More Proof that PJBuchanan Was Right

Not only was PJ 'right,' he was Right From the Beginning.  (dad pun)

Imagine that you are a U.S. immigration officer, handing out green cards to the would-be Americans of the world. You have before you two applicants who look almost completely the same; for some arcane, unspecified bureaucratic reason, you can only approve one of them. They’re both well-educated by American standards, both bringing identical families, both passed their background checks.

The major difference is their nation of origin. One is from a nation with a strong tradition of rule of law, free markets, and democratic pluralism. The other is from a country where kleptocracy, autocracy, and socialism are standard. The difference, in other words, is the character of the society that your two would-be immigrants come from. The question is: Should this difference matter?

The basic argument of The Culture Transplant, the new book from George Mason University professor Garett Jones, is that at least in the aggregate, the answer to this question is "yes." The marginal immigrant, to be sure, may not matter. But Jones shows, through an engaging and digestible tour of the academic literature, that people bring their national character with them when they migrate; that those values persist for up to several generations; and that some values really are better for societal flourishing than others, so the values immigrants bring matters a great deal....

Pat Buchanan made the same point, but cut to the real chase:  religion makes the difference.  He contended that the US' immigration policy should favor people coming from Judaeo-Christian cultures.  That's largely European, but does not exclude people from the Southern Hemisphere.  To Buchanan, 'cultural compatibility' is the key.

There are a number of assertions from Jones (described in the review) which are questionable, such as stating that the Chinese and Japanese are 'innovators' rather than the skilled copy-cats they really are.  But his general point--that culture is critical--is spot-on.

Just remember this:  "culture" is derived from "cult."  Were Jones to have that, his book could have been shorter.

Twitter's Roth and Child Exploitation

There are no co-incidences.

...Elon Musk revealed the former team operating Twitter did virtually nothing to stop the rampant child exploitation on the platform....

...Well, now, we may know why child exploitation wasn’t on anyone’s “to-do list” for so many years.

It turns out Yoel Roth, the former head of Twitter’s “Trust and Safety,” has a disturbing past seeming to promote or at least condone child exportation, both online and in his PhD thesis....

...Elon then shared a snippet of  Yoel’s disturbing PhD thesis, where he appears to argue in favor of children having access to online adult services...

Yoel Levy is a flaming queer, by the way.

Twitter and the D. C. Left were very closely connected.

You begin to wonder if Levy met his D.C. pals in a pizza joint.

More on the topic is found here

...one of the primary issues of note was the problem of child sexual abuse material (CSAM) being shared on the platform. Twitter had a significant problem with users sharing content depicting the abuse of children....

...Andrea Stroppa, an independent researcher, working with Twitter’s Trust and Safety team, posted a thread on Twitter giving an update on what the company is doing under Musk’s leadership to combat the spread of CSAM on the site....

[Stroppa]:   We found several accounts that shared CSAM, including videos of children and teens involved in sexual activities. >95% of these accounts were created before Elon Musk bought Twitter. Some of these accounts have been active for years (even since 2017)....

"Trust and Safety" homosexual Roth provides another anecdotal proof that child porn and child sexual abuse are well within the province of homosexuals.  You can ask Catholics about that.

Remember "Refrigerators"? Good Times, Good Times

If you think voting for Republican Congress-schlumps is effective, think again.

...The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) proposed new rules on Friday that would restrict the use of refrigerators, air conditioning equipment, and heat pumps that utilize hydrofluorocarbons (HFCs)....

...“The bipartisan AIM Act authorizes EPA to limit or prohibit the use of HFCs in specific sectors and to phase in these requirements over time as appropriate. The proposed rule addresses petitions granted in October 2021 and would restrict the use of climate-damaging HFCs used in certain foams, aerosol products, and refrigeration, air conditioning, and heat pump equipment beginning in 2025. The HFCs that are being restricted under this proposal are those that have higher global warming impacts,” the news release reads.

One must wonder how many businesses they’ll kill with this. They claim HFCs are “super pollutants,” that are worse than CO2....

EPA usually manufactures "science" rather than using real-life observations.  Then they claim that The World Will End unless they eliminate another critical component of life, such as HFC's, or coal, or petroleum, ......you get the picture.

For those of you who are too young to remember:

...Industry developed HFCs as a non-ozone depleting replacement for CFCs when the Clinton administration claimed they had to go.

The Kigali Amendment has nothing to do with ozone depletion, quite the contrary in fact. The 1987 Montreal Protocol mandated the phase out of CFCs, the primary refrigerant and aerosol propellant at the time. CFC were globally replaced with HFCs...

CFC's were used in automotive air conditioners (and other places.)  If you have an older car (pre-1995) and you the old refrigerant (Freon) leaks out, you will have a very hard time replacing it, if you can replace it at all.

The Kigali Amendment--'bipartisan', remember--was designed to fight the 'ozone hole' (later proved to be fiction) by eliminating CFC's, not to eliminate HFC's.  But now EPA twists it.

What will your next refrigerator cost?

That's not the important question.  The important question is "Will there BE a 'next refrigerator'?"

The Stench of the Wa. Examiner

We've mentioned that the Washington Examiner is a front for moneyed Establishment interests before, so you won't be surprised when you read this screed about Kari Lake.  Note that the news piece editorial does not mention one single piece of evidence that the Lake campaign brings forth.

What IS surprising is the total lack of subtlety by the author, someone named Ryan King.  It's clear why he'll never make it to the NY Times.

Arizona Fraud Resembles Wisconsin Fraud. Surprised?

In this clip, Kari Lake's attorney exposes the massive mail-in vote fraud uncovered in Maricopa County.  The allegations are supported by witnesses and whistleblowers.  He also mentions the constant gaslighting (LYING) being done by the MSM.

There are 280,000 ballots which have no chain-of-custody documentsNone.  Zero.  Zip.

And there are thousands on which the signatures do not match.

That 'do not match' is important to Wisconsin voters, because when Milwaukee County ran its "recount" (insert laughing here), the volunteers who 'observed' that recount were not allowed to examine any ballots for signature-match.

None.  Zero.  Zip.

The Republican Party of Wisconsin recruited several dozen people to waste an entire day--thankyouverymuch to sit and watch fraudulent ballots get counted again.

(If you detect some residual dislike for the Feckless rummies running RPW, you win the chicken dinner.)

Yes, '20 was stolen.  And they ran the same playbook in '22.

Two "B" words.  One of them is "ballot."

How Dirty Is the FBI?? Very,, Very, Very Dirty.

Bannon will probably 'disappear' in the near future.

He exposes the FBI's very questionable conduct after JFK was assassinated, hinting that the FBI's questionable conduct began just before November 22, 1963.

Then he reminds us of the FBI's (specifically, the disgraced Mark Felt's) treasonous conduct against Richard Nixon.

And--in the second clip on this page--he ties it all together with the FBI's attack on Donald Trump.

(Along the way he reminds us that Joe McCarthy was absolutely correct in a side discourse regarding the fall of China to the Communist friends of FDR's Administration.)

