Waukesha County Silly Season

Another amusement from Government Officials!

A Waukesha County conservation biologist was on a local channel and this transpired:

“Even I wasn’t aware at first of the things we do at home that affect what goes into the drains and then reaches our waterways.”

That was our expert Julia Robson last week when we were back at TMJ4’s The Morning Blend to talk with Tiff and Ryan about water pollution at home. And we brought our own storm drain!

No one would blame ya for thinking, “Uh, I don’t litter around town or dump waste into my storm drain, so how can I help?”

Well, pollution is sneaky: Your doggos’ waste, your car wash bubbles, those leaves stuck in your storm drain? That’s all stuff that pollutes rivers and lakes via those big drains on your road....

Everyone knows that back before storm drains, leaves and dog doo-doo NEVER wound up in a lake or river, because those were the Pure Days of OldNor did the carcasses of deer, raccoons, possums, or birds!  By no co-incidence, those were also the Days of Perfect Temperature and Precipitation.  They were the Days Before Mankind.  Get the hint?

But it is true that in the Days Before Mankind there were no car-wash bubbles in the lake.   On that score, Ms. Robson is correct.
