run facility.

Two Gummint agencies.  Two massive fuckups.

Twenty-six dead.

Electric Car Tax Credit Goes *POOF*! GOOD!!!!

About damn time!

This is a scam--but it's one that favors high-income/high-tax people.  It should go away.

...the auto industry may need new friends after the unveiling of the new tax code proposal.
Though the new code does cut the taxation rate for corporations, it also eliminates the $7,500 tax credit for electric vehicles: a credit that automakers have been relying on to make the vehicles more palatable to every day consumers....

"More palatable" means "the consumers liked the bribe, but not the car."

Here's reality:

...EVs currently make up less than 1% of total sales in the U.S. and that’s in significant measure due to the incentives. Xavier Mosquet, senior partner at the Boston Consulting Group, said that if the incentive disappears so will sales of vehicles like the Tesla Model 3, Chevrolet Bolt and Nissan Leaf....

Basically, EV's are very fancy golf-carts.  Range is improving, but "about 300 miles" is a very long trip indeed if there's no charging station nearby.  Hybrids, which are half-and-half, will get you the range you want, but are not too comfortable.  And they really don't sell well, either.

...The move would actually put U.S. automakers including Tesla, as well as General Motors, Ford and Fiat Chrysler, at a competitive disadvantage with foreign makers whose home markets continue to offer such incentives. ...

Faddle fiddle.  The incentives have nothing to do with "home markets"; that's some BS the reporter regurgitated.

...even with reduced imports, our energy and economic security is threatened by our dependence on a single transportation fuel: oil. According to the U.S. Energy Information Administration, the U.S. spent roughly $123 billion dollars on imported oil in 2016, the group noted....

When the price/benefit ratio favors electric cars, that's what will sell.

Taking Baby-Killing Off State Benefits Roster

Well, well.

By a 61-35 vote last Thursday, the Wisconsin Assembly passed legislation to prohibit elective abortion coverage in Wisconsin’s public health insurance plans. The legislation now heads to the Wisconsin Senate. If Assembly Bill 128 becomes law, Wisconsin taxpayers would no longer pay for state employees’ abortions....

This should get through the Senate with little trouble.  Note, please, I use the word "should".

Sheriff Severson: KEEP the 287(g) Program!

Perhaps Ms. Neuman-Ortiz wants to keep criminal illegals in Wisconsin.  If that's the case, drop them off at her home on the East Side of Milwaukee.

The rest of us (including damn near every immigrant) would prefer that you deport the criminals without further ado.  Put them on a plane, give them a parachute, and shove 'em out the door at the right place.

Atheist Nutjob Shoots Up a Church

It is NOT true that the atheist nutjob in Texas was a representative of, or lawyer for, the Freedom From Religion bunch in Madison, WI.

It IS true that he owned the weapon illegally, as he was convicted of domestic abuse.

The Bush Family: Sad and Divisive

The Bush family did not vote for Trump.

Sad and divisive, aren't they?

Old Ass-Grabber Calls The Donald a Blowhard

Bush 41, ahhhh, what memories!  Tip O'Neill ate him for lunch on taxes, Bill Clinton had him for dinner on the campaign trail--and to make up for it, he grabs the butts of nearby women.

Then he calls Trump a "blowhard," which is not entirely without foundation.

But voting for Hillary?

He deserves to have Barbara for life.

Diplomatic Kiss-Ass, or Stuck on Stupid, Gen. Kelly?

The Donald is going to spend some time in ChiCom-land, asking for a few favors.  North Korea comes to mind, of course.

So Gen. Kelly, his chief-of-staff, opens his pie-hole and makes a remark that in any other circumstance would be regarded as one of the most stupid, boneheaded, ignorant, and dumbass remarks in Western history.

The Chinese state publication Global Times praised White House Chief of Staff Gen. John Kelly in an article dated Saturday for stating in an interview that the repressive communist system “has apparently worked for the Chinese people.”...

Oh.....you mean the Chinese people who have survived, right?  Not the umpty-million who were killed by Mao and his successors, or the other umpty-million killed off while pre-born.