J. Edgar Hoover, the closeted queer, saw himself as The Preserver of America (no small irony).  The FEEBS continue with that belief, no matter that the FEEBS are actually acting contrary to American beliefs and her Constitution.  That was how Hoover and his successors justified keeping the dirt-files on everyone in D.C., and why that file-keeping has been expanded to cover every single American through the offices of the NSA.

What Trump and thousands of other 'normie' Americans have encountered in the last several years is the reality of the FBI, the CIA, NSA, State, and the Department of "Justice", which are, collectively, the Deep State.  Now that they are exposed they realize that they are cornered.  That's why they are so desperate to toss the Shiny Object of a new war into the mix.  Yes, they have collaborators in Congress; the correct question to ask is "What do they have on Cong/Sen X?"  As to their pals in the MSM?  They're like puppies being fed dog treats.  Draw  your own conclusions.

Time's coming when either America wins, or they do.  Choose carefully.

Military Genius Cong. McCaul: "Mo' WAR!"

Some members of Congress are really stupid.

Incoming House Foreign Affairs Chairman Michael McCaul (R-TX) called for arms to Ukraine to help destroy the Russian military as public officials have increasingly warned about the prospect of a “major war” between the West and Russia....

Here's a question for you, Generalissimo:

How many days' ammunition do the US Armed Forces have in inventory today in preparation for this "major war" you so fervently desire?

Yah, I know you can't answer that question.  You don't know.

Grim 'Splains What's REALLY Happening in China

We'll simply refer you to the post, but in short:  the Chinese demonstrators are not using polite language about The Party.  And The Party can't really do anything about it.  Heh.

You can also learn something about the Chinese language.

Maricopa Vote Is VERY Ugly

Kari Lake won the Arizona election, and it's likely that Masters won, too.

Think not?

...“Maricopa County election officials engaged in numerous breaches of Arizona election law in their handling and custody of ballots, making it impossible to conclude that the vote tallies reported by Maricopa County accurately reflect the votes cast by Arizona voters,” contends the lawsuit.

Kari Lake’s team of expert attorneys have gathered evidence from signed witness testimony, Runbeck whistleblowers, and Maricopa County whistleblowers to craft a 70-page lawsuit against Maricopa County and Secretary of State Katie Hobbs.

Included in the complaint is a shocking claim by a Runbeck employee that nearly 300,000 ballots were delivered to Runbeck on Election Day with no chain of custody documentation.

Maricopa County is the only jurisdiction in the country that picks up completed ballots at USPS Processing Distribution Center but doesn’t bring them back to the election department or tabulation center. Instead, Maricopa County picks up mail-in ballots and takes them directly to its print vendor Runbeck Election Services, which is headquartered in Phoenix....

By the way, the same illegal action happened in the '20.

Turkey Problem? Here's the Solution

Apparently a bunch of wild turkeys are 'attacking' FedEx and USPS delivery personnel in Wauwatosa.

This is the solution (but the entirely-Karen population of Wauwatosa will not allow it.)

The New Reality

Taken from PowerLine's 'humor' page.....except it's not humor.  It's reality.

Cdl. Cupich vs. The Second Amendment

Needless to say, this is NOT a 'position' based on Catholic moral teachings.  However, it IS a 'position' favored by Cdl. Cupich Cupcake and the radical Leftist-Alinsky bunch placed into the hierarchy of Illinois by +Bernardin and +Cupich.

The Catholic Conference of Illinois said in a statement on Thursday that it supports “a total ban” on semi-automatic guns and limitations on “civilian access to high-capacity weapons and ammunition magazines.”

“We now call on the members of the Illinois General Assembly to ban these deadly weapons in our state as a means of protecting the common good and preserving life and peace in our communities,” the Catholic group said.

What else does the "Catholic" Conference of Illinois favor?

Well............glad  you asked!!

Catholic Charities--an affiliate of the Illinois "Catholic" conference--favors trafficking of children.  That's because they take huge Federal dollars (over $3 BILLION so far) to move those illegals.  And they move them into largely-Republican districts.

We could say that Catholic Charities is co-operating in sin.

Still donating to them?

More BidenFlation on the Way

Don't let them tell you otherwise.

A key measure of prices of goods and services sold by U.S. businesses showed inflation accelerated again in November.

The producer price index rose 0.3 percent in November from October, the Labor Department said Friday. The producer price indexes for September and October were revised up from 0.2 percent to 0.3 percent, indicating inflation was already running hotter than previously thought.

Forecasters had expected prices to rise by 0.2 percent, matching the preliminary reported rate in the previous two months.

Over the past 12 months, the producer price index is up 7.4 percent, higher than the 7.2 percent forecast by analysts surveyed by Econoday....

Do you like to eat??  Sorry to hear that.

...Food inflation really heated up. The producer price index for food rose a nose-bleeding 3.3 percent in November, led by a 38.1 percent increase in the prices of fresh and dry vegetables. Energy prices offset this by falling 3.3 percent, including a six percent decline in the price of gasoline. The index for goods excluding food and energy rose 0.3 percent. The total goods index was up 0.1 percent....

Substitute 'gasoline' for 'stew' and you'll be just fine.  That's what the Biden Administration will be saying next week.

And they think you'll believe it just because they said so.

Biden's Mutilation Mandate Stopped

This good news almost overcomes the treachery of Bryan Steil and Mike Gallagher (Church-Haters, WI).

A federal appeals court has permanently blocked the Biden administration’s mandate on doctors and hospitals forcing them to perform gender transition procedures against their conscience.

The Eighth Circuit appeals court is the second circuit to block the mandate, after the Fifth Circuit ruled similarly earlier this year in Franciscan Alliance v. Becerra. The plaintiffs, a coalition of Catholic hospitals, a Catholic university, and Catholic nuns who run healthcare clinics for the poor, were represented by the Becket Fund for Religious Liberty....

The Biden plan was to cut off Federal funding of hospitals and doctors who refused to mutilate children (like Children's Hospital of Milwaukee does.)

That's no longer operative.

But not to worry!!  With the help of Steil and Gallagher, churches and individuals will be sued and will lose their tax-exempt status or their entire livelihoods and assetsSo the demolition of families and churches will continue apace!

Sperm Count Down? Marijuana!!!

Ace discovered this....

Conclusion(s)
In rhesus macaques, chronic exposure to THC resulted in significant dose-response testicular atrophy, increased serum gonadotropin levels, and decreased serum sex steroids, suggestive of primary testicular failure. Further studies are needed to determine if reversal of these observed adverse effects would occur if THC was discontinued and for validation of the findings in a human cohort.

Probably JUST CO-INCIDENCE that there are reports of sperm-count drops lately.

Gee!! A Fed Prosecutor LIES!!

Somewhat involved story here following up on the Fed Gov prosecution of Mr. Houck--a pro-lifer.

Short version:  Houck was dragged to jail by a couple dozen FEEBS (just doing their job, you see) on the pretext that he violated the Federal FACE Act which prohibits interference with someone on their way to an abortion clinic.

But it also prohibits interference with someone on their way to a pregnancy help center......that's significant.

