Yesterday we quoted a Last Refuge analysis which pointed out that there is a clear "Stop Trump" gang out there, composed largely of Wall StreetPubbie/Democrat/Deep State/Globaloney types.
So what to our wondering eyes should appear? Harsanyi in all his.....ummmnnhhh.....glory.
... Few politicians beat on strawmen with more frequency than Vance. And, in this case, the red herring is the word "deplatform." It insinuates a form of censorship, which no notable person is demanding.
Speaking out against those who normalize odious lies and indecency, as Owens and Carlson do, is a way of exercising free expression. This offends Vance, who sees the problem differently. ...
Here Harsanyi licenses slamming JDVance for the unforgivable crime of NOT condemning Owens and Carlson to Hell without further discussion. Period.
Harsanyi may or may not be a Member in Good Standing of the Democrat Party, and he may not even be a WallStreetPubbie. But he is a Globaloney type, dedicated to the proposition that those who Criticize Israel are NOT to be tolerated.
Why?
Because Israel. There is no other reason.
Harsanyi--like many propagandists--presents the Binary View: you can be with us totes, or against us totes. There is no in-between. If nothing else, it proves that Harsanyi is not familiar with most of Shakespeare's characters, which happen to reflect humanity perfectly. Watch how he corkscrews into that binary in the last sentence below:
...Vance does offer some perfunctory condemnation of bigotry, before contending "(a)lmost no Americans are antisemitic" — which is definitely a big relief. Only around "99% of Republicans, and I think probably 97% of Democrats," the vice president contends, "do not hate Jewish people for being Jewish."
However, he adds, there is a "real backlash to a consensus view in American foreign policy" and "we should be able to say 'we agree with Israel on that issue, and we disagree with Israel on this other issue.'"
Again, for Vance, Israel supporters are the problem. ...
And to Harsanyi, America First supporters are the problem. Because Israel?
Harsanyi has been around long enough to know better. Claiming to be a 'democracy' while openly and brazenly shoving 100's of thousands of people out of their homes for the sake of forming "Greater Israel" is gross propaganda. Did Gazans vote to get shoved into God-Knows-Where?
Are there some evil Gazans? No doubt. Did Netanyahu's extremely effective internal security operations find them and bring them to trial? Nope. So Netanyahu did it the easy way: mass obliteration of homes, stores, and places of worship, and may the Devil take the hindmost.
Requiring the US to support that activity is arguably the most egregious form of chutzpah ever seen.
Supporters of such "democracy" are the problem, Mr. Harsanyi.
Can you at least admit to that?

Damn straight. No gray area here. Owen’s is promoting a conspiracy theory that Israel assassinated Kirk without a shred of evidence. And through her “logic”, Trump is protecting Bibi. And yet JD doesn’t seem to care enough to quash this black pig from squealing. Furthermore, Tucker is giving a platform to a man who demonizes women. Why is a supposed Christian like JD refusing to condemn sinful conduct?
“So Netanyahu did it the easy way: mass obliteration of homes, stores, and places of worship, and may the Devil take the hindmost”
You mean the murderous way. And Trump and Vance give credibility to Bibi’s bloody rampage by not immediately stopping the flow of American taxpayer money to Israel.
America First without Israel. Or Trump’s “America First”. Choose wisely.
Frankly, I think Owens is several cans short of a case. As to Fuentes: he's making a LOT of money.
Meantime, some peeps are working on taking out Vance. THey're using different angles of attack, but that's the objective, in order to run DeSantis, a far-more-cooperative pol.
“Frankly, I think Owens is several cans short of a case. As to Fuentes: he's making a LOT of money.”
All the more reason that JD MUST condemn both. If not, he just demonstrates weakness and compliance.
“Meantime, some peeps are working on taking out Vance.”
He is doing this all by himself. He says nothing about the nuttiness of Owens and Fuentes. He refuses to repeatedly and vocally condemn Israel (since Miller runs the show). He married a Hindu and had kids (!) with her, which doesn’t sit well with MAGA and white Christian nationalists. It’s a betrayal to them—remember, Jeets can’t be trusted at all, right? Too dirty and clannish, correct?
“but that's the objective, in order to run DeSantis, a far-more-cooperative pol.”
LOL, he was exposed as being weak and ineffective when he ran in 2016, just like when Walker ran! No, DeSantis time has passed.

Now more than ever JD must condemn Fuentes to defend Christianity.. From a recent article in the Atlantic.
—At AmericaFest, I kept running into young Fuentes fans. “Honestly, it’s very controversial, but I love Nick Fuentes. I listen to him every day,” Vanessa Wright, a member of the TPUSA chapter at Utah Valley University, the college where Kirk was killed, told me. When I asked her about the demeaning things he’s said about women (including that they “need to shut the fuck up”), she said that she appreciates his sense of humor. People take him too literally; he says things for “shock value,” she insisted.
Many Fuentes supporters I spoke with mentioned that they were especially interested in his steadfast criticism of Israel. After all, a majority of young Republicans now oppose aiding Israel. Although Fuentes’s criticism of Israel is driven by gross anti-Semitism, he is one of the few prominent voices on the right who unequivocally criticizes the country.
On Saturday, I ran into two college students from Florida who told me that they were Fuentes fans. (They wouldn’t give me their names, citing the potential repercussions of being known as Fuentes supporters.) I had found them badgering people who were standing next to the booth for Generation Zion, an outreach and advocacy group for Jews and Christians who support Israel. The more talkative one, a man with blond hair nearly to his shoulders, said that he had been “watching Nick for a couple of years now.”
The other said that he didn’t like Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu but credited him as “one of the greatest leaders of our time.” He told me, “He’s raping everybody. He’s swinging his nuts everywhere.”—
The rift in the conservative movement is real, thanks to Owens and Fuentes, and threatens the viability of JD as a GOP presidential candidate.
