Last night on the Tucker Carlson show Dan Patrick, the Lt. Gov. of Texas, made the point that 'Democrats think the government is God.'
He was not quite correct; the entire Deep State thinks that way. The generals above simply translated to action the implications of the Deep State's beliefs.
That would explain the D.C. reaction to the 1/6 trespassing event--the Capitol building is the Temple of their god, and is therefore sacred ground. Trespassers must be repelled at any cost.
For the rest of us, it's a nice building owned by every taxpayer where certain sorts of business is conducted, kinda like the NYSE building or the headquarters of Ford Motor company. Except nobody at Ford, nor the NYSE, is as power-mad--and corruption is far less rampant.
The generals--talking on behalf of the Deep State--may well get their insurrection. It's not likely that they will enjoy it, though.