Houck got into a tussle with an abortion fanatic who 'escorted' mothers on the way to kill their babies.  The fanatic complained of 'assault,' a charge which was dismissed in  municipal court.

Then Merrick Garland decided to make an example out of Houck.

That might not be too easy for the sack of shit called "Attorney General".

...under the facts detailed in Houck’s motion to dismiss, it was Love’s conduct that fell within the FACE Act since he allegedly physically obstructed their attempts to obtain reproductive health services at the pregnancy resource center.

The second half of the equation, then, is that Houck could not have violated the FACE Act when he made contact with Love outside the pregnancy resource center because Love was not at the time assisting the women to obtain reproductive health services.

Likewise, the FACE Act charge set forth in the second count of the federal indictment omitted any reference to Love attempting to assist any Planned Parenthood clients in obtaining “reproductive health services.” And it was similarly deceptive by alleging that Houck “verbally confronted Mr. Love and forcefully shoved” him to the ground “in front of the” abortion facility,” but ignoring, what the motion to dismiss claimed was indisputable, that “it was Mr. Love who approached and verbally confronted Mr. Houck and his then-12-year-old son approximately 50 feet away from the abortion facility’s entrance, and who turned directly into Mr. Houck after Mr. Houck directed him to get away.”

Because the FACE Act requires the government to establish that Houck acted “because” Love was providing “reproductive health services,” and because the evidence fails to establish any nexus between the physical encounters and Love escorting women, Houck argues the government cannot establish the elements of the crimes and says the case against him should be dismissed. Case law supports Houck’s position and alone justifies the dismissal of the criminal charges....

So a Fed prosecutor lied like Hell for political purposesThe objective was not to obtain "justice," but to teach Houck--and others like him--that they will grind you to dust by any means necessary.

The Thomas More Society is defending Houck.  You can mail your contribution to them at:  309 W. Washington, Chicago, IL., 60606.

GKC, Here, Today!

Courtesy of PowerLine, G K Chesterton observes the USA in the year 2022.

...The whole modern world has divided itself into Conservatives and Progressives. The business of Progressives is to go on making mistakes. The business of Conservatives is to prevent mistakes from being corrected. Even when the revolutionist might himself repenting of his revolution, the traditionalist is already defending it as part of his tradition. Thus we have two great types — the advanced person who rushes us into ruin, and the retrospective person who admires the ruins. He admires them especially by moonlight, not to say moonshine. Each new blunder of the progressive or prig becomes instantly a legend of immemorial antiquity for the snob. This is called the balance, or mutual check, in our Constitution....

How did HE know that two "conservatives," Steil and Gallagher, would do exactly that?

Teamsters Get Christmas From Biden

We all know that Central States was mob-connected Teamster money.

President Joe Biden will announce the injection of $36 billion in funding to bolster the multi-employer Central States Pension Fund and prevent “drastic cuts” to the pensions of more than 350,000 union workers and retirees on Dec. 8.

According to the Biden administration, the funding was approved by the Pension Benefit Guaranty Corporation (PBGC) and is the largest-ever amount of federal aid awarded to a pension fund....

...“Without the historic Special Financial Assistance program included in President Biden’s American Rescue Plan, these workers and retirees—who have already earned these benefits—would have faced estimated benefit reductions of roughly 60 percent in the next few years,” according to a White House fact sheet previewing the announcement. ...

'Losing 60%'..........you mean like the white-collar retirees from GM did after Obozo let them twist in the wind?

Stopping Pedophiles

Oooooh!!  The shrink-o-babble comunity has a solution for child rapists!

Letting paedophiles live out their perverted fantasies using sex robots might stop them harming children, researchers have controversially suggested.

Adult-sized devices could also be used by potential rapists and others interested in violent sex, under the same contentious theory. ...

That costs a lot more than we'd like to pay, which is about 80 cents.  That buys about 235 grains of lead with propellant.

We didn't forget the "trial and judgment" part.  We just modified the sentence.

Gallagher, Steil (R-WI) Show True Colors

During campaign season, Mike Gallagher (R-WI) managed to get on the radio bleating a "Conservative Mike" routine.  Since Gallagher had always been a squish--at best--we had our doubts.  Bryan Steil is a Paul Ryan clone.  Lots of tough talk, useless in real life.

We were right.

Gallagher and Steil voted to allow persecution of churches and individuals for holding to their beliefs about Queer "Marriage."

Per Sen. Mike Lee:

...“Nowhere in [the Collins-Baldwin amendment] is a statement prohibiting the federal government from taking adverse action against an individual or an entity based on a sincere religious belief interest same-sex marriage, whether that religious belief is one that embraces or does not embrace same-sex marriage. It does not do that. It instead says that nothing in this act shall be construed to alter or deny any status or benefit of any group. Those are two very different things. That language does not do what my amendment does. You see, the threat is not and never was based on what the act itself would do,” Lee said...

Now you know who the Enemies are:  Sen. Baldwin, Cong. Gallagher, and Cong. Steil

You've been told.

Gee.  It's almost suspicious that this vote came after the elections, right?

Nah.  That's a conspiracy theory, just like that stuff about Joe Biden's China-payroll position, or that Red China created the Covid virus--financed by Fauci--or that Ivermectin actually works against said virus.  Or that taking The Vaxx may kill you.

The Picture Is 1000 Words

Go To Vanguard Funds!

Eventually, common sense prevails.

Vanguard Group Inc. is walking out of the world’s largest climate-finance alliance, marking the coalition’s biggest defection to date as US Republicans step up their threats against firms deemed hostile toward the fossil-fuel industry....

Sell BlackRock.  Buy Vanguard.  Retire in peace.

Who the Hell Wants to Work for Kroger?

Yesterday we took great pleasure in Sen. Cotton's remark to the CEO of Kroger.

Today AOSHQ was kind enough to dig up Breitbart's analysis of Kroger's handbook for employees.

...The Kroger Company, a supermarket giant, published an "allyship guide" that told employees to use "inclusive language," celebrate transgender holidays, and even support an organization that bails violent criminals out of prison....

..."Some people's morality can be a barrier to accepting LGBTQ+ people," the guide read. It went on to say that, though the company cannot decide an individual's values for them, "a company has values that they expect employees to follow."

The guide provided a vocabulary list of various terms associated with the LGBTQ+ movement, including "non-binary," "queer," transgender," "cisgender," and "pansexual," which it defined as "someone who is physically or emotionally attracted to all genders."

Included on a list titled "language to avoid" were the terms "boyfriend/girlfriend" and "husband/wife." The guide told employees to "avoid if you do not know the gender of the partner/spouse." Employees are also supposed to abstain from asking transgender people "any pre-transition questions such as asking for old pictures or inquiring about the person's old name."

The guide even suggests that employees refrain from referring to customers with language like "sir" or "ma'am."...

...One slide, titled "The Importance of Pronouns," admonished its employees, saying "It is a privilege to not have to worry about which pronoun someone is going to use for you based on how they perceive your gender. If you have this privilege, yet fail to respect someone else's gender identity, it is not only disrespectful and hurtful, but also oppressive."