He continues the high-level stuck-on-stupid:

...Kelly stated that China had “beat us pretty badly in terms of trade” but that this fact “doesn’t make them an enemy” and instead should encourage American industry to compete at a higher level. “My hats off to them for taking advantage of whatever they’ve been able to take advantage of to have that trade relationship.”...

Why not?  American industry should utilize Chinese techniques like slave labor, zero environmental or safety regs, zero labor-standards laws, zero taxation for benefit of retirees.....hell, yes!!  We don't need that steeeennnking Constitution and all that "middle class" crap!!

Dumbass, bonehead, ignorant, and stupid, Kelly.

Or maybe all of that and "diplomatic kiss-ass", too.

Lower Than Lowlife: Hillary! Attorney, Fraud, and Traitor

We already know that she's a traitor--even before Uranium-1 she had given away State secrets through her latrine-server.

And we know she's an attorney--one of the 99% that makes the 1% look good.

To top all that off, she was stealing from the Democrat National Committee.  All "legal" of course.  Bernie got burned, but the DNC ain't exactly the picture of health now, either.

This is a genuine schadenboner moment!

"Dialogue Within the Church". Really??

The President of the USCCB (see below post on the civil war in the Church) issues some sort of nastygram about "dialogue."

“The departure today of Fr. Thomas Weinandy, O.F.M., Cap., as a consultant to the Committee on Doctrine and the publication of his letter to Pope Francis gives us an opportunity to reflect on the nature of dialogue within the Church.  Throughout the history of the Church, ministers, theologians and the laity all have debated and have held personal opinions on a variety of theological and pastoral issues. In more recent times, these debates have made their way into the popular press. That is to be expected and is often good.  However, these reports are often expressed in terms of opposition, as political – conservative vs. liberal, left vs. right, pre-Vatican II vs Vatican II.  These distinctions are not always very helpful."

First off, Fr. Weinandy was FIRED.  The truth is part of any useful dialogue, Your Eminence.

Secondly, Your Eminence, the Truth is "in opposition" to UN-truth, and also "in opposition" to not-exactly-truth.  Our current Pope has an affinity--a Jesuitical affinity--for the latter.  So don't give us the virtue-signal foofoodust.

We do understand that a Bishop is the absolute ruler of his Diocese vis-a-vis the Faith.

But we have ZERO illusions about a "conference of Bishops."  That's because a "conference of Bishops" has ZERO authority, as you well know.

We are only surprised that you did not spit forth the "DIVISSSSSSSSSSSIVE" word....yet.  We are NOT surprised that the USCCB still employs a woman who is an open and noisy supporter of the World's Largest Baby-Killing Organization, Planned Parenthood.

Stick that in your "dialogue," and smoke it, Your Eminence.

Gorsuch's EEEEEEVIL Reliance on "The Constitution"

Of course Totenberg thinks Gorsuch is stupid and tone-deaf.  He thinks that the Constitution has value and remains the fundamental law of the land.  (In contrast, Kennedy thinks that Unicorn Farts and Sparkles are normative.)

HT:  Grim

The Highly-Placed US Intel Liars

It appears that The Swamp not only needs draining.  It may require some executions, too.  Those usually get the attention of the remaining slugs, liars, and quasi-patriots.

...I'd like to put John Brennan and James Clapper under oath and ask them what they knew and when they knew it, and if they ever downplayed this intelligence they were sitting on when shilling for Obama's Iran Deal.

Oh, and then there's this: Another lie told by Obama and Clapper and Brennan is that the Muslim Brotherhood isn't a terrorist organization.

But Osama bin Ladin said he was "committed with" the Muslim Brotherhood, which in context seems to mean "committed in jihad."...

All that following the release of OBL's papers, in which he made it clear that Iran and the Muslim Brotherhood were VERY much ALLIES of his and AlQuaeda.

Nice, eh??

Civil War in the Church, Part XXXII: the USCCB and Milwaukee

The US Conference of Catholic Bishops has been filled with odd creatures since it was formed by Cdl. Bernardin of Chicago.

("Chicago" alone should tell you something; is it just 'co-incidence' that Saul Alinsky, Bernardin, and Obama all resided there at roughly the same time and were directly or indirectly working on the same causes??  Hmmmmm????  If you think so, read "Windswept House" by Fr. Malachi Martin.)

