WE Energies (Weenergies) has a plan. They're going to use windmills and sun-catchers as baseload electric generation, and gas/coal (emphasis on gas) as "peak demand" generation.
They tell us that this plan will give us cheaper energy. They're probably lying. How can I say that?
...What's overlooked in this drive to close coal and gas plants is America’s ability to keep the lights on. And while neither the Biden administration nor Mr. Bloomberg has produced a cost-benefit analysis for their plans, analysts say we can look to places such as Germany and Texas, which have taken the lead in transitioning to wind and solar, for a preview of what's in store.
German energy economist Lars Schernikau has assessed the results of his country’s “Energiewende” (energy transition) and warns Americans to not follow Germany’s example.
"Wind and solar do not seem to work; otherwise, after 20 years of ‘Energiewende,’ power prices would be lower and Germany would not be in trouble,” he told The Epoch Times.
Germany spent hundreds of billions of euros to build wind and solar facilities since 2002, doubling its power generation capacity and boosting the share of renewables to 60 percent from about 10 percent. However, its electricity production has been flat, while the cost of electricity skyrocketed.
Wind and solar don't increase output proportionately because of their significantly lower “capacity factor,” or the percentage that's actually generated versus capacity built....
IOW, Germany--under the leadership of an ex(?)-Communist apparat named Merkel--is screwed.
But high-cost/low-capacity electricity has another VERY serious consequence:
...For all the billions spent, Germany’s “Energiewende” has delivered an increasingly unreliable electric system...
"Unreliable," as in no power is available. That's frustrating if you're trying to watch a Packer game. But it is a flaming outright disaster if you're undergoing surgery when the lights go out.
People such as Bloomberg and Gore don't really give a flying damn whether you survive a "lights-out" surgery, or whether your children have to eat cold meals. Their allegiance is not to you; it is to the Green Goddess they worship.
Same apparently applies to the Weenergies managers. Of course, Klappa, the CEO, has a standby gen-set at his home. He's not stupid, and he has the money.
Do you?

How about a Wood Fired Electrical Generator?

.....Just as the quarterly reporting season revealed crippling losses for wind power and EV’s, so it is with Solar energy.
The general US S&P shares index gained 15% this year but The Invesco Solar ETF (Fund) which invests in solar energy stocks around the world — fell by a dire 40%. Even the US “Inflation Reduction Act” couldn’t save the solar sector. As finances tighten with rising interest rates, apparently solar panel orders are among the first to be cancelled........
Ahhhh Too BAD, Cry in your Beer!
........And you’ll have to pay for it.......
Or, or, or , or
.......you can harden the grid and support natural gas, cleaner coal, oil, hydro, and nuclear -almost none of which you will pay and whose generation will save you money compared to so-called green alternatives. A fact that isn’t presumed to have penetrated the collective consciousness but could.........