It also informed them that they may be asked to use newly invented pronouns like "Ze/hir" while others do not want to use any pronouns whatsoever.

"When someone is referred to with the wrong pronoun, it can make them feel disrespected, invalidated, dismissed, alienated, or dysphoric," the guide contended....

... Employees were encouraged to celebrate "International Non-Binary People's Day," "International Transgender Day of Visibility," "Pansexual Visibility," "Transgender Awareness Week," "Trans Parent Day," "Transgender Day of Remembrance" and several other faux holidays...

You can bet large money that Kroger employees could not take these as PAID holidays.

With that list of inane policies, probably enforced in all their stores, who the Hell would want to work there?

Yes, the Arizona Results Were Cooked

Even the Arizona Sun-Times thinks something's very wrong.

...Analytics 805 founder Thomas Cole told The Arizona Sun Times, “We took the Arizona election numbers and made this chart, to visually show the improbability of Kari Lake losing, while the entire state of Arizona voted Republican for the State Senate and U.S. House races. We saw a two-to-one Republican versus Democrat vote in the State Senate races. So it makes no sense to think those Republicans suddenly flipped to Democrat Katie Hobbs for governor by a 25 percent margin.”...

That's supported by this:

...In the August 2, 2022 Primary in Maricopa, registered Independents who voted in person chose Republicans 3:1 over Democrats.

Maricopa now says “Indies broke for Democrats” on Nov. 8th.

But just 3 months earlier, Indies chose Republicans by over 50 points....

"Republicans" did NOT flip to Hobbs by 2.5%.  Two point five percent is the margin of steal, accomplished by blatant suppression of the Republican election-day voters.

Fitzgerald/RoJo's Tyrranical Beneficiary

Gotta hand it to Scott Fitzgerald and Ron Johnson.  They know how to pick their friends with OUR MONEY.

President Zelensky of Ukraine announced Draft Law 8821, which will make the Ukrainian Orthodox Church illegal throughout the country. The law, if passed, will also allow the Ukrainian government the ability to confiscate all church property and outlaw both public and private practice of the religion.

The Ukrainian Orthodox Church has long been the largest religion of Ukraine, tracing its origins over a thousand years back to 988 with the baptism of Vladimir the Great of the Kievan Rus’ and conversion of the eastern slavs, of which both Russians and Ukrainians share a united heritage....

So far, he's shut down all Ukrainian press except one:  his.

Now he wants to shut down the Church.  As a reminder, the Church--along with the family--is always a target for tyrants.

Makes Putin look pretty good, doesn't he?

The Irony of *Time* Mag-a-Rag

This is getting more attention than it really deserves, but only due to the irony.

This year's "Man of the Year" is Zelenskiy.

Fifteen years ago, it was Putin.

Then there were Hitler and Stalin in '38 and '39.

As long as they're into Pure Evil people, why not Biden?

Great American Songbook With Robert Shaw

This album is worth every second you spend with it.  Arguably the finest men's chorale (or at least tied with Roger's men) in the US sings Great American songbook stuff in 6- or 8-part harmony.

Robert Shaw in the East, Roger Wagner in the West.  This was a great country, no?

Schadenfreude in the Grocery Aisle

About time a Republican delivered a counter-punch.  THANKS, Sen. Cotton!

(Where is Ron Johnson here???)

...Grocery chains Kroger and Harris Teeter (owned by Kroger) have embraced the woke agenda with open arms.

They removed My Pillow products from their stores after pressure from the left.

Last summer, two weeks before the Fourth of July, they capitulated to a complaint by a Democrat politician in North Carolina about koozies decorated with pro-America themes featuring firearms and pulled the items from shelves....

So now they want to merge with Albertson's, which would be a mega-merge ($25BN sales total).  And Senate Democrats are raking them over the coals with the usual bulls**t.

Enter Tom Cotton:

This situation reminds me a little bit of the situation big tech companies have found themselves in in recent years. They’ve come to Washington because they fear regulation from their Democratic friends or action from the Biden Administration. And then they expect Republicans, who are traditionally more supportive of free enterprise to come to their defense.

And I have cautioned them for years if they silence conservatives and center right voters across the country, if they discriminate against them in their company, they probably shouldn’t come and ask Republican Senators to carry the water for them whenever their Democratic friends want to regulate them or block their mergers.

So I’ve heard a lot , a line of questioning about that today, and I’ve read a lot about it in the news, and I’ll say this, I’m sorry that’s happening to you.  Best of luck.

Yup.  It would be a shame if your merger dream crashed and burned.........

Fewer Kids? Blame Safety Nazis

The title above is only half in jest.  This from Insty:

Also: car seats as contraception: “Since 1977, U.S. states have passed laws steadily raising the age for which a child must ride in a car safety seat. These laws significantly raise the cost of having a third child, as many regular-sized cars cannot fit three child seats in the back.* Using census data and state-year variation in laws, we estimate that when women have two children of ages requiring mandated car seats, they have a lower annual probability of giving birth by 0.73 percentage points. Consistent with a causal channel, this effect is limited to third child births, is concentrated in households with access to a car, and is larger when a male is present (when both front seats are likely to be occupied). We estimate that these laws prevented only 57 car crash fatalities of children nationwide in 2017. Simultaneously, they led to a permanent reduction of approximately 8,000 births in the same year, and 145,000 fewer births since 1980, with 90% of this decline being since 2000.”

*Actually, none of the crossovers can fit three of those monsters across, either.

We'll skip the "When I was a baby" stories.  But we can tell you that our children rode in seat-belts (no more than that) from age 6 up.  Legally.  And the big bulky baby seat?  Only two of them at any time, and you COULD fit three into the back seat.

No fatalities, not even a bruise.

BitchMitch To Fund Ukraine---Again

Remember that $10.00 membership you took out in the Republican Party?

Sucker.  Some of that went to BitchMitch, who.......

...Democrats have been fighting to get McConnell to agree to an omnibus spending bill that would fund almost all of Biden's next year -- passed by a Democrat House.

Obviously, a Republican House would not deliver a spending bill on such generous terms. So Republicans have pushed for just passing a short-term continuing resolution to get us into next year, then undertaking the omnibus, when the situation is better for Republicans.

Sounds like the best plan, right?

Wrong -- Mitch McConnell wants the omnibus spending bill now, with maximum leverage for Democrats.

Why?

Because he's afraid that a Republican House won't fund Ukraine as lavishly as the Democrats would.

So he's prioritizing Ukraine over America....

That's Mitch, alright.

Jill Underly's Big Lie, Pravda Covers for Her

The lie was so big that even Local Pravda called out Jill Underly.  But they did cover up the lie earlier "because of the election."  Underly was not on the ballot, but Evers--who closed the schools--was.

Now that it's safe, they'll tattle.

...we were struck by this headline from a news release issued by Jill Underly, the elected state superintendent of public instruction: "Wisconsin elementary school students buck national trends in ‘National Report Card’ release."

