Autism: Just Another Fraud?

Jay Weber found a story we haven't seen yet.

Apparently, the number of autism diagnoses jumped like an electrocuted cat as soon as Obama pushed through a PAY HERE Medicare category labeled "Autism."

Surely that was a co-incidence.  /sarc

But remember that the Minnesota $$Billions were largely for "autism" claims.

Hmmmmm.

Jay Weber is gaslighting you.

The claim that the number of autism diagnoses jumped because the Obama administration created a specific "PAY HERE Medicare category labeled 'Autism'" is incorrect.

Here is a breakdown of the actual changes and factors contributing to the increase in diagnoses:

No Specific "PAY HERE Medicare Category": The Affordable Care Act (ACA) did not create a special, direct payment Medicare category specifically labeled "Autism" that caused a sudden spike in diagnoses. Medicare primarily covers individuals aged 65 and older or younger individuals with specific disabilities, and coverage for autism services depends on medical necessity for co-occurring conditions, not a standalone "autism" category.

ACA Mandates and Insurance Access: The ACA did, however, significantly improve access to care by:
Prohibiting denial for pre-existing conditions: Insurance companies could no longer refuse coverage or charge higher premiums to individuals with pre-existing conditions, including autism.

Mandating Essential Health Benefits (EHBs): The ACA required most new individual and small group health plans to cover EHBs, which include mental health and behavioral health services (like applied behavior analysis, or ABA therapy). This change improved coverage for treatments that were previously often denied or capped.

Eliminating annual and lifetime caps: The law prevented insurance companies from placing dollar limits on annual or lifetime benefits, which was crucial for individuals needing ongoing, intensive services.

Requiring Medicaid coverage for children: The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) under the Obama administration issued guidance requiring state Medicaid programs to cover comprehensive autism services for children under the Early and Periodic Screening, Diagnostic and Treatment (EPSDT) benefit.

Primary Drivers of Increased Diagnoses: The rise in autism diagnoses over the past several decades is primarily attributed to several factors:

Broader diagnostic criteria: The diagnostic criteria for autism spectrum disorder (ASD) have expanded over time to include a wider range of behaviors and symptoms.

Increased public awareness: Greater awareness among parents and professionals has led to earlier and more frequent screenings and diagnoses.

Improved screening and diagnostic tools: Better tools and standardized screening processes have made it easier to identify individuals with autism.

Changes in reporting: Some of the increase reflects improved recognition and reporting within educational and healthcare systems, rather than a genuine "explosion" in the actual occurrence of the condition.

The Obama administration's policies focused on ensuring access to insurance and coverage for necessary treatments, which may have made a diagnosis more valuable and easier to obtain, but they did not create a specific "pay here" Medicare category as described.

ACA nearly killed my daughter.

Not having insurance would've been better.

You DO realize that you self-contradicted, right?

After stating that Obozo did not create a 'pay at this window' category for autism, you wrote: The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) under the Obama administration issued guidance requiring state Medicaid programs to cover comprehensive autism services for children under the Early and Periodic Screening, Diagnostic and Treatment (EPSDT) benefit.

And for icing on the cake: The rise in autism diagnoses over the past several decades is primarily attributed to several factors:

Broader diagnostic criteria: The diagnostic criteria for autism spectrum disorder (ASD) have expanded over time to include a wider range of behaviors and symptoms.

Perhaps you are very young. Prior to these guidances, "autism" did not exist as a compensable 'illness.' So Weber (and his source, the WSJ) are not "gaslighting" anyone. ObamaCare created a brand-new racket and as you know, the Somalis took full advantage of that.

ObozoCare also opened the door to massive fraud. Even the WaPo admits it. See: https://hotair.com/john-s-2/2025/12/09/it-sure-looks-like-obamacare-is-rife-with-fraud-n3809688

We do NOT believe that those problems are accidental. Given the patterns shown in the above article, it was a deliberate set of "errors" which--just by "co-incidence" appeared.

Those policies, along with Biden's, make "affordability" a real issue.

Good plan--if the intent is to demolish the US.
