A book review at the Free Beacon, written by Tal Fortgang of the Manhattan Institute, closes with a banger.
...Leftists in the West have in recent years fallen out of the habit of saying that they love America and consider their criticisms patriotic, and into the custom of saying America is rotten, the worst nation to have ever existed, the source of all the world’s evils. Liberals have not mustered much defense against the rise of these revolutionaries, having lost the lexicon of cherishing Western civilization both because it is objectively better than the alternatives and because it is ours. If they cannot hear Wisse’s plea to become just a bit more hard-headed, stop catering to those who cannot be placated, and defend their own goodness, liberalism’s inadequacy to defend the Jews will appear in hindsight as prologue to liberalism’s betrayal of itself....
He's right. We all know that the "leftists in the West" he mentions are a serious threat to civilization which happens to subsist in the US and some parts of Europe, and those leftists are able to gather support, both financial and in numbers, more easily than one could have imagined only 20 years ago.
What Fortgang does not mention, perhaps out of embarrassment, is that the leftists' leaders and 'thinkers' are--more often than not--members of a certain ethnic group. He shoulda just named the names, beginning with Adorno and Marcuse and all the rest of the camp-followers collectively following the 'Frankfurt school'.
(Adorno's fixation/admiration of Schoenberg's 12-tone crap should have been a VERY big hint about his intellectual and moral infirmities in the first damn place; his love of Marxism was a natural follow-through to Schoenbergian incoherence.) But we digress.
Anyhow, the quoted graf is worth quoting again and again and again. Loudly. Your grandpa's civilization is at stake.