A Milwaukee-based nonpartisan nonprofit policy research organization, the conservative Badger Institute (formerly the Wisconsin Policy Research Institute),quickly blasted Underly’s claim:

"Wisconsin’s scores fell by every measure since the last time children took the test, in 2019, just as scores fell for every other state," an Oct. 26 article from the institute noted. "Wisconsin’s scores fell more than some states and less than others, and generally they remained a few points above national averages, but they fell — they followed the trend, rather than bucking it."...

So.  Underly's Big Lie won't displace her from office, and Evers remains.  Exactly what Local Pravda wanted to happen.

Brazil's Election Fraud Raises a Question

We've mentioned that the Brazilian Election Fraud which "elected" a Communist has inspired the military to action--which happens to be constitutional in Brazil.

...the Army has invaded the favelas of Rio de Janeiro and killed top leaders of the Comando Vermelho (Red Command) drug cartel, which supports the Communist criminal Luiz Inácio Lula da, Silva....

...The drug cartels are the armed wing of the Communists. Comando Vermelho controls parts of Rio de Janeiro and was formed in 1979 as an alliance between cartels and Communists. If they are eliminated, the risk 0f a civil war will be significantly reduced....

The red-highlighted text raises a question:  are the Brazilian cartels the only drug cartels serving as 'armed wings' of the Communists?

Are the Mexican cartels in the same position?  If so, is that why Biden is so.......ahhh..........co-operative with them??

Fraudci 'Does Not Recall'

Of course he doesn't recall.  If he did 'recall' he'd be in Club Fed, and even Sandstone is not very nice.

He also lies, contradicts himself, and generally acts exactly like a criminal would on the stand.

Huh.

"St. Bill" Barr? No. A Traitor

Barr is running around the country on the "Catholic Circuit," speaking to friendly groups and selling his fictional tale of the Trump Administration.

He will NOT talk about what he knew about Hunter Biden--and when he knew it.

He will NOT talk about what he knew about Joe Biden's Communist China payola--and when he knew it.

Know why "St. Bill" won't talk about that?

Because "St. Bill" knew ALL ABOUT the traitor-candidate and his son not later than October 2019.

"St. Bill" sat on that, making himself complicit with the Biden-China treason.

Here's A Test For You

 Think this is fantasy?

Real History

This is what actually happened in Central and South America.

Why Political Correctness?

Theo Dalrymple has the answer.

Democrats Need the Immature Voters

Fresh from their Howard Zinn history classes.....they'll vote!!  And we propose a deal to test the "good faith" of the progressive jackwads.

The Democrat-led movement to lower the legal voting age to 16 — or in some cases even younger — is gaining momentum nationwide, scoring local victories while winning the support of lawmakers and activists on the political left....

...Progressive members of the City Council argued that lowering the voting age would help young people build a habit of voting and make them more likely to continue being politically engaged later in life. ...

..."Young people are working, paying taxes," said City Councilor Julia Mejia, who cosponsored the petition. "When it comes to making a decision as to who's going to represent them, that has been denied to them."

And here's the real reason:

...Mejia also dismissed the notion that 16- and 17-year-old kids may not be mature enough to make important political decisions, saying that "oftentimes it's young people who are educating their parents and their uncles and aunts and older folks about who's running for office and why they should vote."...

'Educating their parents,' eh?

Here's a deal for you, Julia:  when the 16-y-o can purchase guns, we'll talk about giving them the vote.

After all, they're working and paying taxes, right?

Bernini and Tradition

The essay here is remarkable for a couple of reasons.  First, the author, Fr. Joseph Scolaro, shows us a marvelous Bernini sculpture (which most of us have never seen.)

Then he tells us why it is an analogue to the Church.

...Aeneas, Anchises, and Ascanius. The image captures the moment in the Aeneid when the three figures escape from Troy to make their way to Italy, where they will eventually become the heroic progenitors of Romulus, Remus, and the Roman people.

Aeneas bears his father Anchises on his shoulder, Anchises carries a vessel with the ashes of their ancestors and figures of their household gods, and behind follows Aeneas’ son Ascanius carrying the eternal flame of Troy. Three generations, all carved from a single block of stone, united as an image of past, present, and future....

...One of the great challenges facing the Church today seems to be exactly that: how do we move forward, how do we engage our own world, burdened by the baggage of centuries gone by?

Much of the contemporary effort has been to jettison the accumulated traditions of the medieval world so foreign to us, whether in devotions or art or liturgy. Many theologians and even ecclesiastics seek to overcome the weight of doctrine, hoping to pare down, simplify, and “develop” ideas in such a way that we can subtly leave behind much of the burden....

... What Bernini’s statue reminds us of though, is that the burden we bear is not some meaningless sack of baubles. He carries his father who gave him life, who raised him up, who made him the man he came to be. More than that, he carries the man who gave him faith in his gods, who taught him respect for the divine protector, who taught him to value the long line of ancestors, who shared that faith and handed on from time immemorial the way of life by which he has persevered.

He carries a burden of tradition, but a burden which is also the source of his strength
....

A remarkable way of portraying a timeless truth by Bernini, and a reminder that "timeless" means "permanent" from the author.

The D.C. Paranoid Bunch

You will have noticed that generally speaking, D.C.-based Government figures are far more paranoid than they were back in the '50's, '60's, and '70's.

In fact, they're more paranoid than they were in the '90's.

Then came GWBush, Dick Cheney, and 9/11.  The 9/11 criminal Muslims did a huge favor to the D.C. Establishment:  they gave them a reason for the "Patriot Act."  Then things went straight to Hell.

...In the era shortly after 9/11 the DC national security apparatus, instructed by Vice President Dick Cheney, was constructed to preserve continuity of government and simultaneously view all Americans as potential threats. The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) and the Office of the Director of National Intelligence (ODNI) were created specifically for this purpose.

After 9/11/01 the electronic surveillance system that was originally created to monitor threats from abroad was retooled to monitor threats inside our country.  That is when all of our electronic ‘metadata’ came under federal surveillance....

Pelosi's erection of The Wall surrounding the Capitol (the "People's House"/sarc) was only one of the signs of paranoia.  Congressional staffers now sic the CapCops on anyone who gives a Congress-critter a sideways glance.  In one famous example, a CapCop committed 2nd-degree murder of a civilian who happened to be protesting inside "the People's House"/sarc.  Every communication path--including first-class mail--is monitored continuously by Big Brother.

Don't like your School Board's decision to groom your children?  You're a Terrorist.  Don't think the Establishment Twits were correct about the Chinese Cooties?  You're a Terrorist By Other Means:  Dis-Information.  If you WrongThink, the FBI will send a dozen provacateur-informants to help you commit a WrongThink crime.  Then you're cooked.

It's a form of madness, yes.  Send someone to D.C. and they usually develop symptoms rapidly.

Here's an easy test:  how often does your Congressman or Senator make themselves available for questions in an open public forum, i.e., not by phone to their selected RadioMouth, or not only in D.C., or not only in tightly-controlled "friends only" meets?  We don't mean 'during campaign season.'  We mean 12 months/year.