Anyhow.  Over the years, Catholics-who-pay-attention have been writing about the USCCB's Catholic Campaign for Human Development, which has spent Catholic dollars on various Marxist-socialist organizations such as Gamaliel, CUSH, and SOPHIA.  I need not remind you that Marxist-socialists are enemies of the Church, not to mention the US.

But it gets worse.  Much, much, worse.

When ObamaCare became law, Milwaukee saw the creation of "Common Ground" healthcare company, a "community developer" of healthcare, and an ObamaCare insurance provider.  That bunch, Common Ground, was full to the brim with the Usual Suspects from SEIU, another Alinskyite organization which was closely connected to the fraud-filled (now defunct) ACORN.

At the same time, USCCB had a subcommittee on 'healthcare and work', a member of which was an SEIU officer and open lesbian.  USCCB approved a $40,000.00 grant to Common Ground of Milwaukee in 2011.

So happens that Common Ground "health"care is a partner of Planned Parenthood, the world's largest baby-killing organization.  (At the link, the name is "Trilogy Common Ground.")  Think that's co-incidence?  Think again.

In this morning's news, we find that USCCB has an employee who is an open supporter of Planned Parenthood, the world's largest baby-killing organization.

And Milwaukee's Archbishop has once again--AGAIN--given a pass to USCCB's granting another $40,000.00 to Common Ground, a partner in "health"care to the world's largest baby-killing organization.

The Archbishop has no excuse for this.  He was told in 2012.  The matter is an open record (although PP has dropped the term "partnership" in describing its affiliation with Common Ground.)   Further, USCCB has no excuse for retaining Jessica Garrels.  None.  It is--arguably--fraud for the USCCB to take money from Catholics and payroll it to an abortion supporter.  It is--arguably--fraud for USCCB to take money from Catholics and grant it to a "health"care company which is a partner with the world's largest baby-killing organization.

What the current Papacy has done is made the civil war in the Church very clear and prominent.  Perhaps Abp. Listecki will pay enough attention to the conflict to de-fund the obvious external enemies of the Church.  That would be nice, ain'a??  We can worry about the internal enemies, at USCCB and in Rome, next.

Uppity White Congressman Calls Black Woman "Ignorant"

The gentleman jackass from Tennessee demands respect even though he has no idea what he's talking about.

About time Star Parker--or anyone else--slaps him around.  We've seen plenty enough of Congress-slime to know which ones deserve 'respect.'

Nice to note that Gohmert gets it, too!!

Schumer: Stuck on Stupid

So Schumer, a New York loudmouth, is determined to keep "diversity" immigration going after one of the "diverse" ones went on a killing spree in New York.

We can conclude two things:

1)  New York voters are suicidal; and
2)  Schumer is stuck on stupid.

Not even John McPain has stepped up to defend this program.  Yet.

One Last Note on Luther & Co.

We've been rather direct about the terrible consequences of the Lutheran Revolution, but that doesn't mean that we don't like our Lut'ran pals.  Jell-O salad can be good eatin', ya know.

Anyhow, here's another perspective on unity that is worth knowing:

...Christians both Protestant and Catholic are finding out, more and more, that what they have in common is more important than what divides them. The impetus for focusing on what is common arises largely from a rather unpleasant set of sources: the persecution of all Christians by radical secularism and by radical Islam.

Catholics and Protestants have been the object of persecution by radical secularist political regimes for the last hundred years, beginning with the rise of the atheistic communism with the Russian Revolution of 1917. More Christians were martyred in the twentieth century, than all other centuries combined. The turn into the twenty-first century has brought a new wave a persecution, with 100,000 Christians martyred every year, largely at the hands of radical Islam, and an ever more aggressive secular attack on Christian morality and faith. The good that God is bringing out of this evil is that Christians are uniting against these common enemies, and thereby bringing, slowly but surely, the Reformation to an end....

Oremus! Ut unam sint!!

All Saints!!

I know that this will not be sung at the Mass I'm going to attend.

But it should be heard!!  HT to NLM, here's Vittoria's O Quam Gloriosum.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=feAT-Kxw5rc

If you pay attention to the last 60 seconds, you'll hear the word-painting of 'following the Lamb' with the voices seeming to run downhill...

Good stuff!