Yup.  You've answered the Paranoid Test question.

Trump, Another Charles VI?

We've been patient through Trump's ranting about the '20 Election Fraud.  After all, it was fraudulent here in Wisconsin and the other "swing" States such as Pennsylvania, Nevada, Georgia, and Arizona.  It was 'fraud by other means'--that is, illicit ballot-harvesting was the vehicle, not Chicago-style brute theft.

So he had a legitimate gripe.

But, like Charles VI of France, he's apparently escalated to a Mad King level.  PowerLine isn't the only outlet to report this.

Too bad.

So now the question:  which 'next man up' will continue the quest to reclaim America for actual Americans--the ones growing the crops, assembling the cars, running Main Street shops?

Or will the GWB/Entitled Class install their own puppet--again?

Why They're Leaving Illinois

Recently, Boeing, Caterpillar, Citadel, and Tyson announced moves out of Illinois.

There's a reason for that, and it isn't only 'street crime.'

...in Illinois, estimated pension liabilities totaled an estimated $246.2 billion in 2020. Meanwhile, the state’s pension assets totaled $92.3 billion. Considering both assets and liabilities, Illinois’s pension funding ratio was only 37.5%, the worst in the country....

The companies leaving Illinois--and there will be more--are getting out of Dodge while the getting is good; either Illinois slams a huge tax increase home or the State will face bankruptcy.  And we all know that "greedy corporations" are the targets of any major tax hike.

By the way, notice that the numbers are from 2020--before the market slump of 2022.

This is going to get real ugly.

Brazil 2022 v. USA 2020

Things are going to be ............interesting.............in Brazil.

... Military vehicles have been spotted mobilizing in Brazil as President Bolsonaro met with military leaders ata ceremony to promote new generals in Brazilía Thursday. “Martial law is coming next week”, says Brazil observer Matt Tyrmand.  Elon Musk noted Twitter may have interfered with Brazilian elections.

“I have sources on the ground saying that the reservists are being activated right now, starting yesterday in smaller and mid-size cities,” journalist Matthew Tyrmand told Steve Bannon on Dec. 2.

“You can already see videos of tanks being transported to strategic points and chokeholds around the country. I think by next Wednesday or Thursday, (the Generals) are going to put a letter in front of Bolsonaro and say, sign this and activate us. We believe we have to act right now, according to the constitution, and go after these (voting) machines, arrest these judges, and then the house of cards will fall.”...

A Communist was "elected" in Brazil.  His opponent, Bolsonaro, remains in office for a few weeks--like in the US.  The military is concerned about election fraud, so they're fixin' to do something about it.

Education's "Green Book"

C. S. Lewis was a great author of fiction, but he was also a prophet, just like Tolkien, and the other mid-20thC Brits Orwell and Huxley.

But Lewis may have been the first to pin the tail on the malevolent donkey"Education."

...But Lewis was urgent about the danger coming down the road, a menace he saw as just as threatening as Nazism, and in fact deeply intertwined with it, give that:

The process which, if not checked, will abolish Man goes on apace among Communists and Democrats no less than among Fascists. The methods may (at first) differ in brutality. But many a mild-eyed scientists in pince-nez, many a popular dramatist, many an amateur philosopher in our midst, means in the long run just the same as the Nazi rulers of Germany. Traditional values are to be ‘debunked’ and mankind to be cut into some fresh shape at will (which must, by hypothesis, be an arbitrary will) of some few lucky people…

...This “Green Book” that Lewis viewed as such a symbol of menace was his polite pseudonym for a fashionable contemporary English textbook actually titled The Control of Language. This textbook was itself a popularization for children of the trendy new post-modern philosophy of Logical Positivism, as advanced in another book, I.A. Richards’ Principles of Literary Criticism. Logical Positivism saw itself as championing purely objective scientific knowledge, and was determined to prove that all metaphysical priors were not only false but wholly meaningless. In truth, however, it was as Lewis quickly realized actually a philosophy of pure subjectivism – and thus, as we shall see, a sure path straight out into “the complete void.”...
That "subjectivism" thing sounds very familiar, doesn't it?  It's the sine qua non of nihilism.

So how did that subjectivism crawl into the West world?

...Lewis zeros in on one seemingly innocuous passage in The Control of Language to begin illustrating this point. It relates a story told by the English poet Samuel Taylor Coleridge, in which two tourists visit a majestic waterfall. Gazing upon it, one calls it “sublime.” The other says, “Yes, it is pretty.” Coleridge is disgusted by the latter. But, as Lewis recounts, of this story the authors of the textbook merely conclude:

When the man said This is sublime, he appeared to be making a remark about the waterfall… Actually… he was not making a remark about the waterfall, but a remark about his own feelings. What he was saying was really I have feelings associated in my mind with the word ‘sublime’, or shortly, I have sublime feelings… This confusion is continually present in language as we use it. We appear to be saying something very important about something: and actually we are only saying something about our own feelings.

For Lewis, this “momentous little paragraph” contains all the seeds necessary for the destruction of humanity....

You really should read the rest.  It's not a short post, but it is worth your time.

We were led to the post by this item, which contains a precis and a startling fact about the author.

"Whoops!" Say the Swiss

Maybe that Greta Crapola isn't so smart after all.

Switzerland may become the first country to limit the use of electric vehicles (EVs) in a bid to ensure energy security this winter, German daily Der Spiegel reported on Thursday. Under the proposed action plan, which is yet to be adopted, the use of EVs in the country could be banned except in cases of “absolutely necessary journeys.” The government also plans a stricter speed limit on the highways. The harsh restrictions are being discussed as the government fears a power shortage in the coming months, due to the country’s high dependence on imports.--quoted at Vox
When Our Governments (Fed and State) manage to choke off all carbon-based energy generation here in Wisconsin, we'll all benefit from walking several miles every day, too!

See!!  It's a "health" thing!

That Jobs Report? Look Deeper

The Bureau of Labor Statistics put out a jobs 'report' which was very optimistic, indeed.

That's because they're playing games with the word "jobs."

...Recall that back in August, September, and October we showed that a stark divergence had opened between the Household and Establishment surveys that comprise the monthly jobs report, and since March the former has been stagnant while the latter has been rising every single month. In addition to that, full-time jobs were plunging while part-time jobs were surging and the number of multiple-jobholders soared....

There's the manipulation.  When Joe Sixpack (or Mary, his wife) add a part-time job, it counts as a job "added."  But that doesn't mean that there are more people working, does it?

...Showing this another way, there were 158.458 million employed workers in March 2022... and 158.470 million in November 2022 an increase of just 12,000 over 8 months, a period in which the number of payrolls (which as a reminder is the number the market follows) reportedly increased by 2.7 million!...

Both can NOT be true simultaneously.

Is it possible that BLS is doing the Political Thing with its happy-happy "establishment" survey?

(That was a rhetorical question, friends.)

No Coal? Pay at This Window

The FedGov and the StateGov are forcing utilities to move away from coal-fired electricity generation and to install horribly inefficient but very expensive windmills, sun-catchers, and Majik Rainbow Sparklefarts instead.

So YOU get the shaft.

The Public Service Commission of Wisconsin on Thursday agreed to a rate increase of 10.9% for residential electric service. The panel adopted a staff recommendation that was lower than the 13% increase sought by We Energies, but higher than the amount sought by consumer advocates....

... natural gas costs will go up 6.2%, or about $47 a year, for residential customers of Wisconsin Gas, which serves the city of Milwaukee, its western and northern suburbs and Ozaukee and Washington counties. Wisconsin Electric Gas Operations customers in the southern suburbs and Waukesha, Walworth, Racine and Kenosha counties will pay about 9.5% more for gas service. That adds up to an estimated $63 in additional annual gas costs....

As usual, the lowest-income people will be hit hardest.

By the way, the utilities were also screwed:

...the commission set the utility's profit limit at 9.8% for both its electric and gas operations, a reduction from 10.2% and 10%, respectively....

And:

...Other changes resulted in a $65.5 [sic] reduction of We Energies' revenue requirement, the amount it needs from ratepayers to cover its operating costs, according to a memo prepared by PSC staff....

We think that "$65.5" means "$65.5 million" (but who knows?)

That's the Green New Deal!!  Vote Democrat again, fools!!

News Story

Well.....it's just as much a "news story" as the bilge you read in Local Pravda.

The Dictatorship Is Here

If you're paying attention, The Dictatorship has arrived in the US.

President Joe Biden signed legislation on Friday that would avert a national railroad strike in the middle of the critical holiday season, but the measure did not include improved sick pay measures some union workers had wanted....

Congress passed a law, now signed by the President, which binds railway workers and their employers to certain terms and conditions of a "contract".

There is no provision of the Constitution allowing this action.  None.  Zero.  Zip.

The Truman action with the railroads was very different.  He seized them and had the Army operate them during time of war; he did it by EO, not by law.

If this action goes unchallenged, the precedent is set; should Congress and the President decide that you or your organization does not fit their agenda, ...............buh-bye!

You Trust the Post Office?? You're Nuts!

The Post Office joins IRS, CIA, the FBI, and the Department of "Justice".

...On four separate occasions between June 2022 and November 2022, packages sent by Elise for Congress containing campaign contributions were ripped open and the contents stolen while in the custody of USPS or its contractors. Three of these incidents occurred in a single week. In each case, the evidence indicates that Elise for Congress’s packages were plundered by a USPS employee or contractor while the packages were in transit. These repeated security failures by USPS have not only resulted in the loss of nearly $20,000 in campaign contributions, but also—and more alarmingly—have exposed hundreds of Congresswoman Stefanik’s campaign supporters to potential identity theft or financial fraud....

It's on video.

Stefanik is more disturbed by the USPO's 'ho-hum' response to the complaint than anything else.  But that's not new, either; the FBI and IRS stiff-arm FOIA's and court orders on a regular basis.

You think that electing Republicans will drain the swamp?

Go ahead.  Give us one good reason to think that way.

Green Europe; Food Shortages to Follow

The Greens will green-ify Europe.  First steps are in Holland and Germany.

The Dutch government is planning to buy and close down up to 3,000 farms near environmentally sensitive areas to be in compliance with EU environmental rules.

FIY, Holland is the second-largest agricultural goods exporter in the world; second only to the US.  This will significantly reduce vegetable availability in Europe.

Over in Deutschland.....

...Germany is still caught up in the demands of the climate change lobby to reduce its carbon footprint drastically in the coming years. One part of this initiative, similar to calls we've seen from activists in the United States, was a mandate to reduce all livestock on German farms by 50%....

...Die Welt, citing the German Meat Industry Association (VDF), reported this week that within the next four to six months Germany will face a meat shortage, and prices will skyrocket....

It's not just meat, either.

... Farmers in Germany have been banned from properly fertilizing large areas of their land under strict EU rules pushing the green agenda.

The use of nitrate fertilizers has been further restricted for large swathes of farmland in North Rhine-Westphalia, which is now likely to drastically reduce yields.

Although German authorities have implemented the ban, it is ultimately at the behest of the European Union, which is seeking to reduce the amount of nitrogen to tackle ‘climate change.’...
There's a benefit to all this, of course.  The population at large will be losing a lot of weight.

All the Correct People in the US have been pounding the "Eat Bugs" theme for a few years.  That's not co-incidence.

Perhaps this is The Whimper; the Bang is on holiday.

It certainly is The Wimp-ification.

Stifling "Free Speech"?

Meantime, over in Putin Country......

The State Duma on Thursday approved the third reading of a bill prohibiting propaganda that promotes non-traditional sexual relations, pedophilia and information capable of causing someone to seek gender reassignment surgery.

The bill bans LGBT propaganda in the media, on the Internet, as well as in commercials, books and movies. Also, any calls for gender reassignment among minors on the Internet, in the media, and in books, audiovisual services, movies and commercials will be prohibited.

In addition to that, movies containing material with propaganda promoting non-traditional sexual relations or preferences will be banned from screening. Under the ban, children will have limited access to LGBT information on paid audio or video platforms. For example, viewers will be asked to enter a code or take some other steps to verfify their age. Those under 18 years of age will not be able to access LGBT information....

Some kinds of "speech" should NEVER be tolerated.

Looks like the Russkies know what kind of speech that is.

Ron Johnson and Scott Fitzgerald's Corruptocrats

You recall that Ron Johnson and Scott Fitzgerald both voted YES to sending $40 BILLION to Ukraine.

Because if Russia wins there, they'll be marching on Atlanta the month after.

But where did that money go?

CBS investigated; 70% of it ($28 BILLION DOLLARS) couldn't be traced.

...Samantha Morris, a medical doctor from the US, drew attention to the theft of medical supplies and the overall corruption: “The lead doctor at the military base in Sumy has ordered medical supplies from and for the military at different points in time, and he has had 15 trucks of supplies completely disappear,” she said. The doctors couldn’t even set up courses for medical assistants until a friend of the Sumy Region governor interceded.

CNN talked to a retired US colonel who said that Ukrainian troops are short on supplies. Small arms, medical equipment, field hospitals, and a lot more are under the control of private organizations – more concerned about stealing money than saving the lives of their compatriots.

As Stephen Myers, a former member of the US Department of State Advisory Committee on International Economic Policy, insisted, “There is little to prevent a field commander from diverting some of the equipment to buyers, aka the Russians, the Chinese, the Iranians or whomever, while claiming the equipment and weapons were destroyed…”

Thousands of tons of humanitarian aid is being stolen. In September, the National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine (NABU) proved that the head of the Office of the President, Andrey Yermak, his deputy Kirill Tymoshenko, the head of the Servant of the People party, David Arakhamiya, and his friend Vemir Davityan were behind the large-scale theft of humanitarian aid in Zaporozhye Region. Zaporozhye officials Starukh, Nekrasova, Sherbina, and Kurtev only superficially carried out the task of distributing aid. In six months, they organized the theft of 22 sea containers, 389 railway cars, and 220 trucks. Humanitarian aid was sold in ATB and Selpo – supermarkets owned by Gennady Butkevich and Vladimir Kostelman, respectively. Of course, Tymoshenko, Nekrasova and Davityan all became 'refugees' and found asylum in Vienna....

And the Ukraine Parliament gave themselves a 70% raise.

Meantime, the US is drowning in debt, 10s of thousands of US citizens are being killed by drugs pouring over the border.

"Major" Fitzgerald ought to find his (now ill-fitting) fatigues, grab an AR, and head over there to provide something other than Other People's Money.

Diversity Is Their Strength!!

In a soccer game, Morocco defeated Belgium.

The Moroccan population in Brussels celebrated.

...violent riots broke out in Brussels.  More than 100 police officers confronted hundreds of Moroccans, who threw firecrackers, stones and bottles at them, set fire to and demolished cars and smashed shop windows....

Belgians are pleased with their diversity, right?

This is Closer Than You Think

This Is the Clash of Civilizations

Wauck--as usual--comes up with a most provocative column, suggesting that what we're seeing now is a Clash of Civilizations as foretold by Samuel Huntington.

On the one hand, we have the West, now a "civilization" of nihilism run by a Pelagian managerial elite determined to eradicate morality and realism both in the West and worldwide and substitute their own laws for those of God.*

On the other hand, there are (largely) intact civilizations in both China and Russia, as well  as in other regions worldwide.

Caught in the middle, so to speak, are the remnant Western Civ Christians who understand the Pelagian/Nihilist push and seem powerless to do anything about it, and who have no interest whatever in imposing that crap on others, either.

Is that too grand a schematic?  We're finding out, amirite?

*As we pointed out earlier about Pelagianism in America:

...A secular society, devoid of a transcendental horizon, consigning sin to the “unknowable theological,” and having imbibed a Rousseauean confidence in inevitable human “progress,” is essentially Pelagian. It believes the myth that it can repair evil and, by following that myth, arguably launches its own vicious cycle of injury. Woke cancellation and historical revisionism are Promethean ploys to undo what was....

Dan Kelly? Jennifer Dorow?

Procopis has the right call here.

Dan Kelly's a great guy and solid-as-a-rock Conservative.

Jennifer Dorow could win an election to US Supreme Court right now, given The Trial.

Kelly should gracefully bow out.

Belfry Bats? Not for Long!!

We know about the "green" windmills' murder-rate on birds, particularly small ones (songbirds.)

Turns out they're also eliminating the bat population.

...New evidence indicates that millions of bats are being slaughtered every year by wind turbines.

This astonishing figure of wildlife massacre arises from a reasonable extrapolation of casualty numbers collected by a group of German zoologists. Their data cover a number of years, and more specifically a recent two-month detailed survey at a wind farm near Berlin. Germany has nearly 30,000 onshore wind turbines, and the researchers suggested their findings translated to 200,000 bat fatalities every year in that country alone. Land-based wind turbines are common across many parts of the world, and a total figure running into millions is possible....

The mosquitos of the world are very happy, of course.

Pp. Francis' Very New Gospel

There's a wonderful blog essay on Pp. Francis' interview with America Mag-a-Rag.  Here, we'll concentrate briefly on one statement made by the Pope.

...Reacting to criticism that he favoured Communism, the pope said this was a socio-political reduction of the Gospel message

“If I see the Gospel in a sociological way only, yes, I am a communist, and so too is Jesus.”

There is no passage in the Gospel which forbids the possession of property--which happens to be a fundamental of Communism.  Sociological, theological, narrative, inspired Word of God, or otherwise, that difference is stark.

The commands (counsels) of Christ regarding property always began with "GIVE....."  That is to say, you may dispose of your property for the sake of the Kingdom, (for Christ.)

It should be obvious--even to a Jesuit--that one cannot give what one does not have.  We can conclude that Christ had nothing against possessing property, but He did require that such property should be given to benefit others--not merely oneself--as far as possible.  Does that mean to 'give it all away'?  No--unless, like the rich young man, you seek perfection.  Christ did not order you to make your wife and children into homeless victims.  But that is what Communism requires.

Meantime, Pp. Francis has taught you another meaning of the phrase Reductio ad absurdum

You'll Get Teh Vaxx From "Friends"

Oh, goodie!!  Thought you were a PureBlood?

Maybe, maybe not.

...It’s looking like messenger RNA is transferring from the vaccinated to the unvaccinated. Just another thing the health experts and fact checkers got wrong....

... there is a great likelihood that mRNA (lipid nanoparticles or within exosomes) is in the bloodstream and is excreted through body fluids including sweat, phlegm and breastmilk. mRNA was also found to pass the transplacental barrier during pregnancy. These shedded lipid nanoparticles are able to penetrate by inhalation, through the skin and orally (through breast milk)....

... Another study looked at vaccine mRNA in the bloodstream. They found vaccine mRNA still circulating in the blood 15 days post-vaccination with no reduction in levels. It wasn’t that on day 16 the mRNA levels decreased, they only looked for 15 days....

Graphic and cites of the literature at the link.

Merry Christmas, Spike-Spreader!

Teh Feeeeelzzz-Good Mask

All it ever was was "Feeeeeelzzzz Good" for Karens and other dim-bulbs like teachers and officious little assholes in various governments.

...a new peer-reviewed, randomized controlled trial (RCT) of N95s versus surgical masks, considered the midrange of protection, is undermining the late federal pivot to higher-quality masks and calls to reimpose mask mandates in schools, among other settings.

Published in the Annals of Internal Medicine (AIM) this week and led by researchers at Canada's McMaster University, the study found no statistically significant difference in protection between the two kinds of masks in healthcare facilities in Canada, Israel, Pakistan and Egypt.

Funders included the Canadian government and World Health Organization, which unlike the U.S. opposes masking young children and also found "no evidence" face coverings made a difference against influenza in a 2019 study....

So:

1)  The type of mask makes no difference.

2)  Masks are useless against CoVid.

Which anyone with common sense knew 2 years ago.

Kaul Plots Abortion-Law Overturn

This "news" propaganda story begins with the Big Lie.

Wisconsin Attorney General Josh Kaul said Monday that he wants his lawsuit challenging the state’s 173-year-old abortion ban to move quickly through the courts...

No, he doesn't.  He hopes it won't hit the Wisconsin Supreme Court until late summer.  Kaul was lying for the sake of appearances.  (It's also possible that Kaul is too stupid to have engineered this, but....)

...Conservative justices hold a one-vote majority on the court but Democrats are banking on a liberal candidate winning retiring Justice Patience Roggensack’s seat in April’s election. Impending delays in the abortion lawsuit make it likely the case could land at the court after the new justice takes the bench in August....

Kaul named three DA's as defendants; all of them are hard-Left (MKE, Madistan, and Sheboygan.)  All of a sudden--out of the clear blue sky--one of those DA's is going to file for dismissal of the suit.

Which will take a LOT of time to adjudicate.

Like until late summer.

Just co-incidence.
